Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: A Price Too High, A Love Too Deep

They left the Bvlgari store and headed straight to the mall to get clothes for Dior's date. Moving from one boutique to another, they picked out different outfits—dresses, heels, accessories—until their hands were filled with shopping bags.

By the time they were done, a staff member handed Dior another bag with a polite smile. "Thank you for shopping with us. Please come again."

"We will," Hazel replied, smiling brightly like a little child.

Dior glanced at her and shook her head. "Let's go… and stop smiling like a little kid."

"Huh?" Hazel blinked.

Dior ignored her and waved down a taxi. "Taxi!"

The car stopped in front of them. "Where to, miss?" the driver asked.

"Imperial University dormitory."

"Yes, ma."

Thirty minutes later, they arrived at their dorm. Dior paid the driver, and the two girls stepped inside.

Beep.

Hazel's phone vibrated.

She took it out casually—but the moment she saw the screen, she froze.

Her eyes widened in shock.

"H-Hazel?" Dior frowned. "Why are you standing like that? What happened?"

Hazel slowly turned the phone toward her.

"…Ten million dollars."

Liam's POV

Liam was still seated across from Lisa, casually talking, when his phone lit up with a notification.

Hazel Collins spent $2,325,450.

Instead of being annoyed… he smiled.

A rare, genuine smile.

Without hesitation, he transferred $10 million into her account.

"Brother… why are you smiling like that?" Lisa asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. "It's rare to see you smile. Actually, you never smile. So what's going on?"

"Nothing much, cousin," Liam replied calmly.

Lisa pouted slightly. "Don't call me that. Call me sister… or Lisa."

"No," Liam said bluntly. "I already have two cute sisters. You're my cousin—act like one."

She clenched her hand tightly but forced a smile. "Why do you always have to be so cold?"

"You have a brother that calls you that," Liam replied indifferently.

"It's not fun when my brother says it," she said, tilting her head. "But maybe… it would sound nice coming from you."

Liam didn't respond.

Instead, she leaned forward slightly. "I still don't understand why Grandpa gave you his company."

"Maybe because I'm smart, confident, handsome… and capable," Liam said calmly. "And I'm the closest family member who can tolerate you."

Lisa laughed softly, not offended. "Come on. Your younger brother is in Australia, your older sister is in Paris, your little sister is in New Jersey… and we're both here in New York. Of course our bond is stronger."

Liam remained silent.

"We grew up together," she continued. "Grandpa saw that. That's why he trusted you. You haven't even seen your youngest sister in two years… and now she's already twelve. The only time you see the family is during reunions—and those stopped after Grandpa died two years ago."

Liam's gaze darkened slightly.

"…You might be right," he admitted quietly.

Just then, his phone rang.

"Excuse me," he said, standing up and stepping away.

He answered the call.

"Hello, love… how are you doing?" His voice softened immediately.

"I'm fine," Hazel replied from the other end.

"I miss you so much," he said, his tone low and sincere.

"…Hmm."

He paused slightly.

"What is it, love?"
