Chapter 48 - [DEM] 48: Unfathomable

Hearing Paracelsus's question, Morpheus clicked his tongue and ruffled his hair. "In my view, Rizevim's strength is negligible. Beating him shouldn't be an issue. The problem is he's hiding in the shadows, not revealing his location."

"That's the tricky part."

"There's no such thing as being on guard against a thief every day for a thousand days."

"I can't spend all 365 days a year hunting for Rizevim's whereabouts."

That was what gave Morpheus a headache.

Sirzechs and Serafall exchanged a glance.

Even they didn't dare underestimate Rizevim's power, and whether they could defeat him was uncertain.

After all, he was the son of His Majesty Lucifer.

Yet, to Morpheus, this infamous devil seemed like a pushover.

Was he brimming with confidence or just arrogantly overestimating himself?

Sirzechs spoke up. "Leave Rizevim's whereabouts to us."

Serafall nodded. "We came to the human world on His Majesty Lucifer's orders to find Rizevim and drag him back to the Hell."

"Compared to humans, we devils know devils better."

Sirzechs added, "If the devil behind the Umbrella Corporation is indeed Rizevim, we'll find him."

A faint smile curled Morpheus's lips. That was exactly what he wanted to hear.

Humans tracking a devil? Devils were far better suited for the job.

This was why Morpheus sought out Rias and Sona in the first place.

His goal was to reach the devil higher-ups through them and pressure those higher-ups to hunt down the mastermind behind the Umbrella Corporation.

His plan had succeeded. Now it was time to step back and watch the devils fight among themselves.

"Excellent. Thank you for your help, Mr. Sirzechs, Miss Serafall."

Morpheus stood, shaking hands with each of them. "If you need anything, feel free to contact me. I'll cooperate fully."

"Also, if you find Rizevim, could you let me know?"

"I'm quite curious about this devil plotting to destroy humanity."

Sirzechs replied calmly, "Of course."

After thanking the two devils again, Morpheus left with Medea and Paracelsus.

His goal was achieved—there was no reason to linger.

Once Morpheus and his group departed, the smiles on Sirzechs and Serafall's faces faded.

Serafall said abruptly, "That man is formidable. I couldn't gauge his strength."

Sirzechs nodded. "Truly unfathomable."

When they shook hands with Morpheus, they'd subtly probed his power.

They found nothing.

To them, Morpheus was an enigma.

Rias and Sona, standing nearby, were stunned.

Rias couldn't help but ask, "Nii-sama, Lady Serafall, is that human really that powerful?"

Sirzechs said, "When I saw him, it was like seeing His Majesty Lucifer. When did humanity produce such a monstrous powerhouse?"

"This must be reported to His Majesty Lucifer."

Serafall nodded. "I agree, but…"

Sona asked curiously, "But what, nee-sama?"

Serafall continued, "Is someone that powerful really human?"

Meanwhile, after leaving Kuoh Academy, Medea, trailing behind Morpheus, asked, "Boss, when you shook hands with them, you were testing their strength, right?"

Morpheus didn't hide it. "I was."

Medea pressed, "So, did you figure out how strong they are?"

"They're strong."

Morpheus's eyes glinted. "If we use numbers, Serafall's combat power is around a few hundred thousand, and Sirzechs's is about a million."

For context, Rihan's combat power was only ten thousand.

Even when boosted by his allies' power and using Matoi to unleash his full potential, it reached only a hundred thousand.

Serafall could crush him effortlessly.

And Sirzechs was even stronger, living up to their status as Satans in the original story.

They were indeed formidable.

Medea, hearing this metric for the first time, asked, "What about me? In your eyes, Boss, what's my combat power?"

Morpheus thought for a moment. "When you first manifested, probably ten or twenty thousand. After contracting with me, maybe fifty or sixty thousand."

Medea pointed at Paracelsus. "And him?"

Morpheus said, "Paracelsus, after my enhancement, is around a hundred thousand."

"And you, Boss?"

Morpheus didn't answer, raising one finger.

"A million too?" Medea asked.

Morpheus rolled his eyes. "A hundred million, okay? A hundred million. You think so little of me with just a million?"

Medea chuckled. "I'm not underestimating you, Boss."

Though she didn't doubt him, a hundred million was beyond her imagination.

If Sirzechs, as Morpheus said, had Satan-level power, he'd be on par with her teacher, Hecate, the goddess of magic.

That would put Hecate's combat power at around a million, maybe two at most.

And Morpheus was at a hundred million.

That meant he could effortlessly crush her teacher.

Could he even crush Zeus?

If a god-king of a pantheon was no match for her Boss, wasn't that a bit too outrageous?

Medea's mind reeled with disbelief.

Was her Boss's power level breaking the rules?

Was this guy really human?

Could he secretly be the Great Red, the True Red Dragon God Emperor, the only being all pantheons deemed unbeatable?

But no matter how she looked at him, Morpheus didn't seem like a dragon.

Medea was baffled. Where did this absurdly powerful being come from? She'd never heard of him.

Paracelsus shared her thoughts.

As for Morpheus, he had no intention of explaining.

What could he say? That he wasn't from this world, a transmigrator with a cheat?

Even if he told them, would they believe him?

More importantly, he had no plans to reveal his golden finger to anyone.
