As they sped down the highway, the sky darkened ominously. "Oh no, is that rain?" Lucy asked, peering out the window.
"Just our luck!" Alice groaned. "We're going to get drenched!"
Within minutes, a torrential downpour began, making it nearly impossible to see the road. "I can't drive in this!" Lucy shouted, her voice barely audible over the sound of the rain.
"Just keep going! We can't give up now!" Alice urged, her determination shining through the chaos.
But as they navigated the slick roads, they hit a massive puddle, sending a wave of water crashing against the windshield. "This is like a scene from a disaster movie!" Lucy yelled, laughing despite the circumstances.
Just when they thought it couldn't get worse, a bolt of lightning struck nearby, illuminating the sky. "I think the universe is trying to tell us something!" Alice shouted, her heart racing.
"Yeah, that we're going to lose!" Lucy replied, her laughter turning into a nervous giggle.
As they finally approached the competition venue, they were soaked to the bone and frazzled beyond belief. But they were determined to make it to the finish line, no matter what.
