The Divine Blood came off him in four directions simultaneously and not as a disc, or even a blade, but something between both, four dark arcing shapes that moved outward from his center like spokes.
The guards closest to the door were down before they registered the door had opened. The ones further in had enough time to turn, two of them to reached for weapons, and only one was actually able to draw.
The drawn weapon was irrelevant. Divine Blood moved faster than a hand that had not yet committed to a direction.
Within the first few second, that was when Ishiki had the advantage of a shock and surprise. He was able to successfully take down the two closest guards. The other three had turned alert and already moving with awareness.
Ishiki recalled the Divine Blood, feeling it reseal against his skin in sections, and turned to find Sael three steps behind him rather than at the far wall.
