CRASH!
"How can I trust a woman like you! I know you're playing with him behind my back!" a man snapped at his wife when he was enraged to hear that the wife he had been married to for 3 years was cheating on him.
"I never did that! I never cheated on you at all, let alone with Daniel!"
His wife, Evelyne, had never cheated on him at all, let alone slept with another man behind his back. She didn't even understand where her husband had heard the news from but it was enough to ruin their marriage.
The big fight led to a divorce after almost 5 years of their relationship.
In the end, Evelyne moved out of his house and left town.
She hoped she would never come back to the city and see him again, as she felt that none of this should have happened. Especially until her ex husband made unreasonable accusations against her.
However, Evelyn who couldn't leave the town for too long, finally returned after 6 years had passed. She occupied an old house that belonged to her parents who had passed away 11 years ago.
"I finally returned to this city. Although I intended to never return again, but I couldn't stay away for too long. Not even going to my parents' graves for almost more than 6 years," she muttered at that time while pulling the suitcase in her hand.
After returning to the city, she also met her old friends who were there including one man named Daniel.
The man who had also been accused of being her affair, even though her relationship with Daniel was only a close friend.
"I'm glad you're back, if you need anything you can ask me for it. I'd be very happy to help you," he said as he helped pull Evelyne's suitcase while his right hand held the hand of a boy.
"Thank you, Daniel. I'm very happy that you want to help me. It's been a while since we last met, and I didn't expect that you'd still want to be friends with me," she said.
"Of course I want to be friends with you, we've known each other since we were in high school."
They also chatted with each other about some of the things they had missed over the past six years, including Evelyne's plans after this.
The brunette said that she plans to start a job in a company.
"In 2 days I will be working in a big company, because they said they were looking for a woman to be a secretary. And luckily I was accepted to work at that place," Evelyn replied happily.
Daniel, who heard this, was also happy, because then Evelyne could pay for her life.
He had originally intended to help her by moving in with him, so Evelyne wouldn't have to work to support them. However, he was well aware of his friend's independent nature. So he didn't want to make her feel offended by his invitation.
They left the airport driving Daniel's car to her family's house. Even when they arrived, he helped her to tidy up the two rooms in the house and Evelyne would be occupying her late parents' room.
Two days later, Evelyne got off the bus at the bus stop to head to the company where she worked. It was her first day at work and she was excited for it.
Walking into the lobby, Evelyne approached the reception desk with a confident smile. She tried to remain calm to make a good impression on everyone.
"Good morning, my name is Evelyne Moretti. I asked to come to work today as a secretary," she introduced herself.
"Hello, Ms. Moretti. Please wait a moment, I'll call HR first," said the receptionist kindly.
The 29 year old woman nodded her head and stood waiting for the receptionist to finish calling HR. While waiting, she looked at the company's lobby, which seemed quite large and luxurious for a company.
Even though she heard that the company was a new company that was established approximately 6 years ago. But it was already quite successful and well known.
"Even so, I'm curious. Who is the CEO of this company. Because when I tried to find information about the owner of this company, I couldn't find any information," she muttered at the time.
All she know is her new CEO is a billionaire.
After almost a few minutes of waiting, the receptionist finally told Evelyne to just come to the 25th floor, where the CEO's room was located.
"Mr. Johansson said that you can come directly to the CEO's office. He's on the 25th floor, right in the hallway with the second door on the left, after you exit the elevator," she said with directions.
"Second left door on the 25th floor. Okay, thank you."
Without thinking, she entered the elevator and headed for the 25th floor, following the instructions the receptionist had given her. Keeping her smile, Evelyn exited the elevator and headed for the second door on the left in the hallway.
As she entered one of the office rooms, some of the employees saw her coming and started wondering who she was.
Because they didn't remember their HR announcing that a new employee would be working in the room with them.
"Who is she? I've never seen her in this company, I don't think she's someone who works on another floor either," one of them whispered to his friend.
"I don't know either, she could be a new employee. But she looks beautiful and elegant," his male friend replied.
They saw her heading towards the CEO's office, and they began to understand that she must be the new secretary who had been in demand for the past few weeks.
Knock knock
"Good morning, I'm Evelyne Moretti. I'm the new hire for the secretary position at this company, and Mr. Johansson said to come see you right away," she said.
There was no response for a few moments, until a man's voice that Evelyn found quite familiar reached her ears.
"Come in."
The woman opened the door and walked into the room, closing the door behind her. In front of her, the CEO's chair had its back to her so she could not see him.
"You finally came. I've been waiting for you to work for me."
Again Evelyne felt familiar with the CEO's voice, like she recognized it.
'That voice... Could it be him...' she thought as she walked closer.
Her heart was beating so fast, there was a feeling of fear inside her when she recognized the voice.
And once the chair turned to face her, she now saw the face she had recognized for few years.
A face she never wanted to see again, but fate had brought them together.
"Hello, Evelyn. Long time no see." he stood up from his seat, walked over to her and stood right in front of her.
His body towered over her with a cold stare in his eyes. A smirk appeared on the man's face.
"Or should I call you Ex Wife?"
