The energy beams emitted by Heat Vision and the Star Scepter bombarded Dikes' body, rapidly dissolving the black tumor-like substance on his surface.
"Ah!!!"
Dikes, struck by Heat Vision and the Star Scepter, let out a terrifying scream.
Along with his roar, black bubbles continuously bulged and burst on his face, and his entire being underwent a horrifying transformation.
If Pat was correct that killing the host was the only way to completely destroy the opponent, then Eric had no hesitation in killing the host before him.
Even though the opponent was just a history and art teacher.
"Ugh!"
A ferocious expression appeared on Dikes' face as he was attacked, his body continuously ravaged by Heat Vision, causing black tumor-like substances and blood to gush out together, creating an unbearable sight.
"Clark, I'm Dikes, don't do that, I'm your history teacher!"
Dikes, unable to bear the attack, looked at Clark with a pleading expression in his eyes.
Under the gaze of the opponent's pleading eyes, Clark's heart trembled, and the power of the Heat Vision emanating from his eyes involuntarily weakened slightly.
"Don't believe him, Clark!"
Eric's scarlet Heat Vision continued to unleash immense heat towards Dikes, and he coldly said to Clark beside him, "Continue to maintain the current Heat Vision power; don't be influenced by his words."
Hearing Eric's words, Clark's previously indecisive emotions finally calmed down. He took a deep breath and continued to increase the power of his Heat Vision, firing an energy beam of super-high temperature and destructive power at Dikes.
Blood splattered out, and a huge wound appeared on the opponent's chest, directly piercing him!
After Eric's Heat Vision shot through the opponent's body, it continued to move upwards, the powerful energy beam directly severing the opponent's neck and cutting off his head.
"Thump!"
Dikes' head, after being pierced by Eric's Heat Vision, rolled onto the ground.
Stopping the Heat Vision from his eyes, Eric walked up to Dikes, looking at Dikes' head on the ground, its eyes wide open.
"Do you think you've won? Eriel Kent, no, you haven't succeeded. You've only postponed your judgment day, and you've forgotten something very important."
Dikes' head spoke with an open mouth, saying words that made Eric frown.
"Is that so? But you're finished now."
Eric extended his foot and stomped down, crushing it with one blow.
"Yes, Eric Kent, you've forgotten something very important."
Just as Eric stomped Dikes' head, a strange voice suddenly came from behind him.
Eric and Clark turned to look and found a strange girl standing up.
The somewhat unfamiliar girl held a black diamond between her thumb and forefinger of her right hand, placing it in front of her right eye, as if observing the world through the dark diamond.
The left side of her face was a normal color, while the right side was a grayish-black and decaying, as if she wore an invisible mask.
The girl, whose eyes flickered with a black, scorching glow, stared at Clark and Eric with a serious expression.
"You've made a very important mistake: the black diamond was not destroyed; it's still in my hand. And Dikes was not the host; I am the host."
The girl's gaze fixed on Eric, "Dikes was merely controlled by me using the black crystal."
"You mean you were controlling Devourer of Heaven from behind?"
Clark glanced anxiously at the very unstable Lana and Chloe, and asked urgently.
"Yes, Devourer of Heaven is sealed within the black crystal and cannot appear at will. What you saw was merely me intentionally using Devourer of Heaven's power within the black crystal to show you."
"Who are you?"
Eric had not seen this girl in the tutoring class before, and he asked her with a frown.
The girl brought the black diamond closer to her eye, "My name is Cindy Burman. I just transferred to this school, so you certainly don't know me. But I know you. You killed Dragon King, and I am her daughter. Now, I have inherited the Injustice Society and have come to settle accounts with you, Eric Kent, and Clark Kent."
The girl named Cindy showed hatred in her eyes towards Eric, "I accidentally obtained this crystal and learned of the entity residing within it. It can grant me power, allowing me to easily control others' thoughts. Eric Kent, the fear you saw in that missing retired soldier, Clark Kent's nightmares—these were all things that Devourer of Heaven and I collaborated on to show you. You mistakenly believed that Devourer of Heaven had escaped from the black crystal and had no host, but the truth is—"
"He has always been inside the crystal, and I am the host. I am using it for revenge!"
"Dikes' mind was controlled by me. You killed him, becoming true murderers, and the kind whose reputations are ruined!"
"Many people here saw it; you can't deny it."
"Is that so?"
Eric's brows furrowed, "It seems you're the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Now that it's confirmed you're the host—"
The next second, Eric's eyes flashed with crimson light, "Then do you think I'll let you go?"
Zap!
Heat Vision quickly shot towards Cindy, but the black diamond immediately emitted a black smoky energy.
The black smoke quickly covered Cindy's front, blocking and dissolving the Heat Vision Eric fired.
Continuing to hold the black crystal with her thumb and forefinger, placing it in front of her eyes, Cindy used the power of shadows emanating from the black crystal to fight Eric.
Whoosh!
Eric passed through the black shadow, instantly moving in front of Cindy.
He threw a punch at her!
