Theron walked the new section with Satou on the morning of the twenty-eighth day after the stand-down.
He didn't explain the construction decisions — Theron understood building in the specific way of someone who had been doing it long enough that the explanations were for other people rather than for himself. He walked and Satou walked beside him and the walk was the explanation.
"Good," Satou said, at the end of it.
"Better than good," Theron said. "It'll hold things the previous section couldn't."
"What kind of things," Satou said.
Theron thought about it.
"The kind of things we've been encountering," he said. "High-tier magical assault. Direct demon lord-level attack." He paused. "The old section was built against armies. This one's built against what we've actually been facing."
Satou looked at the new section.
