Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: The Poor Female Knight

Chapter 23: The Poor Female Knight

Fortunately, in two lifetimes…

Luckily, he had once been human.

Now Altair had an idea about which crops the goblins should plant.

When he was on the outskirts of Qirwood Forest, Altair selected more than twenty kinds of edible wild vegetables and fruits, seven of which were suitable for cultivation.

These crops were: potatoes, sweet potatoes, sugarcane, mung beans, peanuts, salt flowers, and red cherry fruits.

The vegetables and fruits of this world were not the same as those in Altair's previous life, but there were some similarities, so Altair named them this way for convenience.

After the goblins described their impressions of these vegetables and fruits, Altair quickly understood the soil and conditions suitable for cultivating them.

However, his expression remained serious, and the situation was not optimistic.

The choice of crops and species had never been a problem for Altair. What he truly needed to worry about was how to prevent the planting area from being destroyed and discovered by human adventurers.

Entering the central zone of Qirwood Forest meant stepping into the inner ring, and most of the creatures that lived in the central ring zone were overlord-tier beings. Their territories were vast, and even combined, the outer and middle areas were not as large as the central ring. Yet, they often came out to destroy the ecology of other races—just for fun.

This was already evident from the traces left by overlords when they first arrived here. It was also where the overlords would appear again.

If they planted crops well, but in the end, those crops were easily destroyed by an overlord, then all would be in vain.

If they wanted to advance stably and for the long term, they needed to build a defensive line strong enough to withstand the assaults of overlords.

Altair and Anrus conspired and discussed for a long time, staying up all night until dawn, formulating many plans and goals.

The next morning.

Anrus began arranging training for the goblins and went off to find suitable planting sites.

Altair came to Cassvia's cell to visit her and ask for some information about Qirwood Forest and the adventurers from the outside world.

"Would you tell me about the types, strengths, and distribution of the overlords in Qirwood Forest, and compare them to the combat capabilities of humans?"

Although goblins lived in the Misty Forest, they had always stayed in their own areas and knew very little about it. Their knowledge was far less than that of a female knight who lived in human lands but often heard news about the forest.

Lady Cassvia's face flushed slightly, but she spoke with a cold glint in her eyes, "Alright, but you must carry me on your back and take me outside for a walk."

The female knight made a strange request.

"Come."

Since Cassvia was pregnant, it was already his responsibility to take care of her. Altair turned around.

When Altair turned his back, Cassvia's face blushed even redder. She got up from the bed, approached Altair, jumped onto his back, and hugged his neck tightly from behind.

"Hmph, damn goblin, I'll strangle you to death!"

Cassvia spoke viciously, but buried her burning face in Altair's shoulder, inhaling his scent that made her heart flutter, calming her body and mind.

Most people would suffocate if held that tightly, but Altair had now reached a state of perfection, so such strength was no problem at all.

At that moment, Altair's tall body, with its unusually gentle features and heroic bearing, stood out. Though he appeared slender, once his clothes were removed, his beautiful frame was revealed, making him look like a male deity.

Two days ago, when he made Cassvia pregnant, she had truly experienced the endurance and strength of this body—and had become obsessed with it.

This was his value after Altair had fully matured.

Carrying the pregnant Lady Cassvia on his back, Altair walked out of the goblin cave and into the lush green forest.

Cassvia closed her legs together and felt the forest breeze, her body and mind deeply satisfied.

This was the life she had always dreamed of.

Cassvia whispered, "Qirwood Forest lies to the south of the Nas Kingdom. It is the most dangerous place, bordering the Nas Kingdom. The size of this dangerous land is even greater than that of the kingdom itself. The entire forest borders several kingdoms at once."

Altair: "That big?"

Cassvia nodded. "Yes."

From Cassvia's further explanation, Altair learned about the distribution of the misty forest and compared humans with goblins.

Humans had many professions. Among professions of the same level, special professions such as knight, mage, and berserker were stronger than ordinary professions like guard.

Adventurers came from all professions, with varying strengths, but overall, human power was classified by adventurer rank.

Adventurer Ranks: Apprentice, Black Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum.

Silver rank and above were divided into seven star levels.

Humans classified beasts and magical beasts into tiers: low, intermediate, high, overlord, and king.

Each advanced level and above was also divided into seven star levels.

Black Iron adventurers equated to low-tier guards and low-tier beasts. Bronze equated to mid-tier. Silver equated to advanced-tier. Gold equated to overlord-tier. Platinum equated to king-tier.

Qirwood Forest was famous across kingdoms as a gathering place for beasts. It was divided into: outer line, outer rim, central area, central ring, and the central earth lake.

The outer line was just a small forest, a buffer zone between the misty forest and human lands, home to a few low-tier beasts.

The outer rim was mostly inhabited by low-tier beasts, but their leaders were often mid-tier beasts, and some individuals were extremely dangerous. This was where Altair had been born.

The central area was home to high-tier beasts, most of them accompanied by their tribes, doubling the danger level.

The central ring was almost exclusively occupied by overlord-tier beings or groups of high-tier beasts. They were the true rulers of this strange forest and the beings feared by all adventurers.

When an overlord left Qirwood Forest, even kingdoms and the Adventurer Guild would be alarmed.

The central earth lake had long been occupied by overlords.

According to Cassvia, in the eyes of humans, goblin tribes, White Goblins, and Violet Goblins were generally classified as mid-tier magical beasts, with average power.

Only Violet Goblins with higher levels of magic could contend with mid-tier human knights.

Crimson Goblins, once fully grown, seemed capable of reaching the strength of Silver-level adventurers or high-ranking knights.

Without doubt, the Goblin Cave led by Anrus had survived here by relying on numbers to contend with high-tier beasts of the central area.

But once they encountered an overlord from the inner zone, they were no match.

Altair suspected that once his offspring, the small Crimson Goblin, grew up, he would likely be stronger than most high-tier beasts here. Conservatively estimated, his power should equal a level three high-tier beast.

Altair thought for a moment and asked, "What about Dark Goblins?"

Cassvia was puzzled. "Cruel Dark Goblins, what are those?"

Clearly, Cassvia knew nothing about this advanced goblin evolution.

Altair touched Cassvia's slightly bulging belly and whispered in her ear, "That's our child."

Cassvia's beautiful face turned red, but she quickly tried to hide her emotions by saying, "Giving birth to goblins for you is disgusting! You'd better keep a close eye on me, or I'll definitely escape!"

Her hope value had clearly reached 48, yet she could still say such things—refreshing Altair completely. Truly, it was not convincing at all.

The beautiful knight uttered a classic tsundere speech to a goblin, as if saying: I'll give birth to your child, but if you don't visit me often, I'll run away from home in anger.

The poor female knight, once captured, now had her heart turned toward goblins. It seemed she could no longer leave the Goblin Cave to see her family and friends.
