Chapter 117 - Chapter 118 The Gem of Reality Just a Step Away   After Hawke and Gwen left the

After Hawke and Gwen left the restaurant, they hailed a waiting taxi at the entrance.

Once inside, he patted the driver's seat, pointed to the red family car already moving ahead, and handed it over two hundred dollars.

"Driver, follow that car."

"No problem."

The driver's eyes lit up at the two Franklin bills in front of him.

He took the money, shifted gears, and accelerated in one fluid motion.

Instantly, the taxi sped off, catching up with the red family car carrying Jane Foster.

Gwen, sitting in the back seat, nudged Hawke's shoulder, then met his gaze, her voice barely audible.

"We're."

"The key to hell!"

Hawke smiled slightly.

It was the same old story.

To go to Hell and retrieve his sister's soul from Mephisto, without fighting him, expecting Mephisto to hand it over was utterly delusional.

But with his current strength, going to Hell to find Mephisto would be tantamount to suicide.

After all even Mephisto had realized that his cosmos didn't exist in this universe; it was projected onto Earth via the Phoenix constellation.

He could only unleash about 70-80% of his power.

He might be able to defeat some minor characters, but against someone like Mephisto, who could practically be called a god, it was hopeless.

Therefore!

From this perspective, Hawke wasn't wrong to say that the Reality Stone was his key to Hell.

Only by obtaining the Reality Stone and completely materializing his cosmos could he have the confidence to fight Mephisto in Hell.

Because once his cosmos was materialized, it would be at the level of a Gold Saint.

A Gold Saint fighting Mephisto that would still be a possibility.

Half an hour later.

The red family car pulled up at a container terminal.

The taxi driver also stopped.

Hawke and Gwen opened the car doors and got out.

The next second,Gwen looked at a container standing upright on the ground not far away and patted Hawke beside her.

"Hawk, look."

"Yeah."

Hawke also saw the container standing on the ground and the one lying across it, nodded, and then looked at Jane Foster, her assistant Daisy Louise, and her assistant Ian, who were getting out of the red family car not far away.

Jane and Daisy also saw Hawke.

Daisy glanced at Hawke and Gwen uncertainly, then said to Jane beside her, "Did they come with us?"

Jane didn't speak.

The two people Daisy had mentioned were already approaching.

Hawke, looking at his Thor-like girlfriend who was staring at him, smiled and extended his right hand: "Dr. Foster, hello."

Jane frowned slightly and shook hands with Hawke.

"You are."

"Hawk."

Hawke smiled slightly, then his gaze locked onto an unfinished building not far away: "My things are in there; I'm here to take them."

He then politely smiled and nodded to Jane Foster, before saying to Gwen beside him, "Let's go."

Gwen responded.

Hawke then pulled Gwen along, heading towards the unfinished building.

He no longer needed Dr. Jane Foster's guidance.

Because his trembling sixth sense was telling him that what he wanted was inside that unfinished building.

Jane Foster watched Hawke and Gwen walk towards the unfinished building, slightly taken aback, then realized what was happening and looked at Daisy beside her.

"Say it again, what's here?"

"Infinity Stones."

Following Hawke toward the unfinished building, Gwen learned from Hawke the purpose of their visit.

She was slightly taken aback: "What is this?"

Hawke explained to Gwen as they walked toward the unfinished building.

"There are two versions of the origin of the Infinity Stones."

"The first version is that the Infinity Stones were formed from the condensed remains of Nemesis after her self-destruction."

"Let's leave that version aside for now."

The second version is that, according to legend, before the Big Bang, there were six singularities.

After the Big Bang, the remnants of these six singularities condensed into six gems possessing the fundamental forces of the universe.

"The Space Stone, capable of manipulating, distorting, and even rearranging space!"

"The Mind Stone, capable of manipulating minds, enhancing mental power, and projecting energy beams!"

"The Reality Stone, capable of distorting reality and reorganizing matter."

"The Power Stone, possessing infinite power and energy."

"The Time Stone, capable of controlling all of time."

"And the Soul Stone, capable of establishing a realm of souls."

Hawke didn't hide anything, briefly explaining the Infinity Stones to Gwen, then said to her, "You've seen one of them."

Still shocked, wondering if Hawke was telling a story, Gwen instinctively looked at him upon hearing this.

"I've seen it before?"

"The Tesseract."

Hawke shrugged.

It's described in history textbooks.

Captain America stole it from Third Germany. Oh, and the wormhole over New York City last year was opened by the Tesseract.

The Tesseract is the Space Stone I just mentioned.

Gwen suddenly realized, then shook her head.

