When Bruce Banner returned home carrying shopping bags, Nick Fury had already left.
Betty was kneeling absentmindedly on the living room carpet.
Seeing this, Bruce quickly closed the bedroom door and went to Betty, tenderly helping her to sit on the sofa.
"Betty..."
"..."
Betty snapped out of her daze, looked at Bruce who had returned home, her eyes focused, and without any hesitation, she leaned forward and sealed Bruce's lips with a kiss.
Bruce was stunned at first, then, feeling his girlfriend's seemingly wild side, he didn't refuse, but instead chose to reciprocate.
Accompanied by a thud.
The two, locked in a passionate embrace, tumbled from the sofa onto the blanket, their clothes gradually disappearing...
"Do you love me, Bruce?"
"Of course."
"Really?"
"I swear to God."
"Then you'll avenge me, right?"
"When..."
Bruce, his eyes glazed over with infatuation as he looked at Betty, stammered unconsciously, his hazy gaze suddenly focusing.
But Betty didn't give Bruce a chance to react.
"My father is dead, avenge me, Bruce!"
"Okay, I will."
Bruce succumbed.
A look of joy spread across Betty's face.
She leaned over Bruce Banner, wrapping her arms around his neck, her lips close to his ear, her breath coming in a soft, murmured whisper.
"Darling, then become the Hulk again."
"..."
The Hulk?
Bruce Banner snapped back to reality.
The next second.
Bruce Banner stared wide-eyed at Knight Betty with disbelief.
"What…did you say?"
"Become the Hulk again."
"The Hulk is dead."
"But you're not dead."
"What?"
Bruce Banner was stunned.
Betty's face was distorted in the dim light: "The person who killed my father and the person who killed the Hulk are the same person. Don't you want revenge?"
Bruce Banner was slightly taken aback.
"He killed Ross."
The image of Hawk facing him flashed through his mind.
Betty, hearing Bruce Banner's words, took a deep breath and looked at him: "You really know who he is, Bruce. He killed my father and helped me get revenge."
Nick Fury hadn't told her the killer's name.
But before leaving, he told Betty that the person who killed her father and the person who killed the Hulk were the same person.

Betty had previously asked Bruce who helped him kill the Hulk.
Bruce didn't say.
She hadn't paid much attention then; after all, if the Hulk were gone, it would be a good thing for her at the time.
Because General Ross would no longer have a reason to stop her from being with Bruce.
But times have changed.
Now, Betty sincerely hoped that Bruce could become the Hulk again.
Only then would she have hope for revenge.
Betty looked at Bruce with incredibly expectant eyes: "Tell me, Bruce, you can still become the Hulk, right?"
Bruce met Betty's expectant gaze and remained silent.
Betty's eyes lit up.
Just as Gwen understood Hawk, Betty understood Bruce very well.
Silence wasn't an option; it meant there really was a way.
Betty was thrilled, and as she leaned forward, she hugged Bruce tightly, her voice full of pleading.
"Bruce, I don't have a father anymore, avenge me!"
"I..."
Bruce felt his girlfriend sobbing and struggling against him, clenched his teeth, shook his head, and said, "I'm sorry."
Betty, nestled in his arms, stiffened abruptly upon hearing this reply.
With a whoosh,Betty sat up abruptly, looking at Bruce in disbelief with red, tear-filled eyes.
"Bruce?"
"Betty."
Bruce quickly got up from the floor, then looked at Betty, who had slumped back onto the blanket in a daze, and said with a bitter smile, "Betty, Hulk is dead."
He had come to terms with it.
Hulk's death had its advantages and disadvantages for him, but overall, the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.
In short,he could finally live a normal life.
This was good.
Bruce wasn't a wild person to begin with; he was a scientist.
Now that he was an ordinary person, he could find a lab and continue his experiments for a high salary.
And he had already found another job.
Stark Industries has a gamma lab in Jersey City, and although Tony is preparing for treatment, they've already promised him he can use it.
So…
Theoretically speaking, if he were exposed to gamma rays again, there's a high probability he'd mutate again.
That's why he remained silent when Betty asked if he could still become the Hulk.
