Chapter 22 - 22

Lin Feng, who had finally enjoyed a few days of leisure, saw Tony Stark's live broadcast on TV again.

Watching the broadcast of the hearing about the surrender of Stark's Iron Man suit, Lin Feng understood that this was the plot of Iron Man 2.

That meant that Tony at this time should already be suffering from palladium poisoning.

And it might be even more severe than the blood toxin content in the original plot.

Tony's unyielding nature meant he wouldn't let Lin Feng be the sole focus of public attention.

The frequent use of the suit to appear in front of people led to the deepening of palladium poisoning.

After a moment of thought, Lin Feng got up and prepared to go to Stark's villa.

It was broad daylight, and flying would be too conspicuous, so Lin Feng chose to drive.

Upon arriving at Tony's villa, Lin Feng met Pepper Potts.

"Hey! Pepper, is Tony home?" Lin Feng asked as he approached the villa, "What's wrong with you? Did Tony make you angry?"

Lin Feng, who had gotten closer, sharply noticed that Pepper's face was frosty, clearly indicating she was angry.

"Oh! Mr. Lin Feng?" Pepper turned back with some surprise, then heard Lin Feng's question.

"That's right! You don't know what that bastard did!" As if finding someone to confide in, Pepper poured out the whole story like a bitter complaint.

"He donated all our modern art collections!"

"Without consulting me! Every single piece, all donated."

"Donated to what? To the Boy Scouts of America?" Pepper said angrily.

"Do you know, Lin Feng! I spent a full ten years organizing these things!"

"He didn't even say a word to me and just donated them all!"

Pepper stomped her foot in anger! Lin Feng awkwardly rubbed his nose.

"I'm not talking to you anymore, Lin Feng, I'm going to find him right now and get to the bottom of this!" With that, Pepper lifted her foot and walked towards the villa.

Seeing this, Lin Feng quickly stepped forward to stop Pepper.

"Hey, Pepper!"

"Tony... how should I put it, Tony has been going through some things lately." Lin Feng hesitated whether to reveal Tony's palladium poisoning.

"He's going through something? What could he possibly be going through?"

"Is he interested in another magazine cover girl?"

Thinking it was highly possible, an unnamed anger surged within Pepper.

"Alright, alright, Pepper..." Lin Feng said helplessly.

"You know, Tony has always used that thing to sustain his life." Lin Feng made a circle gesture on his chest.

"Arc Reactor?" Pepper asked, puzzled.

"Uh, yes..."

"That thing saved him, but at the same time, it's killing him!" Lin Feng explained, "The core of the reactor is palladium, and Tony is now suffering from palladium poisoning."

"I don't think he's found a solution yet."

"And if he can't find a new element to replace palladium, his life might be on a countdown."

"So he might..."

"...might not be in the best mood or state of mind!"

"Oh my god!" After hearing Lin Feng's explanation, Pepper immediately showed surprise and worry.

"He never told me!" At this moment, Pepper was somewhat flustered. Hearing Lin Feng say that Tony's life was on a countdown, her previous anger had long since vanished.

"No, I have to go in and see him!"

"Hey! Wait, Pepper!" Lin Feng called out to her again.

"I came here specifically to deal with Tony's palladium poisoning."

"Let me handle it, okay!"

"Do you have a way to cure him?" Pepper's eyes were filled with hope and expectation as she looked at Lin Feng.

"Yes, Miss Pepper, but it requires a little help from you!" Lin Feng smiled, "Can you prepare a pot of hot water and two cups for me?"

"Is that all?"

"Yes, if you could prepare that for me. For now, I'll go talk to Tony first!"

"Okay, alright. I'm counting on you, Mr. Lin Feng."

Pepper went upstairs to prepare hot water, half-believing, half-doubting. She knew she couldn't help with this herself.

She was willing but powerless, and now that Lin Feng said he had a way, Pepper could only trust him.

Seeing Pepper leave, Lin Feng walked towards the underground workshop, using his super hearing as he went, wanting to know how Tony was doing.

"How much of this disgusting stuff do I have to drink every day?" Tony Stark picked up a glass of chlorophyll juice with a disgusted look. The palladium poisoning made him feel dizzy and weak.

