Chapter 6 - 6

Two years passed in a flash, and unexpectedly, Wade found him again in less than two years!

"Stop with the nonsense. For old times' sake, tell me what's going on. Let's see if I can help!" Lu Chen pushed away the scoundrel who was leaning on him, saying with a look of disgust.

Although he wasn't in that line of work anymore, the connections and channels were still there. Not to mention, Lu Chen's predecessor had made quite a few acquaintances, so his information network in Hell's Kitchen was still quite well-informed.

Wade was overjoyed and completely ignored Lu Chen's expression as he explained his situation.

It turned out that Wade had come here chasing a scoundrel.

While Lu Chen had quit, Wade had taken up mercenary work and planned to do it for several decades. A few days ago, he took on another job, a rather big one!

In the past two years, Wade's mood had adjusted, and he had become increasingly daring.

His target this time was a playboy, the second-generation heir of a crime boss, and the client was a jilted victim.

Although the victim couldn't afford to offend the other party, he still wanted to find someone to teach him a lesson, preferably breaking one of his legs; if not, then just a good beating.

Wade didn't think there would be any consequences at all.

Being skilled and bold, he took the job.

However, he later found himself in a pickle.

Heaven knows how afraid his father was of his son dying, so he assigned four bodyguards to him. Wade, caught off guard, let him escape.

Wade was also stubbornly determined. Faced with such a situation, he still insisted on completing his mission, so he came here, wanting Lu Chen to help him investigate.

He even insisted on breaking one of the other party's legs!

And it had to be his middle leg!

"I think, instead of doing that, you might as well kill them all. That way, you can avoid retaliation afterward!" Lu Chen thought for a moment and said to him.

These were all words of experience!

The guys in Hell's Kitchen were not easy to deal with; if you didn't completely kill them, there would be crazy retaliation afterward.

Wade was noncommittal!

He just wanted to complete the mission; everything else could wait!

"But, does that mean you're willing to help?"

Chapter 5: Unexpected Situation

Lu Chen still decided to help.

"I'll help you ask some old acquaintances if they can find anything. But don't get your hopes up too high; after all, I haven't done this for two years!" Lu Chen didn't make any guarantees.

"I believe in you, you can definitely do it!" Wade gave Lu Chen a big heart gesture with a look of affection.

Lu Chen felt like punching him again!

However, he managed to restrain himself. The current Wade wasn't the future Deadpool, and Lu Chen was genuinely worried he might kill him.

He shifted his attention, picked up the phone on the table, clarified some basic information about the target with Deadpool, and began communicating with some of his old acquaintances.

About five minutes later, Lu Chen hung up the phone.

"How was it?" Wade immediately asked Lu Chen.

"I found him, but..."

"What?" Wade asked curiously.

"Old rules!"

Wade immediately clutched his wallet, his face showing signs of pain.

Lu Chen wasn't an information broker, but he also needed to make a living. Such valuable information required some compensation. "Old rules" naturally meant payment.

And precisely, Wade was unwilling to pay!

"How about this, settle the bill with one of your knives, how about it?" Lu Chen had his eye on one of Wade's knives.

"You're too ruthless!" Wade said with a mournful expression.

Although Wade's knives weren't as exaggerated as they would be in the future, they were still custom-made at great expense, using some precious metals.

At this moment, he would rather Lu Chen ask for money... No, it would be best if he asked for nothing at all.

"No knives, no money, no life. You figure it out!" Wade said like a rogue.

Lu Chen: "..."

You're so stingy!

Wade completely ignored Lu Chen's expression, hugging his knife and clutching his wallet, looking like he wouldn't give in.

That look was even more roguish than a rogue!

Helpless, Lu Chen could only say, "It's okay if I just borrow it, right?"

"Well..."

"If you dare say no, I'll throw you out, from the window!"

"This is the third floor?"

"Exactly, that'll show you my attitude even more clearly!"

Although Wade was unwilling, he could only reluctantly and begrudgingly hand over his knife.

"You have to take good care of it, and also, let's be clear, if this knife gets scratched, there will be maintenance fees!"

Wade handed over his knife as if he were handing over his lover, not only looking reluctant but also chattering incessantly. Lu Chen found it so annoying that he finally snatched the knife away.

"Why haven't I seen you so wishy-washy before?"

"That's because you scoundrel haven't tried to take away my livelihood before!" Wade muttered softly, looking at his knife with a pained expression.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing, I just wanted to say, can you tell me now?"

Unable to win the fight, Wade also cowered.

"Of course!"