But he didn't want to.
He had finally returned to a normal life.
"Betty,"
Bruce said, placing his hands on his girlfriend's shoulders, looking into her red, tear-filled eyes, and said in a low voice, "Yes, I do have a way to become the Hulk again, but whether it will work, I don't know, because the Hulk is dead. The Hulk was a product of an experimental accident. Maybe it will succeed, but maybe I'll die. If you insist I try, just say the word, and I will."
Their eyes met.
Betty looked at her boyfriend Bruce, whose eyes were resolute and whose face seemed to say, 'If you tell me to go, I'll go,' and completely broke down, throwing herself into Bruce's arms and crying again.
Bruce didn't speak, just held Betty tightly.
After a while,Betty stopped crying, but her eyes were even redder and more swollen.
But her emotions seemed to have calmed down.
Betty took the tissue Bruce offered, wiping away her tears with her head down, and calmly asked, "How did my father die?"
Bruce was silent for a moment, then told Betty.
Betty didn't know.
He did.
Because he was there when Betty learned of her father, General Ross's, death, and he had gone back to Washington with her.
While busy cleaning up after the distraught Betty, he had called Nick Fury and learned the truth.
It was the same story as his.
Only, Hawke was much more ruthless; revenge was immediate, a day-long raid on New Mexico, catching up to Quantico and killing Ross, who was trying to capture him.
Bruce felt a secret thrill after hearing this.
After all he was also a participant; General Ross had chased him relentlessly, forcing him to hide in Barat, where even the air smelled of manure.
So, hearing that General Ross had been killed while hunting someone else filled him with a secret satisfaction.
After listening to Bruce's account, Betty made no rash moves, and her tone remained calm once again.
"Who is he?"
"Betty."
Bruce frowned slightly, looked at his girlfriend Betty, and shook his head.
"No weapon can do anything to him, and this was Ross's fault.Forget about it."
He wanted to say that Ross had only himself to blame.
But considering the dead, Bruce could only tell Betty not to waste time on this.
"The military has already compromised."
"I know, but the military knows who he is, and you know who he is too."
Betty's voice was calm as she looked up at Bruce.
"I just want to know who killed my father. Don't worry, Bruce, I won't do anything, and besides, there's nothing I can do."
Bruce looked at his girlfriend's sorrowful expression, thought for a moment, and sighed.
"Hawk."
"Hawk? What's his last name?"
"I only know his name is Hawk."
Bruce shook his head and said to Betty, "He killed Hulk because his sister died in the conflict between Hulk and Abomination. So before Christmas, he found me, killed Hulk, and spared my life. If General Ross hadn't tried to attack him, Ross…"
Bruce stopped abruptly.
But he felt he had made himself clear.
Even the military was trying to downplay the matter.
Was it simply because Hawk was powerful?
No.
The fundamental reason was that Hawk was in the right.
There was no other way.
When the Federation military's force was insufficient to overwhelm the enemy, the military would become exceptionally reasonable.
Betty smiled slightly as she looked at Bruce, who had abruptly stopped speaking.
"Don't worry, Bruce, I really just wanted to know his name."
"Okay."
Bruce sighed, then looked at Betty, whose expression seemed less grim after learning Hawke's name, and asked, "Are you alright?"
Betty smiled again and stood up from the blanket.
"I'm tired, Bruce."
"Okay."
Bruce also stood up. "Let's go back to our room and sleep."
Betty shook her head and said to Bruce, "I want to sleep alone tonight, please, is that okay?"
Bruce didn't mind and nodded.
"Then I'll take you back to your room."
"Okay."
Betty didn't refuse Bruce.
After taking Betty back to her room on the second floor, Bruce walked to the door, intending to say something, but seeing Betty already asleep on her side, he shook his head, turned off the bedroom light, and closed the door.
The next second.
Betty, lying on her side on the bed, heard the door close and her previously closed eyes suddenly opened.
Her pupils, which had returned to calm, were now burning with the flames of anger.
The fire burned ever brighter.
"Hawk."
"New Yorker."
"Anya."
"Just you wait."
"I will avenge you."
"Dad!"
"I will!"
"..."
