Chapter 3 - Happily Ever After

''Baiye,''

His heart warmed again at her beautiful smile as he leaned more on the table to hear her speak.

''Now that we have successfully cultivated enough to become Gods, I think it's time for me and you to leave for the God realm, don't you think?''

His dark lips curved into a slight smile as he preferred if he stared at her like this and listened to her talk. He would follow her everywhere her heart desires. She was the one with the dream of one day being a God and it became his dream as well.

Though they were still friends after all these years, he had never regretted staying by her side since they learned their first qi development and protected her as he should.

She was the apple of his eyes.

The very secret of his heart that people have tried so many times to fight their way in.

He saved her from being harassed by a bunch of sinful immortals when she was young and they have been friends, siblings and cultivator partners. Sharing both weal and woe, providing and striving to fulfil her every wish.

People have always criticized how he had spoiled her but anyone that dares to scold or harm her in any way would face death.

No one was even allowed to make her cry or uncomfortable in any way.

But with time, his love begged him to allow another miserable immortal like them join their family. Of course, he agreed, because when had he ever said no?

They were the three immortals crazy enough to want to become Gods. They built the Red Central Tower with their hands, blood and sweat for many years and lived in isolation to fulfil their—-her dream.

Her adorable self leaned on the table as she gave him a playful smile and asked, ''So, what are the things you are bringing along with you to the God Realm?''

His dark lips parted slightly to answer her question when she cut him off.

''Uh…don't say something as cringeworthy as, 'I will bring only you. Only you is enough for me to bring to the God realm with me,' big brother.''

Big brother. That's all he would ever be in her eyes.

''Cangmo is bringing his twin blades and poisonous ivy. I am taking my mirror of worlds with me.''

He nodded softly.

''What are you bringing with you?'' Her eyes narrowed at him that he should dare not say what she suspected that he would say.

His diamond gaze moved around the room they were in as he figured how to escape this.

''I will bring…the golden statue…with me.''

Yuerong's mouth dropped at him in disbelief.

''Seriously? Big brother? That statue is like a one hundred feet golden statue of me! Don't you have anything else you consider valuable that isn't me?''

He thought about it and blinked.

There was none.

Yuerong scoffed before settling back down on the soft cushion. Her hands cradling both sides of her face as she leaned on the table sighing in and out.

''When we get to the God Realm, big brother, I have decided to confess my feelings to Cangmo.''

He tried not to look so hurt. He had known from the first day she met the immortal that she liked him, romantically, which is why she insisted they all be friends.

''Really?''

She nodded with a smile.

''I like him a lot and I know he plays dumb not to see that I like him or he has no heart at all to be attracted to a beauty like me.''

''I mean,'' she straightened up as it bothered her a lot. ''Am I not beautiful enough for him to feel the slightest bit drawn to me, big brother?''

He didn't say a word as he preferred not to get himself involved in this.

''It doesn't matter. Although he is the only one among the three of us that hasn't become a God yet, we are still taking him along with us to the God realm. I will confess my feelings to him and convince him to marry me while we both figure out how to turn him to a God as well. Then we will live happily ever after. Isn't that right?''

He didn't know what else to say but to nod his head if that would make her happy. He would hate to be the reason she couldn't pursue what makes her happy. If his love for her wouldn't bring her the happiness that she desires, then who is he to come in the way?

As long as Cangmo makes her happy for as long as he lives, then the three realms would be at peace.

She sighed in contentment before looking at her big brother again.

''Maybe when we get to the God realm you would also find someone like Cangmo in your life as well, big brother. Though I still believe you shouldn't be so cold and distant toward the thousands of immortal females lined up at our doorstep daily just to have a glance at your beautiful self,'' she said while wiggling her fingers before him.

''I don't think any of those desperate are ugly or aren't worthy of your love and affection, don't you think, big brother?''

He made no move but stared at her while reaching over the table to hold her hands.

''Big brother, it will be so amazing if when I and Cangmo get married and the next day we hold yours as well in the God Realm. Don't you think?''

He just nodded as he absentmindedly ran his thumbs along her precious fingers.

Yuerong giggled at her imagination.

It would be perfect.

Life would be perfect for the both of them in the God realm.

She and Cangmo, along with her gorgeous Big Brother.

''Uh, Cangmo should be back by now from hunting down a divine beast for me. I will go check up on him.''

She stood up hurriedly from the table and turned around to leave.

''Yuerong,'' he called softly. Even the name he gave her was perfect.

The girl turned around and blinked at her big brother, wondering what else he wanted to say to her.

''I will not let anything bad happen to you,'' he promised.

Yuerong had always heard him say that to her time and time again. Ever since he saved and met her, he had always been so protective and promising no harm shall befall her as long as he was close.

Of course, she smiled at him, taking his promise lightly and left to see her Cangmo.

As he made a dive into the swamp river, sensing her dying aura. He wondered to himself how he let this unfortunate event happen to her on his watch.
