Chapter 89 - Chapter 90: Phoenix as the Main Character, Heavenly Dragon as the Supporting Character

Manhattan.

East Village.

Palm Village.

A yellow Corolla slowly drove up from a distance, stopping at the orange-walled detached villa that had changed hands a month ago.

After a turn, it drove uphill towards the garage next to the villa.

As Gwen drove to the garage door, the garage door automatically opened to both sides.

Gwen drove into the garage and parked next to a black Audi A8 that gleamed under the lights.

This black Audi A8 was purchased by Hawke after he moved here.

Since Hawke bought this A8, Gwen's yellow Corolla had basically not been used on school days.

Don't ask.

The answer is that Hawke is a chauvinist and embarrassed to hitch a ride, but Gwen doesn't care.

To this day, the passenger seat of that Audi A8 has completely taken on Gwen's shape.

After getting out of the car, Gwen opened the trunk of the Corolla, took out the shopping bags she had bought at the supermarket on the way there, and headed towards the door leading from the garage to the living room.

As soon as she opened the door, Gwen heard rhythmic punches coming from the backyard.

She glanced over.

Sure enough.

Boxing again.

Gwen smiled slightly, placed the car keys and shopping bags on the bar counter, put her hands in the pockets of her wool coat, grabbed a towel from the coffee table as she passed through the living room, and headed towards the backyard.

In the backyard, the punching bag hanging under the tree swayed precariously under Hawk's relentless beating, groaning in pain.

Hawk was shirtless, his blood boiling as he threw punches, white smoke rising from his body like smoke.

Gwen walked out of the living room, watched Hawk intently boxing, and remained silent, leaning against the hallway railing, smiling as she admired the magnificent spectacle of Hawk boxing before her.

After a while Hawke threw his ten-thousandth punch of the day at the punching bag in front of him.

  *Boom!*

The punching bag suddenly stopped, then with a *plop*, it burst open at the bottom, and the stuffing inside gushed out.

Gwen, leaning against the railing watching this, raised an eyebrow.

"How many is this? The tenth?"

"Eleven."

Hawke glanced at the ruined punching bag, said, and turned to walk towards Gwen.

Gwen smiled and tossed the towel she was holding to Hawke.

"Go take a shower. I'll cook; Mom taught me a new dish yesterday."

"Okay."

Hawke caught the towel, watched Gwen turn and walk into the living room after saying that, wiping non-existent sweat from his forehead with the towel as he followed her in.

Gwen, carrying bags of groceries, headed towards the kitchen.

Hawke, meanwhile, went up the stairs to the master bedroom on the third floor.

In the bathroom, as the shower was turned on, Hawke, standing beneath the showerhead, felt his blood, still surging from exercise, rise in a cloud of steam like billowing smoke.

Within this billowing smoke, the phantoms of a blue dragon and a fire phoenix could be faintly seen.

Hawke closed his eyes, his consciousness sinking into his inner universe, then looked up at the starry sky.

Before his eyes,a second constellation had appeared in the starry sky of his inner universe, previously only adorned by the Phoenix constellation.

Phoenix, wings outstretched, facing west!

Draco, head raised, rising in the east!

In the starry sky of his inner universe, the newly illuminated Draco and Phoenix seemed to be divided like rivers, or perhaps forming horns, protecting each other.

In the starry sky,the phoenix spreads its wings.

The dragon raises its head!

Yes.

His second constellation, Draco, was lit up.

Actually, Hawke had already sketched the outline of the Dragon constellation when he was at Calvin's Cemetery.

However, he didn't truly illuminate the Dragon constellation until five days prior.

After returning from Quantico, he vaguely sensed that the time to illuminate the Dragon constellation had arrived, so he postponed his trip to Africa, intending to illuminate the Dragon constellation first.

A skilled craftsman must first sharpen his tools.

And illuminating the Dragon constellation five days ago proved his choice was correct.

The Cosmo is the foundation of a Saint's strength.

The stronger the Cosmo, the stronger the Saint.

And his Cosmo became stronger because of the illuminated Dragon constellation.

Not a superficial increase in strength, but a real increase.

The moment the Dragon constellation was illuminated, Hawke discovered that his Cosmo expanded at a visible speed.

The Cosmo, which could originally only contain the Phoenix constellation, could now easily contain both the Phoenix and the Dragon constellation.

However, his Cosmo still revered the Phoenix constellation.

After all, the Phoenix was the first constellation he illuminated.

But he also gained the core power of the Dragon constellation:the dragon's ferocity and its protective nature.

However, this wasn't the greatest gain.

The greatest gain was that after Hawke illuminated the Dragon constellation, his long-cherished sixth sense seemed to be making progress.

