Naruto turned back, still shouting, "That's not right!"
When Danzo saw the golden fur, his heart went cold again.
Really.
Naruto continued, "Lord Hokage can testify — my medical fees aren't cheap."
"High or low… well… it should be around three million."
"Since you're an elder, I'll break your bones and charge you five million!"
"I expect the payment by today, or else! I'll hire a fox that specializes in collecting debts—bah!"
"I mean, I'll hire someone who specializes in collecting debts and send them to your house to reclaim what's rightfully mine!"
Hearing Naruto's words, Danzo couldn't stand it any longer. He rolled his one visible eye and collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.
Sarutobi Hiruzen stared silently at Naruto.
Naruto shrugged and smiled kindly. "It's not my fault. His endurance is just too low~"
After saying that, Naruto didn't leave immediately but instead fixed his gaze on Hiruzen, waiting for his response.
Hiruzen sighed helplessly. "Little Naruto, I'll make sure to talk to Danzo about this."
In truth, Naruto didn't really want five million ryo — what he wanted was an attitude from the Third Hokage.
Now that Hiruzen had backed off, Naruto's goal was achieved.
That meant both Hiruzen and Danzo would stop giving him trouble in Konoha.
Naruto had originally wanted to bring up how Root agents attacked him last time, but after thinking it through, he decided not to push Hiruzen's limits.
After all, the old man was still a ninja — a former Kage. He definitely had a temper.
But at least, for now, his bottom line had softened.
After leaving the Hokage's office, Naruto wandered around Konoha.
In truth, the days without Iruka, Hinata, or hanging out with Sakura and Sasuke were quite lonely for him.
After all, there were no cell phones, no games, nothing like that here.
That night, Naruto returned home.
There were always changes happening within the sealed space, and Naruto had been keeping an eye on it.
At this moment, there was no movement inside.
It looked like Kurama had succeeded.
Naruto sat cross-legged on his bed and sank his consciousness into the sealed space.
Inside the cold, damp seal…
A massive fox rested quietly on the ground.
After absorbing the other Nine-Tails' chakra, Kurama's strength had fully returned — even exceeding his prime.
Now, with his own chakra added, Kurama's total chakra volume had reached one and a half times what it used to be.
Naruto's figure appeared inside the seal, and Kurama sensed him immediately.
Naruto stood before the giant gate, peering inside.
Kurama sat up as Naruto entered, his enormous movement making Naruto exclaim, "Whoa! You got that big?!"
Since Kurama's chakra had increased, his body size had grown as well — now one and a half times larger than before.
His already terrifying form had become an overwhelming force of nature, radiating pure pressure.
Kurama grinned proudly. "Of course. My size is directly linked to my chakra reserves."
"Say, Naruto, do you want to let me out again?"
"This time, even if that 'sick old man' attacks me again, I'll just slap him to death."
Naruto instantly agreed. "Okay, I'll let you out right now!"
"Really?" Kurama asked, suddenly hesitant.
It was like visiting someone else's house — you eat their food, put down the bowl, wipe your mouth, and then leave right after.
Naruto reassured him, "Of course it's true. When have I ever lied to anyone?"
"But…"
Then Naruto changed the subject. "Don't you want the rest of the chakra?"
"The rest of the chakra?" Kurama immediately caught on. "You mean… there's another fox like me?"
Although he didn't know how Naruto managed it, Kurama didn't care.
What mattered to him was freedom — and being stronger than the Eight-Tails.
"Of course," Naruto replied confidently. "From now on, Nine-Tails will be staying at the hotel."
Kurama bared his fangs in a grin. "Then I'm not leaving!"
"In exchange, you can use my chakra as much as you want."
That was the benefit of building a good relationship with Kurama early on!
Naruto nodded in satisfaction and asked casually, "So, where's the other Nine-Tails? Did you kill it?"
Kurama shook his massive head. Then, curling his tail forward, he placed something on the ground.
When the tail uncurled, Naruto saw a small fox — about thirty centimeters tall, with nine fluffy tails and an adorable expression.
Its once-fierce eyes were now clear, though still full of defiance.
The tiny fox waved a paw angrily. "Just you wait! I'll kill you all someday!"
"Oh?" Naruto walked over, pinched the back of its neck, and lifted it up.
The little fox kicked and puffed up, trying to roar.
"Ha!!!"
"Ha~~~~"
But due to its tiny size, the outburst only made it cuter.
It was like a small country declaring war on a much bigger one — and the larger country just laughed.
"By the way," Naruto asked, puzzled, "why didn't you just kill it? Or drain all its chakra for maximum benefit?"
Kurama chuckled darkly. "Naruto, you still don't understand. Even if I lose my chakra, I'll recover it slowly over time."
"I kept it alive so it can grow again. When it's strong enough, I'll just absorb it once more."
Naruto blinked. "You… you actually know about sustainable development?"
He was genuinely impressed. "Wait, it can grow up again? That's amazing!"
"You won't die a good death!" the tiny Nine-Tails shouted in its cute little voice. "I'll kill you all someday!"
Naruto couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.
He hugged the little fox for a while, then got bored.
"Alright, that's enough. You can go now." Naruto tossed it aside casually.
The small Nine-Tails: "???"
Okay, okay! You heartless brat.
You were just hugging me, acting all nice — and now you throw me away like trash?!
I was this close to giving up and planning revenge, but now…
I can't even do that?!
Fine! Just wait for me!!!
After confirming everything in the sealed space, Naruto withdrew his consciousness.
The next day, Sasuke came to him directly.
"Naruto, I've mastered the Body Flicker Technique," Sasuke said seriously. "Can we start actual combat training now?"
"Actual combat?" Naruto thought for a moment.
Since forming their team, they hadn't taken on a mission yet.
And honestly, he was starting to get bored staying in Konoha all the time.
"Why not?" he said with a grin. "Let's use this chance to travel a bit and stretch our legs."
