I didn't sleep that night. I sat on my bed, staring at Asher's note.
I will never let you go. Not in ten months. Not in ten years. Not ever.
By the time morning came, I had made a decision. I wasn't going to hide anymore. I wasn't going to let him scare me with cryptic notes outside my door.
I found him in his study at 7 in the morning, already dressed in a suit, staring at his laptop screen. I slammed the note down on his desk.
"What the hell is this?"
He looked up at me, and for a moment, I saw something raw in his expression. Then it changed.
"The truth." He replied.
"This is a threat." My voice was filled with fury. "You're threatening me."
"I'm not threatening you." Asher stood up, coming around the desk. "I'm just telling you how I feel. I'm being honest for once instead of pretending that I'm going to just let you walk away when the contract ends."
