The speeches came near the end of the evening. There were many award presentations, toasts to innovation and creativity. And then, unexpectedly, the host called Asher and me to the stage.
"We wanted to take a moment to celebrate a couple who exemplifies partnership." The host said. "Asher Wang, whose business empire continues to reshape industries, and Rysa Lin Wang, whose brand Siren Gems has become synonymous with ethical luxury and innovative design. Would you both say a few words about what it means to build success together?"
This wasn't part of the plan. I felt Asher's hand on my back as we walked to the stage together.
The host handed me the microphone first. I smiled.
"Thank you so much for this recognition." I began. "Building Siren Gems has been the greatest challenge and the greatest joy of my life, and having a partner who understands the demands of building something from the ground up... that's invaluable."