"Wait a minute, the Tesseract isn't a gem, is it? I remember."

Hawke chuckled, "The Tesseract is just the container for the Space Stone; you can think of it as a box holding the stone."

Gwen nodded, seemingly understanding.

"So what are we looking for this time..."

"The Reality Stone."

Hawke said, looking at the abandoned building before him, listening to the gasps coming from inside, and pulled Gwen inside.

He hadn't initially wanted to bring Gwen here.

But.

Gwen understood him, which made him change his mind and bring her here.

After the two entered the abandoned building, following the sound of gasps, they immediately saw a miraculous scene.

A boy standing on the stairs threw a bottle into the stairwell.

Instead of shattering on the ground as one would expect, the bottle abruptly disappeared halfway down, only to reappear in the air and continue falling.

And so it went.

At this moment, a perpetual motion machine had become a reality.

Gwen's pupils contracted.

"This."

"Hiss!"

Jane Foster, who had followed behind, also stared in shock at the scene, involuntarily gasping.

Her assistant, Daisy, smiled and said, "Now you know why I called you here."

Jane Foster snapped out of her daze, didn't speak, and took out her handheld device, walking towards the stairs.

Hawke smiled at Gwen beside him.

"Hold me tight."

"Huh?"

Hawke didn't speak, but pulled Gwen into his arms.

The next second.

Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, Hawke, carrying Gwen, had already passed Jane Foster, her assistant Daisy, and the three kids who were having a great time playing with bottles.

With all five senses activated, he followed the unknown fluctuations in the air and arrived at the fourth-floor corridor of the unfinished building.

After getting out of Hawke's arms, Gwen involuntarily covered her forehead.

"Hawk!"

"Hmm?"

"Don't do that again."

Gwen suppressed her discomfort and said seriously to Hawke, "Unless it's an emergency, you're not allowed to do this."

Hawke complied readily, "Okay, you stay here."

He looked at the positional fluctuations coming from the front of the corridor, thought for a moment, and decided not to let Gwen continue following.

Because, while the Infinity Stones' effects were infinitely powerful, the side effects of each Infinity Stone were equally immense.

No matter which Infinity Stone, they were not to be touched.

However just as Hawke was about to go forward alone, his sixth sense suddenly stirred.

He subconsciously looked at Jane Foster, who had also climbed up the stairs.

Their eyes met.

Hawke spoke first.

"Dr. Foster is going to go inside and take a look?"

  "…"

Jane looked at the direction indicated by the instrument in her hand, then at the smile on Hawke's face, and frowned: "Are you planning to block the way?"

Hawke smiled, didn't speak, but simply stepped aside, gesturing for him to proceed.

The sixth sense that had just been triggered suddenly reminded him of something.

That is in the original story, it's less that Jane Foster found the Reality Stone, and more that the Reality Stone found her.

The Reality Stone was right before her eyes, and the opportunity was fleeting.

Therefore, just in case, he planned to have Jane Foster guide him, to act as a guide, to lead him to the Reality Stone.

Jane hesitated, seeing Hawke making way for her.

After all, "unsolicited kindness is often suspicious," though this is an Eastern proverb, there are similar sayings in the West; the gist is the same.

Hawke chuckled, leaned close to Gwen's ear, and whispered, "Don't be surprised if I disappear later; I'll probably be back in about six hours."

Gwen's pupils contracted slightly as she looked at Hawke.

Hawke smiled slightly, kissed Gwen, glanced at Jane, and then walked towards the corridor.

Seeing Hawke and Gwen kiss, Jane couldn't help but think of her own god-like boyfriend, who was too busy fighting in the Battle of New York to come see her.

She gritted her teeth, glanced at Gwen with a hint of envy, and then followed.

Gwen was somewhat bewildered by Jane's look, but quickly looked at Hawke ahead, a hint of worry appearing in her eyes.

Hawke, walking in the abandoned corridor, could clearly feel the contraction of the unknown energy fluctuations around him.

But soon, this energy, which had just contracted, suddenly surged again.

Jane had caught up.

Just as Jane caught up, and seemingly to prove she wasn't afraid, walked in front of Hawke, the unknown energy around them completely erupted.

The surrounding space instantly distorted due to this violent energy.

The next second.

Boom!

A singularity appeared, and then, as if triggering a spatial collapse, in the blink of an eye, Jane, who was walking ahead, and Hawke, who had placed his right hand on Jane's shoulder at the last moment, both vanished from reality.

Gwen's eyes widened, Hawke's voice echoing in her ears.

"Don't worry, I'll be out soon!"
