The sky grumbles loudly, lightning striking with the trees bending in different directions as darkness looms over Evermore Kingdom. It was an ominous night and fear gripped the people of Evermore Kingdom. The children cried loudly, looking at their parents who were on the floor dead. The streets were filled with dead bodies and broken wagons, the warriors matching down the streets and destroying everything they laid their hands upon. Their Kingdom has been conquered and the borders broken.
Meanwhile, in the palace. King Julius was on his knees with his sons and wives with swords on their necks. The King of the North had broken into the palace, killing his warriors. His heart ached in anger and shame. His kingdom has been conquered so easily, his people have died, and now he is at the mercy of the king of the North.
"Where is the princess?" The deep voice boomed, and the guards all stood by the corners, swords placed on their necks as they watched their king on his knees in defeat. They couldn't do anything; the King of the North had come for their princess, and he wasn't leaving without going with her. King Julius shook, his heart beating loudly as he looked into the cold eyes of the King of the North, but although he was scared, his eyes lit up in stubbornness, his nose flaring up in anger. He wasn't going to give in to his demands so easily.
"We can't give you the princess; she belongs to another," he said, his voice loud and clear, different from what he felt inside. King Julius was a man with a big ego; he was as stubborn as ever. This was not the time to be stubborn; the king of the North is not so merciful; he would kill him without batting an eye, and that was confirmed as anger swirled in his eyes with his eyebrows raised up in anger.
"You dare refuse me?" he asked, his voice low as anger surged through him. How dare this king think he can refuse him? He wanted the princess, and he would get her no matter what.
"We simply can't…" King Julius was cut off with a swipe of the sword. The guards gasped loudly, with his son's eyes widening in shock as his wife fell to the floor with a loud wail.
"Your majesty!" they cried, as his head rolled down to the floor with blood splashing on their faces. King Julius has been killed right in front of them.
"Where is the princess?" he asked, placing his sword on the first prince neck. He was going to kill anyone who got in his way of having the princess, and he would burn down this kingdom for her. Prince Williams shook, watching his father's dead body on the floor.
"I'm here," a soft voice said, and everyone looked up as Princess Daphne stood by the side. Her eyes looked at the scene in front of her blankly; her father had locked her up in her room. She only managed to escape, but she couldn't imagine she was going to come out and find his decapitated body. The King gave her a long look; finally, she was in front of him. Her golden hair was a mess, her blue eyes void of emotions as she stood in her undergarments. He clipped back his sword, turning around.
Daphne didn't need to be told; she turned to follow him, not once looking at her family. As she walked through the palace hallways, all she saw was dead bodies. The king has killed so many people; she wished her father had not locked her up in her room. She had no idea what was happening; she would have come outside sooner. They got to the front of the palace, and the guards led her to the carriage. Daphne did as they said, not saying a word. She knew the king of the North wasn't going to give up; her father had been a fool to keep her away. How is the kingdom ever going to survive this massacre?
"Let's move," she heard from the outside of the carriage. Daphne looked out the window, breathing out as the carriage started moving. She was the only one in the carriage; the king was in a different carriage, and she could see some warriors riding on the horse. The king of the North didn't come with many warriors, so how did they defeat her kingdom? They killed a lot of people, and there were dead bodies everywhere. Daphne was tired of looking at the gruesome scene, so she closed her window, breathing out.
She was leaving her kingdom for the first time she was born. How was she going to cope in another kingdom? The kingdom is a faraway place, and their ways were vastly different. She knows nothing about the king except he has many wives and concubines; how is she going to survive in the palace? What is the king going to do to her? Daphne was confused, and she rubbed her hands together in nervousness.
She never imagined this would happen to her, and she only wanted to sleep it off so she could forget how miserable her life was about to become, but even sleep was extremely far from her. The carriage kept going, everyone in their thoughts. The journey back to the palace was days long, and they didn't stop for a break. Daphne felt sick to her stomach and cold. She held her stomach in hunger as it kept grumbling.
She felt she was about to pass out. Daphne was just remembering she had nothing to eat the day before after her father suddenly locked her in the room. The worms in her stomach were hungry and chewing in each part of her stomach, but she knew the King of North wasn't merciful enough to stop and feed her before they got to the palace. Daphne decided she was going to stay mute until they got to the palace, and hopefully, she wouldn't pass out.