He took a large gulp, then pulled out a matchbox-sized metal device.

"Detect palladium content."

Tony pressed his finger on the device.

"Blood toxin content 43%, sir."

As Lin Feng had expected, the frequent use of the suit had caused Tony's blood toxin content to be almost half higher than in the original story.

"Continued use of the suit has aggravated your condition, sir."

Tony Stark irritably tapped the table, then was informed by Jarvis that the energy was depleted.

After replacing the new arc reactor core, Tony looked at the black spider tattoo on his chest, appearing even more helpless.

"Sir!" Jarvis suddenly reminded, "Mr. Lin Feng has arrived!"

"Lin? What's he doing here?" Jarvis quickly put down his T-shirt and took a sip of chlorophyll.

At this moment, Lin Feng had already walked in.

As soon as he entered, he saw Tony drinking chlorophyll juice.

"Hey, Tony, does it taste good?" Lin Feng couldn't help but tease. The taste of chlorophyll juice wasn't exactly terrible, but it wasn't good either.

"What is this? Your new formula drink, Tony?"

"That's right, green, healthy. I suggest you have a glass too, buddy!" When it came to verbal sparring, Tony wouldn't lose.

"What are you doing here, buddy!" Tony retorted, "Are you here to see my new formula drink?"

"Oh no! Tony, I'm here to have tea with you." Lin Feng waved his hand. He couldn't win against the dog system, and he couldn't even win against Tony.

"Tea? I don't have time for tea." Tony shook his head. He didn't like the bitter taste, just like chlorophyll. He drank it to alleviate the palladium poisoning.

"Don't say that, my friend! Believe me, not everyone gets to drink my tea."

Lin Feng stepped forward, unceremoniously putting his arm around Tony's shoulder and dragging him upstairs.

"It's much more effective than chlorophyll, you'll love it." Lin Feng said, pointing to the reactor on Tony's chest.

"You know?" Tony looked at Lin Feng, who was winking at him, and pointed to the reactor on his chest, asking uncertainly.

"Of course I know, Tony." Lin Feng sighed and said, "Palladium poisoning, I could have guessed that."

Hearing Lin Feng's answer, Tony seemed a bit silent.

He didn't know what to say, so he just let Lin Feng drag him to the sofa in the living room.

"Here's the hot water you wanted, Lin Feng!" Pepper came down carrying a tray, placing the hot water and cups on the table.

"Oh? Pepper, you're here too?" Tony raised an eyebrow and looked up.

Why did Pepper's expression seem a bit off today?

Tony turned to look at Lin Feng.

"Bro... she couldn't have..."

"That's right! I know, Tony!" Pepper also sat down on the sofa.

"Oh! God." Tony slapped his face, looking pained.

"Dude, are you going to let the whole world know I'm living on chlorophyll now!"

"You can't blame Lin Feng, Tony!" Pepper's beautiful eyes stared directly at Tony, with anger, grievance, but mostly worry.

"Why didn't you tell me?!"

Seeing Pepper get angry, Tony felt a bit tricky.

"Uh... Pepper, it's not that I didn't tell you."

"I've been looking for a way to deal with it, trust me, I can solve it."

"And even if I told you, it wouldn't help..."

As soon as these words came out, Pepper's face was instantly filled with grievance.

"Damn it!" Tony cursed under his breath for saying the wrong thing, thinking he was in trouble, and quickly tried to explain, "I didn't mean that, Pepper, I just..."

"You think I'm useless, don't you, Tony!" Tears welled up in Pepper's eyes.

"I quit, I'm going to quit!"

"Tony! You never care about anyone else's feelings!!"

"You even donated all my ten years of hard work! I've had enough!"

"NONONO." Tony was a bit flustered.

"I didn't say you were useless! I didn't mean that, Pepper, listen to me!"

"Then what do you mean?! You didn't even tell me you had palladium poisoning!"

The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved Pepper became, wiping away her tears.

"I mean..." Tony's eyes darted around, and he thought of how to calm Pepper's grievance.

"I want you to be the CEO..."
