Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: The Boy Waiting to be Taken In

A blondie!

A blondie with designs on her personal cook!

Her rice bowl was under threat. Kiana's brain went online at an unprecedented speed and began to think of countermeasures.

Having spent several months with Raiden Mei, eating and living together, they had done everything but sleep in the same bed.

She was, of course, very aware that the difficulties Raiden Mei faced were not just bullying from school, but also all sorts of malice from society.

As the saying goes in the country across the sea.

A starved camel is still bigger than a horse, and a rotten ship still has three catties of nails.

Although the Raiden family had declined since Raiden Ryoma's imprisonment, Miss Raiden Mei still had a considerable amount of property to her name, and the large Raiden House had not been taken away.

In just two or three months, Kiana had dealt with no fewer than ten pretty boys who had dared to have ideas about Raiden Mei.

In her eyes, Brian, who was currently chatting happily with Raiden Mei, was just another one of these ill-intentioned individuals.

A mere pretty boy was courting death!

The fiery Kiana had just appeared when she was spotted by Raiden Mei.

The girl looked at the sky outside the window, a hint of apology on her delicate face.

"Kiana, I'm sorry, I seem to have forgotten about you."

Being able to communicate normally with someone else for a change, Raiden Mei had gotten excited and lost track of time.

For some reason, she felt that every word Brian said resonated with her, making her heart bloom with joy.

Compared to her ungrateful classmates and friends, this young man she had just met today was very easy to like.

Raiden Mei stood up: "It's getting so late, we should be heading back."

Happy times are always fleeting.

She still had to go shopping and prepare dinner for tonight and lunch for tomorrow.

Hearing these words, Kiana was overjoyed, her eyebrows dancing with delight.

As long as they got away from this ill-intentioned pretty boy, she could whisper in Mei's ear and convince her to stay away from this guy.

This was all for Mei's safety, after all.

Even Brian started to look a little less unpleasant in Kiana's eyes.

However...

"Mei, I just arrived in the Far East today and haven't found a place to stay yet." The young man's smile was gentle, as if possessing a strange magic that filled one's heart with warmth.

It also made Raiden Mei overlook the many unreasonable aspects of his statement.

"Could you please help me out one more time and let me stay for one night?"

"!!!" How dare you, you damn blondie, you're pushing your luck.

Kiana spoke up: "Mei, letting a boy live with us isn't a good idea, is it?"

"..." Raiden Mei didn't answer immediately.

She looked at Brian's face, her thoughts wavering between refusal and agreement, her eyes a little dazed and dim.

A handsome, homeless boy. For some reason, he made her feel an impulse to get close to him, and then...

"..."

Forget it, she wasn't at an age where she needed a boy to sing of wealth and forbearance.

If she refused, it would seem a bit unkind, and if he ended up sleeping on the streets for a long time... perhaps the next time she wanted to see him, it would be at a club in Ginza.

Raiden Mei believed that with Brian's talent, he could definitely become a top host at a club in Ginza.

"..." The girl was finding it hard to decide.

Kiana: "Mei, we're girls, how can we live under the same roof as a boy?"

Brian didn't say anything, but his eyes seemed to have a magical quality.

If she didn't take him home, the next time she wanted to see him, she'd really have to go to a club in Ginza and order a young model.

Raiden Mei sighed. She was still too kind-hearted.

"Kiana, when you see someone in trouble, shouldn't you lend a helping hand?"

"..." Kiana was speechless.

She didn't mind helping someone in need, but that didn't mean she was willing to let a blondie live in the little love nest she shared with Raiden Mei.

This wasn't being helpful, this was letting a wolf into the house!

"Mei..."

"Alright, Kiana, I'll handle it. Besides, it's just for one night."

Raiden Mei still had some sense, knowing that having a member of the opposite sex stay at her home for a long period was not a good thing.

If it led to a pregnancy, that would be a minor issue; the rampant gossip would be the real headache.

Raiden Mei turned her head: "I'm sorry, due to some objective reasons, I can only let you stay for one night."

Brian had no objection: "That's fine, I'll handle things myself tomorrow."

Speaking of which, picking up a homeless boy on the street and providing him with food and lodging.

This whole development gave Raiden Mei a strong sense of déjà vu.

Was she like one of those greasy middle-aged uncles who brings home a runaway girl, but in her case, she had brought home a boy waiting to be taken in?

Covering her face, Raiden Mei suddenly regretted her decision.

Was her brain connected to some unmentionable part of her body just now, preventing her from thinking straight?

Why did she have to be such a goody-two-shoes? Wasn't she afraid that those people at school would use this to mock her?

But the words had been spoken, and Raiden Mei wasn't thick-skinned enough to go back on her word.

"Let's go, we should head back and prepare tonight's dinner."

Raiden Mei walked in the front, with Kiana one step behind, failing to notice the blush on the girl's face, kissed by the evening glow.

The white-haired girl was like a food-guarding Samoyed, baring her teeth at Brian who was lagging behind.

Tonight, just for one night!

If this guy was still here tomorrow night, she would use her Kaslana family's ancestral treasure to pry open his skull.

The three of them, each with their own thoughts, didn't talk much on the way.

Raiden Mei carried the newly bought groceries and entered the kitchen with an unreadable expression.

In the living room, Kiana glared fiercely at Brian.

"You! Don't you get any funny ideas!"

From the very beginning, she had felt that something was off.

Raiden Mei was being unusually friendly to a stranger and had even brought him home for the night.

She couldn't find a reason or any evidence.

But her intuition told her that this guy must have done something to make Mei act so abnormally.

She admitted her brain wasn't the sharpest, but she had always believed her intuition was very accurate.

This guy... was trouble!

In her wary blue eyes, the boy who was the object of her suspicion was leisurely making himself a cup of tea, as if he were in his own home.

Then he unhurriedly met Kiana's gaze: "Don't worry, I won't ruin your relationship."
