chapter 0: prologue
In the far away coastal town of Tamarindo, there were two british tourists the first one was a fat british bloke named Gary, the other was a decently built british bloke named Adam. gary spoke to adam with the most british accent out there "ay adam i know a guy here who works for a boating company here in this town, maybe we could go exploring the costa rican reefs" adam nodded and decided to stay silent for now, as they approached Gary's friend, a man with a tan brown tone in his skin, who for some reason dressed like a biker with sunglasses and all. "Hey if it isn't my main man Gary" said Gary's friend happily, Gary smirked as he also greeted his friend and they boarded Gary's friend's boat which was a cabin cruiser as they began sailing the seas. As they sailed and were wowed by the coral reefs. Suddenly a storm set in; Gary's friend tried to hold on but couldn't and ended up falling into the sea Adam yelled "gary" as his vision went black.
chapter 1: the isle of pain
Adam saw nothing but darkness as he felt himself crawling down an endless corridor. He felt something and he awoke on a beach as a crab that was trying to eat him scuttled away. Adam stood up and stretched. He looked around and believed he'd arrived at costa rica when he drifted until he looked to the right and saw a rock with a wrecked cabin cruiser and the skeletons of plenty of people there. That's when Adam realised: this wasn't costa rica, this was some kinda island. Adam uttered to himself "god this can't be happening I'm gonna die alone on this island" Adam tried to calm down and recollect himself as he proceeded into the dense jungle. He could barely see six feet in front of him as he trekked through the mud. He suddenly stepped in something brown. "Erg, I stepped in shite!" he proclaimed angrily. Adam shook his boot clean. He continued his trek to a clearing where he encountered a rotting corpse of a triceratops being eaten by compys, who scattered upon seeing Adam. "Good god what the hell, is that a triceratops? It smells awful." Adam said, disgusted. Adam proceeded past the triceratops corpse as he ended up encountering an abandoned petrol station. Adam shrugged as he entered the station, it was as expected: mostly abandoned. Adam then found the breaker in the backroom and reenabled the power turning on everything there, Adam exited into the central part of the station where the tv hanging on the ceiling turned on and began advertising "hey kids are you ready for a bite of pre history? Of course you are! Now introducing dino bites, made freshly from natural ingredients- also keep an eye out some of our bites contain a secret toy! Enjoy and have a dinorific day!" the tv shut off as Adam shook his head and said "that was horribly cringe" Adam collected up a few bottles of water and some canned food and tinned food as he left for the jungle once more.
chapter 2: tribal terror
Adam continued into the woods when he encountered a clearing when he saw an average sized village of tribal people who seemed grossly obsessed with dinosaurs, they noticed Adam and began trying to murder him with spears. Adam, being a smart fella, ran away until he accidentally stood on a lighter causing it to explode and set the tree behind him on fire as one tribesman yelled "daemon ignis" as they rushed away and Adam decided to leave. As Adam began wandering the forest he ended up tripping over and falling into a hole, however when Adam got up he saw it was a huge footprint of some kinda tyrannosaur except probably three times larger than what a normal Rex could make as Adam whispered "what the hell could've made this footprint" Adam decided he didn't want to find out so he walked out of the footprint and proceeded back into the woods.
chapter 3: the alpha labs
Adam roamed the forest staring at the ground coming to terms that he was all alone until he ended up knocking his head on a door, when he looked up he saw a massive hydraulic door with a name painted on it that said "laboratory alpha" Adam then found a dead security guard and he stole his keycard and proceeded into the dark depths of the lab. "holy shite mate its fuggin dark down here" Adam reached forward and managed to turn on the lights and he saw something horrifying, hundreds of human corpses littered the floors "now I feel bad for whoever has to clean up the floors" said Adam with a worried expression as he made his way deeper into the lab. soon he'd end up at a large lab labelled "project-QTR V2 research lab" as Adam entered he saw what he'd never seen before there was what appeared to be a velociraptor using a computer it seemed to have a more upwards posture and had much longer arms and rather thin legs, Adam snuck up on the creature and it noticed him before speaking in almost perfect english "what are you doing here human" Adam stuttered a bit before asking "well first of what the hell are you" the creature sighed before responding "i'm project-X first anthropomorphic dinosaur and if you're wondering no my creator wasn't a furry, but if you want just call me X" adam nodded "okay X but what are you doing here this place seems very abandoned" X simply said "because i was born and created here, the researchers wanted to see how a real humanoid dinosaur would fair, turns out better than they expected" Adam nodded as he peered into the window ahead "whats this big window for" X nodded and said "for observing QTR V2" Adam looked confused so asked "what is QTR and whys it called V2" X sighed and prepared for a mini rant about project QTR "sixteen years ago this lab created two beasts named project quelled triassic red-" X was cut off by Adam rudely interrupting "thats a ridiculous name its like naming my son after a car brand-" X interrupted adam's comment "let me finish now quelled triassic red had two versions the V1 which stood at a whopping 20 metres tall and the V2 which was slightly smaller yet mainly because it was a female-" Adam again rudely interrupted "was it female so they could reproduce or was it for the staffs personal-" X then yelled at Adam "BE QUIET" X calmed down before proceeding "right back on track, the V2 acted very strangely towards human staff like she'd wink at them and even go as far as blowing a kiss, but she only did it to staff anything else she'd brutally tear it limb from limb" adam nodded and seemed a bit afraid "what did it do with the staff' X's expression darkened "i'm not even gonna tread into that territory" Adam and X went silent as Adam just stepped away. X shrugged and decided to follow.
