When Evelyne and Luke decided to leave school and return home so Evelyne could get back to work, a car pulled up right next to them. As soon as she saw who the owner of the car was, Evelyne looked unhappy.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
"I came here to see how you two were doing. I remember that today was Luke's first day of school. That's why I came to see him, but it turns out I'm late," replied Daniel.
Luke, who was eating a moon cake at the time, was surprised by Daniel's arrival, but he was immediately delighted to see his mother's friend's car.
"Uncle Daniel! Uncle Daniel! You won't believe what I did today!" he said happily, ready to tell him what he had done at school all day.
He was used to telling Daniel everything because he didn't understand what was going on between his mother and Daniel, so Luke told him innocently.
She intended to cut the story short because she had to go to work immediately, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.
