"Do you know what the reason is?"
Jeremy nodded, but before he could get a word out, Everly barreled ahead—completely derailing his attempt at a dramatic reveal.
"I'm actually kinda suspicious about his whole reasoning, because one minute he's threatening to lock me up, the next he's proposing marriage... And considering the whole nonuplets disaster with your family thinking I'm pregnant... plus he keeps making weird baby comments..."
She tapped her finger against her thigh in a rhythm that suggested her brain was finally connecting some very obvious dots.
"He... thinks I'm pregnant too, doesn't he?"
"Finally! You figured it out! I was starting to wonder if you'd ever realize he thinks you're carrying his babies..."
Even though she'd guessed it herself, Everly's eyes still went comically wide when Jeremy confirmed her suspicions.
