Chapter 9 - The Fight For Love

"It never ends"

A young boy sat alone in a classroom filled with chatter. Though these chatters were directed at him, yet he avoided confrontation.

"Why me?"

The young boy was now seen being pushed onto the rough ground of cement, scraping the young boy arm and leg that were used to protect himself against the fall.

"They kept going"

The young boy now sat alone at a table, far in the corner with an expression devoid of emotion. It lacked the creativity, imagination, and importantly, it lacked the love of a child. It was the face of a shell void of its essence.

"And going"

The young boy sat in a puddle of muddy water. His clothes stained in the brown color of the dirty water and he sat alone. His crimson eyes were dim and void.

"and going..."

The young boy sat slumped at a desk, surrounded by his classmates that were laughing at his misfortune. Trash littered across his table and over his head, curtsey of the same group of people that were causing his misfortune that other's found amusing.

"Until...I couldn't take it"

The young boy sat alone, surrounded by a pool of crimson liquid that stained every inch of the asphalt ground. Countless bodies littered around the boy who sat amongst the fallen, drenched in the crimson liquid that matched the glint of his ruby colored eyes.

"I... enjoyed it"

The young boy stood alone in a room painted in all white and a single rubber duck in the middle of the white room.

"You've completed rehabilitation. You are free to walk amongst society again"

A scruff tone proclaimed and soon after his words were set in stone, the right side of the wall opened and revealed a facility that contained various people like him.

"You're a lucky kid. Most don't make it to rehabilitation. Have fun."

An older man spoke to the young boy who remained impassive, waiting for his release. This made the older man sigh and guide the young boy to the exit, releasing him back into the world after six years of complete isolation.

"Ah yes, it was pleasant being in your care. I'll do right by it"

The young boy stated with a smile. A smile that lacked definite emotions. Then the young boy began his journey. A goal to become the strongest so that no one can do what's been done to him in the past.

"maybe...I'll do it again?"

A sigh escaped the young boy mouth as he finally arrived at an academy. His soulless expression held firm, and he step forward through the large fancy gates.

"Welcome to Starlight Academy! home to-"

Suddenly an enthusiastic blond-haired man appeared from thin air, attempting to preach a welcoming but was cut off when the young boy raised his hand to cut him off mid-sentence.

"Can you just show me my schedule."

The young boy asked in slight irritation, his face remaining unmoving, emotionless. This lackluster statement made the teacher extroverted exterior faulter albeit subtly.

"Very well, welcome to the greatest academy of the current generation. Starlight Academy. Let us start pick your classes Iruna Buro."

The teacher exclaimed in a tone of content and in moments, they found themselves inside a large office. Despite the sudden teleportation, Iruna's emotionless mask did not faulter. Instead, he simply glanced around to remember the layout of the room.

"Let's get started. You'll be choosing which course piques your interest. The first three basic courses will be history, combat training and spiritual study. Just pick the classes you want."

The teacher exclaimed upon handing the young Iruna a sheet of paper. Iruna glanced over the sheet of paper and began pondering.

"I'll take science-magic theory, system control, biology and astronomy"

Iruna stated as the faculty member nodded and circled a few things down on his own sheet of paper. Suddenly, they now stood in a classroom that has yet to be started. Their sudden appearance made everyone focus on them, many with confusion written over their faces at Iruna's presence.

"Okay class! today we have a new student joining us so please be nice."

The teacher proclaimed with a wide smile, turning to the young Iruna who simply stood there waiting for his introduction.

"My name is Iruna Buro. I transferred here from overseas, nice to meet everyone"

Iruna proclaimed and was directed to his seat at the back of the classroom, next to the window that revealed the front entrance of the academy.

'What if they found out? What will they think of me?'

Iruna sat quietly at his desk in thought, his mind running static and drowning out the voice of the teacher. Eventually, Iruna was snapped out of his stupor when someone tapped him on the shoulder. His crimson eyes darting to look over at the person who wanted his attention.

"Hi Iruna, want to be friends?"

A pink haired girl asked with a wide smile, her hot pink eyes meeting Iruna's despair filled crimson eyes. Iruna noticed that the girl had her hair styled in a unique way, adorning a ponytail that resembled the infinity symbol.

"I apologize...but I must decline that offer.'

Iruna exclaimed in a subtle sigh, turning his gaze towards the window after his brief statement. This left everyone in the classroom shocked and speechless. With nothing else to say, the pink haired girl simply turned and left the classroom, heading towards the cafeteria.

"D-did you just decline being friends with THE Kiya Otoski?!"

A young boy around the same age as Iruna asked in disbelief. Though to his surprise, Iruna simply glanced at him and said nothing, which spoke volumes itself.

"Who?"

Iruna asked in a tone void of even the simplest emotion such as confusion, though his question gave away his curiosity. iruna chin rested gently on the back of his hand, an impassive expression still holding strong on his face.

"Kiya Otoski. She's the highest-ranking student in the whole district despite only being in middle school like us. She's also said to be the heir to the infinity system."

The young boy proclaimed and much to his shock, Iruna curiosity was piqued at the mention of the infinity system. Though it is an extremely rare system, Iruna knew that it was without a doubt an overly powerful system that would make her nearly infinite in power.

"I see."

Iruna exclaimed as he stood up upon hearing the bell for their next class, exiting the classroom and entering the hallways that were filled with many students from elementary to highschoolers. Though only one person stood out to Iruna amongst the crowd and that was Aniyah Konoshi.

Her fair skin gave a subtle glossy hue against the sunlight that struck her pale features. Her silky, long, soft black textured hair touched her midback and her light purple eyes scanned the crowd. That is when she made eye contact with Iruna for the first time.

'Beautiful...'

'Handsome...'

A subtle blush rested on both their cheeks as they silently broke eye contact and continued with their day. Unbeknownst that this will be the beginning to a complicated love.