But Cindy continued to use the power of Devourer of Heaven emanating from the "black crystal" to block Eric's attack.
After his normal attack was blocked, Eric immediately used the Star Scepter to emit a beam of light power, striking towards Cindy.
Seeing Eric attack her with the Star Scepter, Cindy immediately aimed the black crystal, which held Devourer of Heaven and was grasped by her two fingers, at the beam from Eric's Star Scepter.
She attempted to use this black crystal, which had always helped her, to block the energy beam emitted by Eric's Star Scepter.
When the energy beam from the Star Scepter collided with the black crystal, an invisible wave was generated, followed by a violent explosion at their point of intersection.
Boom!
The black crystal was directly shattered into pieces by the shockwave from the Star Scepter, breaking apart and falling to the ground.
The strong air shockwave from the explosion sent everyone in the classroom flying.
The window glass shattered, making a "clatter" sound, all breaking into glass shards that fell to the ground.
Most of the students were knocked unconscious directly.
Lana and Chloe, however, were shielded by Clark, so they were not affected by the aftershocks of the explosion.
Both of them woke up from their illusion due to the huge explosion.
The first thing they saw upon waking was the shattered black crystal and the surrounding students lying unconscious.
And the moment the black crystal exploded, the entire sky also became even darker and gloomier.
The already thick, impenetrable black clouds were further enveloped by an invisible, somber, and ominous aura.
The entity that emerged from the black crystal—Devourer of Heaven—landed on the ground and reached out to touch his own body.
He felt quite satisfied to have escaped from the crystal that had confined him.
He sniffed the air vigorously, closing his eyes to enjoy the scent for a moment, then reopened them and looked at Eric and the others.
Cindy, who had recovered from the black crystal explosion, looked at the shattered black crystal fragments on the ground and then at the freed Devourer of Heaven, immediately realizing she had been tricked.
Devourer of Heaven, sealed within the crystal, had always told her that the hard black crystal could withstand the impact of the Star Scepter, but she never expected the black crystal to shatter the moment they touched!
All the help he had given her before, telling her how to fight Eric—it was all fake!
Devourer of Heaven had merely used her hatred to get close to Eric, intentionally letting Eric hit the black crystal with the Star Scepter so that he could escape from the black crystal.
How ridiculous that she thought she was the praying mantis catching the cicada, when Devourer of Heaven was the oriole hiding behind!
The feeling of deception and betrayal invaded her heart. Cindy immediately drew the short knife she had prepared and walked towards Devourer of Heaven.
"You betrayed me!"
Cindy, her heart consumed by anger and deception, raised the short knife in her hand and quickly stabbed towards Devourer of Heaven.
However, Devourer of Heaven easily grasped her wrist, and with a slight twist of his wrist, the short knife, no longer under Cindy's control, cut her arm.
"No, not betrayal. We used each other. You used me, and now I'm using you."
With that, he grabbed Cindy by the neck, lifted her into the air, and continuously increased the force in his hand, choking her until she could barely breathe.
Bang!
Devourer of Heaven did not snap Cindy's neck; he merely threw her to the ground.
Cindy, landing on her back, let out a painful groan.
Ignoring the pain in her body, Cindy immediately stood up, clutching her shoulder and staring at him, "You, you can't do this to me. I helped you a lot; you owe me!"
"No!"
Devourer of Heaven, his eyes flashing with an orange-red glow, casually picked up a shattered piece of black crystal from the ground, "I owe you nothing."
Saying that, he threw the black crystal fragment in his hand at Cindy's feet.
The black crystal immediately turned into a large puddle of substance resembling black asphalt, sticking to Cindy's feet.
"What did you do?"
Cindy, her feet stuck and unable to move, looked towards Devourer of Heaven.
But soon she knew what the existence beneath her feet was.
Two tentacles emerged from the "black sludge," wrapping around Cindy's hands, and, combined with the pulling of other parts of her body, slowly dragged her into the bottom of the black mire.
It seemed the black mud beneath her feet was gradually devouring her body.
"No! Help, help!"
Watching her body gradually being pulled into a hell-like existence, Cindy struggled violently in panic and fear, crying out for help to those around her.
But Eric merely watched coldly as she gradually fell into hell.
Although Clark, Lana, and Chloe wanted to save her, Devourer of Heaven constantly blocked their way, making it impossible to get through.
Cindy, struggling relentlessly, was finally dragged into hell amidst her violent struggles.
"No, save me! Save me!"
As the last part of her body was swallowed by the black mud, a sound as if from deep underground reached everyone's ears.
The puddle of black mud on the ground that had swallowed her eventually vanished into thin air.
Lana and Chloe watched in shock at the demon-like Devourer of Heaven.
"It seems your goal has been achieved."
Eric looked at Devourer of Heaven standing before him and said expressionlessly, "You used her, and you used me, to finally come into this world."
"Not used."
Devourer of Heaven shook his head, extended a finger, "Just a precise plan. It just so happened that you came here. My original target was Stargirl, but I didn't expect—"
