Chapter 133 - 133

"R-Really? Thank you… No—thank you."

Oli was so excited that she almost blurted out thank you, husband, but at the last moment she stopped herself, feeling it wasn't appropriate yet.

After deciding to go to the city hospital in the afternoon, Elric prepared to set off.

Before leaving, however, he gave clear instructions to Natasha and the others.

He told them to begin developing the shelter as soon as possible, starting with the Ginkgo Residence Community as the foundation.

Natasha and the others immediately accepted the task without hesitation.

Right after that, Elric took out hundreds of thousands of units of supplies from his space and placed them directly onto the air base island. He told them to use these resources freely to develop the shelter. If more materials were needed later, they could ask him at any time.

After a short meeting on the base island, everyone began to split up and handle their own responsibilities.

Natasha and the other women gathered together to discuss the structure and management of the shelter.

Elizabeth wasted no time and returned straight to the laboratory.

Oli, meanwhile, stayed close to Elric, ready to leave with him.

With a thought, a beam passage appeared beneath Elric's feet.

This passage worked differently depending on location. On the base island, anyone authorized by Elric could summon it with a thought. Outside the base, however, the beam could only appear within the base's coverage range.

The light flashed.

Elric and Oli vanished from the air base and headed toward the city hospital.

The hospital was far from quiet.

The second floor had already been destroyed.

On the ground level below, dozens of armed men gathered—mostly strong-built men, around forty to fifty of them. They didn't carry firearms, but each held a machete, steel rod, or improvised blade.

Because there was no electricity, they had smashed hospital equipment and furniture, using it as firewood.

Above the fire, chunks of unknown meat were being roasted.

At the staircase leading from the second to the third floor, a middle-aged man in a security uniform sat lazily on a stool. His yellowed teeth showed as he grinned.

He was the leader.

Beside him stood over a dozen subordinates, gripping clubs and pipes, their expressions vicious.

In front of him was a small folding table.

On it lay instant noodle cups, ham sausages, and boiled eggs.

Before the disaster, these things were worthless.

Now, they were luxury goods.

"It's been an hour," the man said casually while slurping noodles. "Keep shouting at them."

With a wave of his hand, his men began kicking the iron security door ahead.

The reinforced door leading to the third floor shook violently under repeated blows.

As they kicked, the men shouted inside.

"Director Lee, listen up!"

"Our boss is giving you one last hour!"

"Hand over Nurse Emily or Dr. Anna!"

"If you do, we'll leave you alone for now!"

"Otherwise, when this door breaks—"

"We'll turn every one of you into dried meat!"

Behind the iron door, thirty to forty people huddled together.

Doctors. Nurses. Administrative staff.

Fear was written on every face.

"What do we do?"

"That door won't hold much longer…"

"They'll really kill us…"

All eyes turned toward a balding, middle-aged man with a tired expression.

He was Vice Director Benjamin Lee.

The hospital director had died of a heart attack when the disaster began, leaving Benjamin in charge.

Benjamin was capable and had managed to keep everyone alive until now—but the situation had become desperate.

The man outside was a superpowered individual.

Before the disaster, he had been a hospital security guard, fired for harassing nurses.

After the world collapsed, he awakened an ability, gathered followers, and returned for revenge.

Everyone who had fired him, insulted him, or looked down on him before—he killed them all.

Benjamin and the others survived only because they fled to the upper floors and sealed the security door in time.

Yesterday, after killing so many people, the man had seemed ready to leave.

But he returned.

This time, he demanded a nurse and a doctor.

Not because of old grudges.

But because they were the most beautiful women left in the hospital.

He simply wanted what he had never been able to obtain before.

And now—

The door was shaking again.

Time was running out.
