Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: One thought for heaven, one thought for hell

"Ah!"

Students inside the school bus, which had plunged into the river, screamed in terror.

Cries and screams mingled together.

The stocky Fat Man who had been mocking Clarkrolled backward as the school bus tilted.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

His body repeatedly struck the inner walls and seats of the school bus, until his back hit the iron frame of the rear window, causing him to grunt and pass out.

The other few delinquent high schoolers who had been standing suffered the same fate as the Fat Man, being knocked around inside the bus.

The remaining students who were seated managed to hold onto fixed objects during the bus's descent and did not suffer much injury.

But their good fortune was short-lived, as the surging river water rapidly poured in.

"Oh my God! Help!"

"Oh no! The water is already in, we're going to drown soon! Quick, break open the windows, hurry and escape!"

"Help! I don't want to die, and I can't swim! Someone please help me! Wuwu…"

Seeing the surging, murky river water rush in, the already terrified high school students once again fell into immense panic.

They shoved each other, scrambling to get to the school bus windows.

The girl, who had lost all her strength and was bleeding from her head after being thrown, was pushed to the ground, immersed in the murky, cold river water, trying to stand up but having no strength at all.

The school bus gradually sank, and the cold, swirling river water poured into the bus at an ever-increasing speed.

Death was drawing closer!

The girl, who had been pushed to the ground and had swallowed several mouthfuls of water, had already despairingly given up hope.

The next second, her arm was grabbed by a strong hand and pulled up forcefully.

"Are you alright?"

The girl, nearly drowned, who was saved by Clark, burst into tears.

"Thank you, thank you, Kent."

"It's okay, calm down, we'll definitely be saved."

Clark patted the girl's shoulder, then looked towards the seat where Eric had been sitting inside the school bus.

It was empty!

Eric must have escaped long ago!

According to his understanding of his brother, Ericmust have left the school bus the moment the accident occurred.

He knew his brother was different from him; Eric had awakened the power hidden within his body a long time ago.

And the speed and strength Eric displayed were far beyond his own.

Thinking of this, Clark took off his jacket and swam out against the surging river water.

Although his father told him to hide his power, this was an extraordinary moment; if he didn't use his power, then all the students inside the bus would perish.

He couldn't stand by indifferently as a bystander.

"Splash!"

Emerging from the water that almost submerged the interior of the school bus, Clark took a deep, nervous breath and dove to the bottom.

He grabbed the metal sheet at the rear of the school bus and, with a slight exertion of force, tore open the metal sheet against the pressure of the river water.

After getting out of the school bus, he looked up through the murky river water.

Through his blurred vision, he saw someone standing on the bridge, coldly watching him.

It was Eric!

That bastard!

Even as a usually good-tempered brother, anger rose in Clark's heart at this moment.

He caused trouble, yet he was indifferent to what came next.

It seemed the lives and deaths of everyone on the bus had nothing to do with him!

Although he knew Eric had an extreme personality, he didn't expect him to be so cold!

What he wanted to do most right now was go back and teach him a lesson!

Suppressing his anger, Clark grabbed the rear of the school bus and strained to drag the school bus upward.

For the Kryptonian's Son, who had just awakened his powers, lifting the school bus was not a problem.

But at this moment, the school bus was submerged at the bottom of the river, filled with several tons of water, and the resistance at the bottom of the water was much greater than in the air, making it extremely difficult for him!

"Ah!"

He roared, the muscles on his arms bulging like an explosion.

All his strength was mobilized, and his steel-like cells screamed!

The sound of muscles exploding, like "crunch, crunch," reverberated underwater.

The school bus was slowly lifted upwards.

"No! Still too slow!"

Anxious light flickered in Clark's eyes.

At this speed, the students submerged by the water definitely wouldn't last until he lifted the school bus out.

"Eric!"

Clark, burning with anxiety, shouted loudly at Eric on the bridge.

He knew his brother's strength; if his brother acted, he would easily drag the school bus out of the river.

Moreover, Eric's hearing was far superior to his own; he could definitely hear what he was saying.

"If you continue to stand by, I will tell Father and Mother!"

Clark, who had just entered high school at this time, resorted to the "tell the parents" method that had always worked well before.

But the "tell the parents" method, which had always worked well before, was now ineffective.

Eric stood on the bridge, still motionless.

Clark's strength gradually waned, and the speed at which he lifted the school bus upward also became slower and slower.

Just as he was feeling despair, the water surface exploded with a roar.

As if a launched missile had splashed onto the water!

The next second, Eric appeared before him, grabbed the school bus with one hand, and yanked it upward.

The school bus rapidly left the bottom of the water and shot straight towards the surface.

Boom!

The orange-yellow school bus broke through the water surface, making a huge explosive sound.

The surrounding splashes of water rained down from the sky.

It was as if a sudden downpour had occurred.

The students who had been struggling to drown, now survivors, gasped for fresh air.

Bathed in the dazzling, dim yellow sunlight, everyone felt a sense of unreality.

The school bus was parked in the river near the bank, and the students, who had survived the ordeal, either shivered wrapped in blankets or sobbed in their parents' arms.

Police cars and ambulances were parked on the bridge, and police officers and medical personnel bustled about anxiously.

Clark, wrapped in a blanket handed to him by a nurse, stared blankly at the pebbles beneath his feet, his head bowed.

His chest rose and fell slightly, indicating the turmoil within him.

Eric, meanwhile, stood to the side, expressionlessly watching a few female classmates not far away.

The female classmates had just been rescued by Clarkinside the bus.

But they had also seen Clark's act of lifting the school bus from behind.

Of course, due to Eric's extreme speed, the girls had not seen Eric; they only thought Clark had dragged the school bus out of the river.

That's why the girls kept staring at Clark with strange and complex gazes.

"Hey! Eric, Clark!"

A familiar voice sounded from behind Eric.

Turning around, it was Jonathan running over, out of breath.

Jonathan, still in his work clothes, hadn't changed, presumably having rushed over after hearing the news while working on the farm.

His face filled with worry, Jonathan, whose hair was slightly graying, grabbed Eric's shoulder and nervously stroked his face, "Son, are you alright?"

"I'm fine."

"That's good, Clark."

After confirming his younger son was fine, Jonathanwalked over to Clark, who was sitting on the ground, squatted down, and stroked his older son's face.

"Clark, you're not hurt, are you?"

"No, Dad."

Clark forced a smile at his father.

"Let's go back first."

Jonathan looked at the school bus near the riverbank, frowned slightly, and said, patting Eric and Clark's shoulders.

He also took off his jacket and put it over Eric.
