Chapter 18 — Lilith POVI slept for hours. At some point, rain fell heavily, spattering the window with its water. I lay on the bed, blanket draped over me as the hours dragged on. I woke up to meet either Cain or Maverick watching me as I slept. The serum's liquid washed dizziness over me that required long hours of sleep__still, it wasn't enough.
When I finally woke fully, I found Maverick seated on the chair across from the bed.
"Water," I croaked, reaching for the bottled water at the bedside when Maverick suddenly stood up and helped me with it.
