This was the a very remote island away from all the living once. People thought only some uncivilized people were kept isolated in this island. They were canibals and didnt allow outsiders to get inside the island alive. And the government of modern society tried to keep them secured from every harm of the modern society. But so called civilized modern people often spent fortunes to just to get inside the island trying to contact with the canibals and thus simply getting them killed and eaten. This actually wasn't the weird place, this was the only place remaining unchanged. This was the place where story of a cannibal monk began.
The cannibals of the island was cannibal and the loved having human flesh but that they didnt get in everyday menue. Only some of them was lucky to have a little once or twice a year at most. But what outsider know was no one actually entering the island ever returned not dead not alive. People tried sending drones and robots to spy but these were always destroyed and found. Government was trying hard to keep the nature and people undisturbed as well so there not many drones and robots sent. Still many got the footage of people sharing their food and that food was also people...
But this was none of the main problem of the modern society. Society always had problems like war, virus, natural disaster and sometimes problem like allian invasions or meteorite threats. Government was usually busy dealing with these issues while they never knew what might happen in this isolated and kept natural ancient island.
