Chapter 3 - My Deskmate, Hyuga Hinata

Kitazawa woke up early because the first class was his, the Will of Fire.

This, in turn, demonstrated how much Sarutobi Hiruzen valued him.

That old man was a scoundrel, a peeping Tom.

Kitazawa was certain Sarutobi Hiruzen would use his crystal ball to observe his class.

Of course, it wasn't because of him, but because of Uzumaki Naruto and the others.

Kitazawa arrived at the first-grade class, Class A, and found only five students.

He glanced around, his gaze settling on the little girl sitting in the middle row.

She was dressed in a tightly wrapped long shirt and trousers, with short, dark blue hair.

But what caught his eye most were her pure white eyes.

These were the Byakugan, a bloodline limit.

The Byakugan, unique to the Hyuga clan, possessed the power of clairvoyance and insight.

[Current Mission: Help your deskmate Hinata Hyuga recover her scarf.]

[Mission Reward: Konoha Whirlwind.]

[Accept?]

Kitazawa's mouth twitched as he watched the three lines of text suddenly appear before him.

How could he become Hinata Hyuga's deskmate?

Kitazawa pondered for a few seconds before coming up with an idea to trick the system.

He slowly walked over and sat down beside her.

"...?"

Hinata Hyuga wondered.

But her shy nature kept her from asking.

She lowered her head, nervously poking two fingers together.

"I'm Kitazawa, the teacher of First Grade Class A." Kitazawa tilted his head to look at her. His skin was as white as a delicate doll.

"Teacher... Hello!" Hinata Hyuga greeted hurriedly.

The Hyuga clan was considered an aristocracy among ninjas, deeply committed to rules and etiquette.

"Don't be so polite," Kitazawa smiled gently and asked, "Can I be your deskmate?"

He didn't directly discuss the scarf, as that would be premature.

"Yes," Hinata Hyuga replied instinctively, but then tilted her head to look at him, a look of confusion on her face.

"I haven't finished preparing for the lesson yet, and there's no seat at the podium, so I can only temporarily be your deskmate," Kitazawa said, opening the materials in his hand and making up a lie.

It was a lie.

But Hinata Hyuga believed him without giving it much thought.

Just then, Kitazawa saw three more lines of text.

[Current Mission: Be the first student in the class to catch the attention of Principal Sarutobi Hiruzen.]

[Mission Reward: Wind Style: Major Breakthrough.]

[Accept?]

Such a good thing?

This system wasn't as foolish as he'd imagined.

Kitazawa immediately accepted; it was a convenient task after all.

He had originally intended to impress Sarutobi Hiruzen in the first class.

It was called social etiquette, and loyalty was the key.

Hinata Hyuga stared blankly at the teacher.

"What are you looking at?"

Kitazawa thought, turning around and noticing Hinata lost in thought, her bright eyes looking a little dazed.

"No...nothing."

Hinata met his gaze, her face flushing.

"By the way, you haven't told me your name yet, Hyuga-san."

Kitazawa asked with a smile.

"Huh?"

Hyuga Hinata quickly stood up and said very embarrassedly, "Excuse me... Excuse me, my name is Hyuga Hinata!"

"Look at you, so polite again."

Kitazawa reached out his hand, touched her head, and said, "We are classmates now, not teacher and student."

"Sorry... Sorry."

Hyuga Hinata froze and lowered her head again.

"Sit down and talk," Kitazawa said, withdrawing his hand.

Hinata Hyuga sat down obediently, legs together, hands resting on her lap.

Suddenly, a thought struck her, and she looked up.

"Um... how did you know my last name was Hyuga?"

Hinata Hyuga asked curiously.

"Of course, it's your Byakugan,"

Kitazawa said, studying her eyes.

"Don't... don't look at it,"

Hinata Hyuga said, turning her head. "It's not pretty."

"I think it's pretty."

Kitazawa asked, a thought coming to his mind. "Why do you think it's not pretty?"

"I..."

Hinata Hyuga hesitated, a look of hesitation on her face.

"We're friends now,"

Kitazawa said, a smile on his face.

"They said so,"

Hinata Hyuga's cute little face paled slightly as she spoke. "They said Byakugan is ugly."

Kitazawa thought to himself, as expected.

This was exactly what the three naughty kids said when they bullied Hinata Hyuga in the original story.

And they had also stolen the scarf mentioned in the mission.

"Did something like this happen? Then I have to control them."

Kitazawa's expression grew serious.

"Huh?"

Hinata Hyuga was completely taken aback by his words and froze.

"Do you remember them?"

Kitazawa said in a gentle tone. "Don't worry, I'm their teacher. I won't do anything to them."

"I do,"

Hinata nodded, then said awkwardly, "but I don't know their names."

"It's okay,"

Kitazawa said nonchalantly. "Just tell me their main characteristics."

"They're three boys, about my age...that's about it,"

Hinata said as she recalled.

"That's enough. I've narrowed down a few candidates. I'll confirm them after class,"

Kitazawa said with a smile.

Every class has its share of mischievous kids.

Plus, Hinata had already mentioned the characteristics, so finding them wasn't difficult.

"Really...really impressive!"

Hinata blurted out.

In her mind, Kitazawa had become a very reliable adult.

"It's a piece of cake,"

Kitazawa said with a wave of his hand. "I'll let you know when I have the results."

"Thank you, Mr. Kitazawa," Hinata said gratefully.

Kitazawa was about to speak when he heard a conversation coming from the door.

"Sakura, do you think our teacher is a handsome guy?"

"It doesn't matter whether the teacher is handsome or not, the important thing is that there are many handsome classmates!"

Two little girls walked into the classroom.

One had pink hair, tied with a ribbon, revealing a fair forehead.

The other had a golden ponytail, with bangs falling down, covering her right eye.

Kitazawa took a look and recognized them. They were Haruno Sakura and Yamanaka Ino.

The former was one of the heroines of the original work, and saved the ninja world together with the two male protagonists Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke.

Of course, she is not the MVP, at most she is a dog who won without effort.

The latter is the pig among the new generation of 'Pig, Deer and Butterfly' in Konoha, mainly responsible for control and perception.

She and Haruno Sakura both like Uchiha Sasuke, but because they don't have the halo of the heroine, they eventually become blonde losers.

"So handsome!"

Yamanaka Ino noticed Kitazawa and widened her eyes.

"Is this our teacher?"

Haruno Sakura asked with a start.
