Chapter 14—Lilith POV
"Traitor," I spat, stepping closer. "Hiding under the guise of a moon priestess. How many of your kind have you betrayed?"
My fingers burned to will my sword. Just when the red glow started radiating, she raised a hand.
"I'm not your enemy, Lilith Blackheart."
"Then where do you stand?" I asked. "You want me dead. Wasn't that your plan when you gave me the potion?"
I took another step forward. "Where have I seen this face of yours?"
"I am a close friend of your mother," she answered.
I paused, taking in her appearance. Then it clicked__I had seen her face before. But she hadn't been dressed in a white gown when I met her with Morgan; she had worn a long black cloak.
"I have seen you on different occasions when I visited your mother, Lilith of Blackheart," she said. "The last time I was there—"
"I am surprised." A small smile appeared.
"Tell me, Lilith of Blackheart. Why are you surprised?"
