Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Rebirth? Reincarnation! Blue Star? Dragon Ball World!

Chapter 1: Rebirth? Reincarnation! Blue Star? Dragon Ball World!

It had already been fifteen full years since Franklin's rebirth. He didn't know how he had died in his previous life — all he knew was that when he regained consciousness, he had become a newborn baby.

In his past life, Franklin had been all alone. With no one else around, he would pass the time by staying home and binge-watching shows by himself.

In this life, after learning about the world through the internet, Franklin discovered that he might not have been "reborn" at all — rather, he had reincarnated into a certain point in the future. This world had only three countries: Huaxia, the Allied Nations, and the United States of America.

What shocked him the most was the existence of Capsule Technology — that was supposed to be science fiction from the Dragon Ball universe.

The deeper he dug, the more he found. The World Martial Arts Tournament also existed here on this "Blue Star," and the recent champions were Jackie Chun, Tien Shinhan, and Son Goku.

By roughly estimating the timeline, Franklin's forehead was soon drenched in cold sweat. If he remembered correctly, the next invasion of Blue Star should be led by Vegeta and the Saiyans. Even if the planet wasn't going to explode…

It wouldn't be long before Blue Star had to face powerful beings capable of destroying planets. Whether this world could hold out the way it did in the anime and manga — Franklin truly didn't dare to bet on it. After all, one was fiction, and the other was reality.

Reality… The more he thought about it, the more helpless he felt. He was just an ordinary human. When gods fought, mortals suffered. Lying flat and waiting for fate to take its course seemed like the only option.

After his parents disappeared, Franklin, as the only male left in the family, once again took up the mantle. No matter what, he had to protect his family.

In his spare time, he also trained his body and asked his god-sister, Ryōko Mikado, to prepare body-enhancing potions for him.

He had thought he would just keep dying and reviving, reviving and dying, under various crises — but everything began to change quietly after that dream appeared.

The sky was burning. The sea was boiling. A colossal tree toppled with a thunderous crash onto the flaming ocean. A golden heavenly tome was held in the hands of a figure whose face and form were both obscured…

"Big bro, big bro… time to get up…"

Even with the shaking, Franklin didn't respond. His expression remained pained, and tears slipped from the corners of his eyes…

Mikan sighed helplessly. It had been a whole year now — every day, she had to wake her brother in this violent way. Would he come to hate her for it someday? Still, if he never woke up at all, that would be an even bigger problem.

She slowly climbed onto the bed and stomped lightly on Franklin's stomach. Seeing no reaction, she sighed again — then brought her foot down hard.

"Big bro, time to get up!"

Franklin jolted awake instantly. Mikan calmly stepped down from the bed, once again returning to her gentle, demure self. "Finally awake. Waking you up every day is such a pain. Breakfast is ready — hurry up and come down."

"Yeah… okay. I'll be down in a bit."

Rubbing the spot on his stomach that had taken the blow, Franklin's thoughts drifted. That strange dream had been appearing continuously for nearly a year now. He couldn't wake up until it ended — and once he did, he would forget most of what had happened.

Wiping away the tears from the corners of his eyes, Franklin was about to get up and head downstairs — when suddenly, a golden light flashed before his eyes, freezing him in place. Just as he thought he was seeing things, the golden glow completely filled his vision.

"Dimensional Heavenly Tome"

Staring at the words embossed on the cover of the golden book floating in the darkness before him, Franklin could hardly believe it. Had his dream… become reality?

Recalling how the Dimensional Heavenly Tome worked in his dreams, the golden book instantly flipped open. After a brief look through it, Franklin saw that the tome was in tatters — of forty-nine top-tier techniques and artifacts, only five remained.

Looking at the data before him, Franklin exhaled deeply. At that moment, a wave of unfamiliar memories surfaced in his mind. As he focused on them, the knowledge they contained was quickly absorbed and understood.

These new memories contained the cultivation method of the Space Overlord Art, from drawing spiritual qi into the body all the way to the Core Formation peak — as well as the usage instructions for the remaining pages of the Dimensional Heavenly Tome.

"Big bro! How many times have I called you? If you don't hurry up, you're going to be late for school!"

"Coming!"

Hearing Mikan call from downstairs, Franklin quickly jumped to his feet — but just then, more lines of text appeared before his eyes.

[10… 9… 8…]

Memories of his past life flashed through his mind — scenes of himself at home, watching anime and dramas, played back before his eyes.

Even as a child, Goku could dodge bullets — even tank them. Franklin felt a bead of sweat slide down his temple. Dodging bullets… he could probably manage that.

But tanking them? Absolutely not. Which meant that Goku's combat power was higher than his — but by how much, he couldn't even imagine.

A surge of white light enveloped him. A dizzying heaviness washed over Franklin.

Birdsong. Beastly roars. As his consciousness returned, Franklin instantly went on alert. Trees rose densely all around him. Wild grass grew unchecked. The scene was like a primordial forest, and his hair stood on end.

After confirming there was no immediate danger, Franklin took a deep breath to calm his fear and anxiety — then began thinking about how to locate Son Goku.

The original story had never mentioned where Goku had lived as a child. Deep mountain forests… How was he supposed to complete this quest?

As Franklin pondered that, a loud crash echoed nearby, followed by a scream — and then a shout.

"Goku!!!"

Hearing the elderly voice call out, Franklin's mind raced. It didn't take him long to realize that the point in the Dragon Ball timeline he had arrived in was shortly after Goku's grandfather had found the young boy.
