Chapter 21 - 21

Lin Feng was quiet, but Susan couldn't calm down.

To be honest, she regretted coming to work today.

She should have listened to Lin and taken a day off to rest at home.

But now, as closing time approached, the company's notorious busybody noticed something unusual about her.

Her strange walking posture and the silver chain on her fair neck.

"Oh! My God!" the busybody shrieked.

"Susan, are you in love?"

Oh no! Susan's heart skipped a beat.

Sure enough, the next second, all her colleagues turned their gaze to her.

That damned busybody.

Susan suppressed the urge to slap her, forced a smile with a cold face, and said, "Yes..."

"Is that so strange?"

"Oh! I knew it, Susan," the busybody said with a gossipy expression.

"Is that necklace your boyfriend's gift?"

"I remember never seeing you wear jewelry before."

"Such a big gem, it can't be cheap!"

Susan was exasperated, fed up with this busybody.

What business is it of yours whether I wear jewelry or not?

The busybody's deliberately loud voice was heard clearly throughout the office, and everyone started whispering.

"Hey, I was right, Susan really has a boyfriend."

"Is it that luxury car that picked her up yesterday? Has Susan hooked up with a rich man?"

"Then will she quit and live the life of a rich wife?"

"I'm so envious. I heard the car that picked her up yesterday was from Stark Industries."

"It can't be Tony Stark, can it?! Ah!"

"What nonsense are you talking about? I heard it was a young man. He seems to be Asian."

"Very handsome..."

The discussions grew louder and louder, and Susan held a cup of coffee with a helpless expression.

Colleagues! Your whispers are a bit too loud!

"Oh! Susan, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!" The busybody also realized her impropriety, feigned a guilty look, and apologized profusely to Susan, though she felt no remorse in her heart.

This woman was prettier than her, and her performance was better than hers.

She pretended to be aloof all day, but in the end, she found someone incredibly rich.

She had been at odds with Susan for a long time. Last time, she begged Susan to give her the Superman photos she had taken, but this bitch ruthlessly refused and gave the photos to a new employee. The busybody had held a grudge ever since.

Some people are just like that; you don't provoke them, but they just can't stand to see you doing well.

"It's fine, it's okay... you go back to work."

Susan waved her hand helplessly, signaling her to leave quickly and stop hovering around her.

"Susan!" Amidst the colleagues' chatter, an angry roar suddenly erupted.

Hearing that roar, the busybody's lips curled into a cold smile; her goal had been achieved.

She had noticed Susan was acting strangely early on but deliberately waited until John arrived to speak, just to trip Susan up.

"Oh my goodness, it's John."

"Oh no, oh no, there's going to be a show."

All the gossip-loving colleagues widened their eyes, stopped working, and stared at Susan.

John rushed to Susan with a furious expression, the fat on his face trembling incessantly.

When he heard Susan had a boyfriend and connected it with Susan's strange walking posture, he seemed to understand something.

Instantly, rage shot to his head, as if he had been struck by lightning.

It was as if his most important, precious flower, which he had nurtured for so long, had been plucked by someone else.

"How could you get a boyfriend!" John's face was contorted with fury, almost shouting, which made Susan recoil two steps.

"You, are you sick, John!" Susan felt both angry and amused: "What business is it of yours if I get a boyfriend?"

"You!" John was so flustered he couldn't speak, his fat face flushed, and he pointed at Susan, trembling continuously.

Right, why should she tell you if she has a boyfriend?

"You! Are you involved with him?! How could you do this?!" John's heart was bleeding.

"Tell me, are you with him just for the money?!" An enraged John lost his reason and slandered her.

Slap!

A crisp sound rang out, and Susan, her face full of anger, slapped John.

"John! Are you insulting my character?!"

Everyone stared at the two in stunned silence, the entire office quieted down, so much so that you could hear a pin drop... This was too explosive... John, stunned by the slap, froze for a moment before coming to his senses and instinctively argued, "No, Susan."

"You know my feelings for you. How could you get a boyfriend without my permission?"

