Chapter 247 - First, Wall Gwen, Then...

"Venom Blade… he…" Spider-Gwen clearly had some reservations.

Miles seized the opportunity, pressing on, "Gwen, have you forgotten? If it weren't for Mr. Venom Blade's leadership, how would we have defeated Kingpin and his crew, destroyed the Super Collider, and helped you all return to your own worlds? If Mr. Venom Blade was a bad guy, why would he help us?"

Spider-Gwen was deep in thought.

Peter, standing to the side, silently gave him a thumbs up.

Then…

Swoosh—

Black Venom Blade symbiote biomass spilled from the void, quickly forming into Peter in a Venom Blade state.

Spider-Gwen was startled at first, then quickly retreated, "Who are you!"

Because she didn't get a Spider-Sense reaction, she didn't immediately connect the Venom Blade with Peter.

"My name is Peter Parker. You can also call me, Venom Blade. I'm the one you're looking for," Peter said.

Spider-Gwen frowned, looking at Peter with extreme caution.

"You say you're Peter Parker? Or Spider-Man? Venom Blade Spider-Man? But I didn't feel my Spider-Sense trigger."

According to her experiences in the Spider-Man Alliance, when different Spider-Men met, their Spider-Sense would automatically trigger.

Only after the first meeting, when the Spider-Sense remembered each other's signals, wouldn't it trigger again.

Although Peter and Spider-Gwen weren't really meeting for the first time.

They had met a year ago, and fought side-by-side.

But at that time, Peter was using the Blonde Spider-Man's body, and the Venom Blade form was something she'd encountered for the first time. Spider-Gwen naturally assumed it was a "signal of attention" from the Spider-Sense, related to the Blonde Spider-Man, not the Venom Blade.

Who knew Peter wouldn't waste time with her.

His past experiences told him that many people around Spider-Man would experience inexplicable situations that led to misunderstandings.

These misunderstandings could even lead to disaster.

To prevent such occurrences, the best approach was to nip them in the bud, to eliminate the misunderstandings before they could take root!

So, Peter flashed.

Swoosh!

His figure appeared behind Spider-Gwen almost instantaneously, and with a pull of his arm, he slammed Spider-Gwen against the container behind her, pinning her against it.

Only then did Spider-Gwen react.

She raised her hand to fight back, but Peter pressed it back down before she could even lift it fully, using a stream of Black Webbing to stick her hand to the container.

She tried to lift her leg to use Lethal Kick, but Peter nudged his foot forward, and Spider-Gwen's slender, rounded legs were pushed back.

Shwip— Shwip—

After two more streams of webbing, Peter retreated.

Spider-Gwen was already stuck to the container wall.

"Mr. Venom Blade, what are you doing! Stop it!" Miles asked, standing where he was.

Peter tilted his head slightly and glanced at him: "I'm trying to figure out the truth."

Then, he turned to Spider-Gwen: "Tell me, why do you have hostility towards me? I don't think I'm some kind of big villain. The Spider-Man Alliance you're up against shouldn't be me, right?"

Spider-Gwen glared at Peter, her eyes scrutinizing him, but she didn't say a word, looking as if she would rather die than speak.

Peter was a little speechless. "Don't make me out to be a villain. I'm here to help you guys, not to fight you, and definitely not to be fought by you."

"If you're not here to fight us, why did you suddenly attack me and tie me up?" Spider-Gwen said, twisting her body.

"Uh..." Peter looked at Spider-Gwen's body, which he had stuck with webbing. Her curves were beautiful and delicate, oh wow, she was well-endowed.

Miles, standing to the side, was dumbfounded.

"Ahem," Peter knocked on Miles' head, turned his head, and coughed lightly, saying seriously, "It's because you showed hostility towards me first, so I had to restrain you first. I think we should have a good chat to avoid deepening the misunderstanding. Communication is a great gift of humanity, isn't it?"

Spider-Gwen was silent, but Peter could see her wavering.

So he struck while the iron was hot, "A long, long time ago, when humans had just evolved from ancient apes, why did some evolve into humans, and some became gorillas?"

"Why?" Miles was really a good straight man, Peter found him much more pleasing to the eye now.

Peter said, "Because they didn't communicate well. The ancestors of humanity who came down from the trees developed brains, while the ancient apes that stayed in the trees didn't. Without brains, they couldn't communicate, couldn't reason, couldn't tell them the benefits of doing things differently. So misunderstandings deepened, and that's how it became what it is now."

Spider-Gwen: ??? Miles: ???

"Pfft—" Spider-Gwen stifled a giggle, but finally couldn't help it and burst out laughing, "You're kidding, humans and apes aren't even remotely like that."

But her expression quickly darkened.

Because she suddenly realized Peter's words had hidden meanings.

He meant: if Spider-Gwen refused to communicate with him, she would be like the unevolved ancient apes in the story, lacking brains. Only by communicating with him properly would she be considered a person.

He's a cultured guy, and he's good at insults.

Spider-Gwen's face puffed up at once, glaring at Peter.

Peter chuckled and poked her face, deflating her.

"Alright, can we talk now? To show I'm serious, let me reintroduce myself. I really am Peter Parker, a Peter Parker with the ability to travel through time and space. I've accepted invitations from many different Spider-Men to go to many different worlds and have encountered many strange things. Oh, and I also know that in many worlds, Gwen Stacy falls in love with Peter Parker. Gwen, have you fallen in love with me?"

Spider-Gwen's face darkened: "It's a good thing the Peter from my world isn't as thick-skinned as you."

Peter relaxed inwardly seeing this.

Spider-Gwen's tone had completely changed, and she was very likely convinced.

So, Peter reached out and fiddled with Spider-Gwen, removing his webbing, and invited Spider-Gwen: "I want to know, why did you become hostile toward me when you heard Miles mention me just now."

Spider-Gwen took a deep breath and said, "Miguel has the ability to locate Spider-Men from different parallel universes. When they found me, I mentioned you to him, hoping you would also join the Spider-Man Alliance and become a mainstay of the alliance. But after Miguel searched based on your information, he didn't find your universe."
