Chapter 23 - Symbolic War

I was prepared. I'd already conquered the most powerful of this world. They'd fought a war they had never even noticed, and they lost without noticing. I had control over the net. My Star Wars droid based AI was all powerful and at my command. Every thing on the net was under control, along with many things 'off' the net. All I needed to do now was destroy the corporation's physically and show the world that it's freedom was theirs to take.

Total anarchy was off the table, I hadn't annihilated the corporations yet because of that. I wanted to help this world and if I had to rule it to do so, I would. I had already taken control of the major corps via my AI, and the physical destruction would be a symbol to the world. At a single order I took over Night city. Some fought back but a flood of gang and corpo soldiers under my command drowned them.

Anyone still loyal to anything outside of my control was immediately ostracized and eliminated. This world had no mercy. I had traded my mercy for ruthlessness long before I died in the civil war of my first world. The capitalistic society had gone to far. I needed to reset the playing board. The major corporations outside of Night city saw what I had done in a single day and finally felt fear as their systems crumbled every time they attempted to stop me. Their empires burned with them at the top of the pyre.

Night city along with Dogtown fell completely under my control, becoming the heart of my revolution. My anti-corp and revolution propaganda from early on shot to the sky as multiple governments began forming. The entirety of the Americas formed a single government based on an armed and polite society. The countries of Europe went down screaming and drowning in their own blood as the people drew on their ancestors and executed thousands. Russia folded the fastest as without their technology, their choices were limited to kneel or die from the cold. Mongolia, China, India, and other eastern countries had obscene populations numbers and folded quickly under threat by their own people who finally had a good reason to form true governments.

Japan was devastated by Arasakas death knells. Large parts of the corp had escaped my silent take over and on backup orders released every dangerous thing they had. In one night Japan once again suffered the pain of atomic flame. The sun rose and fell over Japan multiple times and left it and its nearest neighbors reeling. 30 nuclear weapons had been used but none had escaped the island. I'd already had hundreds of droid piloted starcraft in the air. Nukes couldn't outrun Star Wars atmospheric fighters.

Australia had organized a new government the quickest and sent massive support to Japan. Africa had seen a single man run multiple coups and take over the strongest countries, then organize a government. Last was Greenland. They had become a super fortress of guns and isolation. The corporations there had collapsed when I attacked and the people had partially organized an informal government. Out of all the lands they were definitely the weirdest. They were happy with it though and the government was okay, so I wasn't going to stop them.

After the governments were mostly established it had been only a month. My revolution propaganda had obviously helped revolutionist groups gain enough power to take advantage of my symbolic victory. Before all the countries and governments were put together I dragged all the leaders into a room and forced them to make a united government. All I really required was all governments to participate in the enactment of laws this new ruling body made, and that they would uphold basic human rights.

With that done I made some hidden facilities with AI to annihilate any government that betrayed the rules. Humans learned from mistakes, if I made something that would punish them for those mistakes then the lesson would stick. If some government said no to the rules and started hurting their people then droid armies would annihilate them an help establish new authority.

In my take over hundreds of small wars had sprung up. I'd easily mobilized nearly a million troops or every type and sent them around the world with droids as support. They'd put down anyone not following the new rules and help governments take control. With a new era for this world set up I could focus on my own problems. I technically have control over night city as the heart of my work here but it was also part of the New America Government. NAG as they were now called wasn't much of a problem, however a new world law had come into effect and many didn't like it. As such Dogtown and other gang territories started freaking out and revolting. Most were put down but despite almost wiping out the voodoo boys they still hid with barghest remnants in the slum. Kurt Hansen and Placide had formed some kind of organization/gang and had planted their roots deep into Pacifica.

They two crazy fucks had figured out how to take the terrifying robot thing from the dlc and make more. I knew where they were but their robots were fast and deadly. My people were not going in there so I organized a quarantine and multiple raid parties. The parties would draw away the bots as I and my team were injected into the enemy base. Maine and crew, Gloria, Sasha, and some sleepers, were all part of my crew. We would be dropping in silently to eliminate the idiots then deactivate the robots.

The cleanup would be handled by my droids as they could easily do the dirty work. An hour into the operation my people engaged the bots and started getting fucked up. I sped up our drop and we practically fell on the dumbasses we were here for. Hansen immediately ran for it as Placide attempted something. He got diced by Sasha then had his chrome replaced with massive amounts of lead. We fought our way downwards into a bunker and started splitting up.

It was then that I found Hansen with only Sasha by my side. Hansen, in the typical bad guy fashion, monologued about how he'd done all this and how screwed I was. He then revealed Songbird hooked up to a machine and multiple bots dropped from the ceiling. Before I could even aim at anything with my new and untested Desert Eagle, Solomon Reed appeared from the shadows like he was Batman and then riddled Hansen with holes. Without orders from Hansen the bots were so much scrap. I helped Reed free Songbird from the machine and set him up with a small corporation to help the girl recover. She for some reason wasn't the Songbird in the game but I didn't really care. With the bullshit here dealt with I began solving other problems.

This world was beginning to piss me off with the amount of problems it had. I'd even had to eliminate lots of stuck up idiots who thought Night city would be their refuge. They got the same treatment the Europeans gave their tyrants, but instead of makeshift guillotines all they got was my Desert Eagle tested on them.

I'd been in this shit hole for nearly 8 months and it came as a bit of a relief when my little magical girl 'informed' me that we'd be leaving soon and would be taking Yako with us. I found out who Yako was soon after when Rena came in riding on Sasha Yakovleva's back. I'd been hoping to leave Sasha here to watch over things as I had trusted her with an AI just slightly weaker than mine. However with Rena deciding to bring Sasha I was forced to transfer overwatch to Gloria.

I found her watching David's sandevistan training with Jackie and V. We had quickly made multiple powerful and actually safe sandies with the two testing, and David had convinced Gloria to allow him to get the first Savitar sandevistan. It was like the prototypes but way safer and more effective.

As I approached Gloria glanced at me then turned back to the three fooling around. I joined her and watched then till she spoke. "Whats up boss? You're looking a bit nervous."

Nervous was a good description for what I was feeling right now. The Latina was pretty intimidating within my little organization and was we'll know for her motherly disappointed look. "I'm leaving soon. The original plan was to leave things to Sasha, but Rena decided we'd be taking her with us. Without her here I need you to take over. Vik won't take the position. I have an AI ready to implant into you for control over the systems."

She glanced over at me with a raised eyebrow then looked back at the three training. "Why are you leaving? Why would you choose me?"

Good questions, questions I couldn't really answer. "I'm leaving because I have to. I don't have a choice in the matter. I'm leaving you in control because I only trust you and Vik with the control. If Vincent down there was a bit more experienced and weathered I would've made him the successor but he still needs refining."

I left her with my answer and a control device that would allow her to get the AI implant then left to my room. I found Rena and Sasha ambushing me with Rena in her puffy suit and Sasha in a new armor for herself. They stuffed me into my suit and strapped themselves onto me. Just before we fell I grabbed my main AIs Core Storage Unit and slotted it onto my back. I didn't want to lose 113 petabytes of compressed space expanded data storage and the stuff on it, and my main AI itself.

The fall was rough to say the least. I could tell I'd become younger, around 16. Rena had grown to about 11 and Sasha was 14 or 15. I barely had time to right our fall before my tech started freaking out and Sasha went limp in a coma.
