Morgana knocked on the command post door at midmorning.
She came in with the specific quality she had when she'd completed one thing and was ready to begin the next — focused, direct, the thousand-year-old efficiency of someone who processed transitions faster than most people processed single events.
Satou was at the desk. Lyra was at her desk. Freda was at the secondary desk.
Morgana looked at all three of them.
"The pregnancy assessment for week sixteen," she said. "The formation rate has stabilized slightly. Still accelerating but the week-on-week increase has reduced from thirty-one percent to eighteen percent." She looked at Lyra. "Good news: the timeline compression is less severe than the maximum estimate. Current projection: thirty-three weeks total, not twenty-eight."