Susan was once again exasperated by this bizarre statement.

"John! I explicitly rejected you; I don't like your type."

"We are just colleagues!"

"Please stop bothering me; my boyfriend will be unhappy if he finds out!"

With that, Susan turned and walked away, her posture a bit strange, which made John instantly want to explode on the spot.

"What are you looking at?! Don't you have work to do?!"

John saw everyone in the office staring at him in astonishment, which made him even angrier, and he started yelling.

Seeing John look over, the gossipers quickly lowered their heads and pretended to work diligently.

John now resembled a ferocious hyena, snapping at anyone he saw, and they didn't want to get involved.

Looking at Susan's retreating figure, John's sinister eyes were filled with jealousy and resentment.

"Bitch, you'll regret this!"

After muttering quietly, John turned and walked towards his office.

He poured and drank a whole large glass of cold water, but John's anger did not subside in the slightest.

Susan was beautiful, lovely, and full of the lively aura of someone fresh out of school, not yet faded.

Her every frown and smile captivated John's attention.

It could be said that Susan was the most appealing flower he had encountered in his philandering life, and the only one he couldn't pluck.

Now, she had been taken by someone else, which was simply a humiliation for John.

"Damn it!" John roared. He was absolutely going to make Susan, and her so-called boyfriend, regret it.

If he couldn't have her, he would destroy her; no one would have a good time!

As John was fuming, a knock suddenly sounded at his office door.

"Knock, knock, knock~"

"Who is it?" John asked impatiently.

"It's me."

The door was pushed open, and the person who entered was the busybody, who loved to stir up trouble.

"Flora?" John looked at the person.

Flora and he had countless connections, and she was one of his informants at the radio station.

Although Flora was plain-looking and had crow's feet at the corners of her eyes.

But Flora was good at getting things done, and she was skilled in bed. John was a man who didn't discriminate, so he naturally wouldn't let her go.

"What is it, Flora?" John took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and asked.

Flora leaned forward and sat on the desk, her round buttocks making John's mouth dry, and the anger he had just suppressed reignited.

"I know! You must want to get revenge on Susan, right!" Flora said.

"Don't rush to deny it! That bitch, she actually dared to betray you!" Flora reached out a finger and pressed it against John's thick lips.

"I have a complete plan, do you want to hear it?!" Flora continued to tempt him. She had John's personality figured out; this incompetent fellow was someone who held grudges and sought revenge for every slight.

"Oh? Tell me about it?" Sure enough, John hesitated only slightly before being somewhat moved.

Flora and he were in the same boat; they had done many things that harmed the radio station's interests, so he wasn't afraid that Flora would betray him.

Seeing John take the bait, Flora flashed a seductive smile, pulled out a stack of documents, placed them in front of John, and began to explain her plan... Listening to Flora's plan, John's eyes grew brighter and brighter. He hadn't expected this woman to be so clever.

He couldn't help but praise, "Excellent! Flora!"

"I didn't expect you to come up with this plan."

John's eyes gleamed as he stared at the stack of documents on the desk.

"And most importantly, with this evidence, that bitch won't be able to escape!"

Flora sneered disdainfully, "That bitch, she can't fight us, can she, my dear John?"

"She actually gave up such a charming man like you for a pretty boy; I don't even know what she's thinking!"

Flora shamelessly flattered John, knowing that if she made him comfortable, she would get the benefits she wanted.

This trick of hers had always worked, otherwise, with her abilities, how could she have gotten into BBC Television?

"Hmm, you're right." John smiled contentedly.

Seeing Flora still looking at him without speaking, he fully understood what Flora meant.

Without fodder, the horse couldn't run.

"Alright, I'll communicate with the higher-ups. The job of following Superman will be yours from now on!"

"Now, help me cool down first!" Saying that, John grabbed Flora's head and pushed it downwards.

A hint of disgust flashed in Flora's eyes, but she didn't refuse.

The plan to deal with Susan quietly unfolded amidst their secret plotting...