He seemed to have glimpsed the gateway to his sixth sense.

This was excellent.

Previously, Hawke hadn't even known where the gateway to his sixth sense was.

Now, things were different.

He knew where the gateway to his sixth sense was, making the rest much easier.

Following this path, he could touch the entrance to his sixth sense, push open that door, and thus master his sixth sense to elevate his cosmos once more.

These past few days, Hawke has been researching Wakanda online, hoping to make further progress on his sixth sense journey before heading there.

The result the sixth sense is visible, but intangible.

As for Wakanda?

Hawke can't wait for summer vacation; he plans to ask his advisor for leave in a few days and then head to Wakanda.

He's already received his September acceptance letter from NYU, so attending the last semester doesn't really matter.

The other students are in the same boat.

Aside from those who haven't received their university offers yet and are still cramming with advisors about other universities, most of those who have received offers have gradually taken leave.

Some are planning to work during their last semester to save up for university expenses.

Others are visiting their future universities at the invitation of their institutions.

Still others simply don't want to go to school and plan to stay home and rest.

Midtown High School won't make things difficult for them.

Because those who receive university invitations early have already completed all their credits, they can graduate smoothly even if they don't attend a single class in their final semester.

Of course, they just need to make sure they don't miss the graduation ceremony in June and the prom afterwards.

A little while later, after Hawke finished showering and changed into the clothes Gwen had picked out for him when they went shopping together last weekend, he came downstairs to the dining room to find that Gwen had already prepared breakfast.

Hawke's eyes lit up as he looked at the breakfast already laid out on the table.

"Wow."

"How is it?"

Gwen smiled at Hawke, wanting his opinion.

Hawke looked at Gwen with a serious expression.

"Honestly, what would I do without you?"

"Then don't lose me."

Gwen, who was organizing the family recipe cards she had taken from her mother Helen, also answered Hawke with a serious expression, then smiled broadly: "Eat up, see if it's good."

Hawke responded, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

Gwen, holding the recipe cards in her hand, sat opposite Hawke, waiting for him to finish eating while finding new cards to copy.

In the Federation, every housewife's culinary creations are passed down in the form of cards.

Gwen's cards are no exception.

However, she'll take these cards home to return to her mother, Helen, but she can make copies and keep them here to give to her daughter later.

"Oh, right,"

Hawke, eating the breakfast Gwen made, thought of Wakanda again and looked up at Gwen, who was diligently copying the food cards, and asked, "Are you going to Berkeley next week?"

Gwen, still copying the cards, nodded, "Yes, next week, for two months, back at the end of May."

Berkeley had sent her an invitation for a two-month university visit.

Hawke confirmed the dates with Gwen, nodded, and said nothing more.

Perfect.

Gwen is visiting Berkeley next week.

He's visiting Wakanda in Africa.

Yes.

Perfect.

Soon.

After finishing breakfast, Hawke and Gwen, who had finished copying the food cards, cleared the table and went outside to begin their work for the day:

Moving the lawn.

Here's a corny joke.

In the federal government, you'll get fined if you don't mow your lawn regularly.

The same goes for hanging clothes out to dry.

Some states are even stricter; you might get fined for planting vegetables.

Luckily, the previous owner had a lawnmower in the storage room.

Hawke, after pushing the lawnmower out, watched Gwen expertly inspect the machine and couldn't help but sigh again, "Seriously, what would I do without you?"

Gwen looked up at Hawke and said earnestly again, "One more time, don't lose me."

With that, Gwen pulled on the tug, and with a sputtering sound, the lawnmower instantly started working.

Although Gwen's family lived in an apartment, her grandfather was a farmer in the South, so Gwen was very familiar with all sorts of tools.

And so, under Gwen's direction, Hawke pushed the lawnmower and began mowing the lawn in front of their house.

Hearing the commotion of the lawnmowers, some neighbors turned and went back inside, while others, their eyes lighting up, brought out their own lawnmowers.

Since it was the weekend and they had nothing else to do, the sound of several lawnmowers filled the air above Palm Street in no time.

By the time Hawke finished mowing the two lawns in front of his house, it was already 11:00 AM.

Gwen, seeing her task complete, prepared to leave.

She had arranged to go shopping with Mary that afternoon.

Hawke, watching Gwen back the car out of the garage, smiled and said, "I'll pick you up tomorrow morning."

Gwen responded and drove the car out of the garage.

Hawke watched Gwen drive away from the block, and just as he turned to clear the lawnmower, suddenly his sixth sense jolted.

The next second Hawke unleashed a powerful aura, whirled around again, and fixed his gaze on the direction Gwen had gone!   ...
