"No need."
Tokita Ohma flatly rejected the one eyed yokai's offer.
The Dark Tournament's rules were simple: the loser must withdraw, but the winner could continue fighting.
If you had the strength, you could single-handedly defeat an entire opposing team.
However, most fighters didn't do this.
Partly to give teammates a chance, and partly because even a single match could be draining, making rest necessary to recover.
But in the previous bout, Ohma had won so effortlessly that he'd barely expended any energy.
Continuing to the next fight was no issue.
The one eyed yokai said, "If that's your choice, don't blame me for being ruthless."
You had your chance and refused—now face the consequences.
With heavy steps, the one eyed yokai's massive frame advanced toward Ohma like a tank.
Ohma immediately recognized this was a power-based yokai. Going head-to-head would be the worst strategy; he needed to rely on agility and tactics.
His foot tapped the ground, and he vanished from sight.
In the next instant, he reappeared on the one eyed yokai's left, leaping into the air and aiming a fierce kick at its head.
The move looked familiar.
Morpheus narrowed his eyes, thinking. It wasn't quite like the Soru from the Rokushiki in One Piece, but rather... Shunpo.
Yet Ohma wasn't a Shinigami, so he couldn't use Shunpo.
It must be... Shundou.
Though Shundou and Shunpo differed by only one character, they were distinct techniques.
Shunpo, from Bleach, used spiritual particles to move at imperceptible speeds, reaching an opponent's side or beyond.
Shundou, from Negima!, was a martial technique. By gripping the ground with toes and thrusting with explosive force, it mimicked instantaneous movement.
An advanced version, Void Shundou, allowed movement in midair by stepping on the air—a highly advanced skill.
It was closer to Soru or Geppo from the Rokushiki.
Considering this world even included Mahora Academy, it wasn't impossible for Ohma to have learned Shundou.
But Morpheus recalled something.
Using Shundou required mastering the flow of ki.
Without ki, it was nearly impossible to execute.
Yet Ohma had done it.
He must have mastered ki.
This was new, absent from Kengan Ashura's original plot.
That series leaned toward realistic combat, exaggerated but devoid of supernatural forces like ki.
This was a patchwork world, though.
With Ohma's talent, mastering ki wasn't surprising.
No wonder he joined the Dark Tournament. With ki, he qualified as a supernatural being, making his participation logical.
Facing Ohma's ferocious attack, the one eyed yokai raised its right arm in an instant, blocking the kick.
A muffled boom resounded.
An invisible shockwave rippled outward.
Ohma felt as if his kick had struck titanium. Had he not shielded his leg with ki, it would have shattered.
The attack failed, but Ohma didn't launch a second assault.
Instead, he retreated at lightning speed, putting distance between himself and the one eyed yokai.
The one eyed yokai's counterattack was coming.
Its arm, wreathed in yokai energy, swung like a siege hammer toward Ohma.
But Ohma's retreat was too swift. The ferocious strike missed, smashing the ground.
Boom!
A deafening roar echoed as the arena floor trembled slightly.
Where the one eyed yokai struck, a crater over five meters wide appeared.
As expected, a power-based fighter.
Ohma narrowed his eyes, his mind racing to devise a strategy for victory.
In terms of raw strength, he was far outmatched. Clashing directly was out of the question.
So, he used Shundou again, circling the one eyed yokai rapidly.
With agile movements, he left afterimages, confusing the one eyed yokai while seeking an opening.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Suddenly, four identical Ohmas charged the one eyed yokai.
Three were clearly afterimages; only one was real.
The move resembled the Afterimage Technique from Dragon Ball.
Perfect for bewildering simple-minded yokai.
The one eyed yokai was momentarily confused, unable to discern the real Ohma.
No matter. If it couldn't tell, it wouldn't bother.
It picked two at random.
Its arms, fueled by yokai energy, bulged with muscle, swelling several times larger, and swung at two of the Ohmas.
Two muffled pops sounded as the afterimages shattered.
The one eyed yokai had chosen wrong.
The real Ohma had closed in from behind, leaping to deliver a brutal kick to the one eyed yokai's nape.
For yokai, especially this one, the back of the neck was a weak point.
At that critical moment, something unexpected happened.
A bulge of muscle erupted on the one eyed yokai's back, bursting into a third arm.
Like a massive siege hammer, it slammed into Ohma.
The sudden move stunned not only Ohma but everyone watching.
No one had expected the one eyed yokai to conceal a third arm.
Cunning.
This yokai wasn't like the mindless ones.
The surprise attack caught everyone off guard, including Ohma.
Taken by surprise, Ohma was hit, flying backward like a cannonball.
He crashed to the ground with a thud.
Though he'd enveloped himself in ki at the last moment to withstand the blow without being obliterated, he was in bad shape.
The one eyed yokai's strength was overwhelming. Half his bones felt shattered.
He couldn't stand to continue the fight.