chapter 4: close encounters
X decided to speak to Adam as they explored the laboratory more "hey whatever your name was we shouldn't go this way" Adam seemed annoyed "oh yeah why shouldn't i X also my names Adam" X seemed to not be impressed with Adam's response "that's where V2 is" Adam stopped just outside a completely wrecked hydraulic door and inside they saw the eyes of a 16 foot tall beast as it stepped out revealing itself to be the project QTR V2. It had the body head tail and legs of a Tyrannosaurus rex, two sets of orangutan arms covered in scales rather than fur, jaws belonging to a mosasaurus, as Sharp spikes ran down its tail. as it winked at X, X simply sighed as Adam suddenly did a very strange move and swept X off his feet and ran away with him in his arms, X didn't seem to enjoy this and said "Adam what the fuck are you doing put me down right now!" Adam simply didn't listen as they escaped the lab.
when Adam and X had gotten out X finally yelled at Adam "why the fuck did you sweep me off my legs i'm a hybrid not a princess" adam dropped X and X said "ooff, next time let me use my own legs mister 'i'm tryna be the hero'," Adam didn't get the decided to make X come with him through the v wandered the dense forest X complained about something "erg this damn mud's getting all over my jumpsuit" Adam glanced behind him and saw X's white jumpsuit was covered in "this isnt funny" X shouted annoyed.
chapter 5: coastal chaos
as Adam and X roamed they came to the coastal laboratory named laboratory beta as adam said "i'm starting to see a trend with these labs" X nodded "yeah all the labs were named after different types of radiation with alpha being the largest, beta being in between and gamma being the smallest yet gamma runs under the entire island" adam nodded as they entered laboratory beta via its large hydraulic doors.
Inside the laboratory were a lot of bodies. As expected, Adam found an armed guard's corpse and took their AR-15 from them as they went into the lab with X right behind him. deeper into the lab X opened a file he found and seemed a bit afraid "shit this is where the other experiments went" adam seemed confused "what do you mean the other experiments?" X's expression darkened as he replied "the other humanoid dinosaur experiments the failed ones were left here" Adam seemed unnerved as he suddenly heard what sounded like a person yelling "helloooo" Adam then said "wait that must be another survivor it has to be" adam rushed towards the noise with X right behind him trying to convince him to turn around. When Adam stopped he saw a person but when he used a torch he'd found to light them up his eyes widened the person wasn't a human they had a small stegosaurus tail plates along their back and they were a woman in armour "help get the flesh arggg" the woman yelled as she seemed to become more feral. Adam and X looked at each other "told ya so" X said to Adam sarcastically, Adam shook his head and tried communicating to the woman "hey lady you okay don't panic me and X aren't gonna harm-" Adam was cut off when the woman charged at him and tried to bite him, thankfully X used his legs to kick the woman off Adam and as Adam stood up and shined his light into the darkness there was more former humans now part dinosaur "these were the failures they were all disposed of here" X said nervously "what were they" asked adam as he backed away from them "humans using genetic engineering to make them like me except only i was successful the rest were dumped in laboratory beta" X said as Adam began using his AR-15 to shoot down their hordes unfortunately he ran stead out of bullets and hadn't even killed one "uhh nice dinos" said Adam like a dog trainer.
the dinohumans rushed Adam and X as they began running for their lives, adam spoke as they ran "hey this reminds me kinda of a show i watche-" he was cut off by X yelling "shut up Adam we're running for our lives here not commenting on some shitty anime you watched!" Adam felt embarrassed as they both escaped laboratory beta and began roaming the shores once more.
chapter 6: a chance at escape
as they wandered the shores adam soon spotted a radio tower in the distance in the higher peaks of the lands "look X a radio tower we could call for help and hopefully get off this rock" said Adam, X was impressed with Adams idea as it was the only smart thing he'd said for a while "alright Adam lets go call for a helicopter and get off this rock" Adam and X went to the radio tower. upon arriving the radio tower seemed quite ruined yet still functional as Adam sent out a radio frequency "hello to all nearby helicopters we need rescue from an island known as isla pena in the muertes archipelago please send help, now" randomly a hurricane set in on the island as Adam and X were forced to take cover in an abandoned science shelter, Adam decided to converse with X about the island "so X why did they name this place isla pena" X responded with "it means pain island in spanish and they are correct living here is more hard than down in the labs" adam nodded. After an hour they heard helicopter blades outside and upon exiting they saw it a helicopter here to save them, the helicopter pilot yelled down to them "you and your odd friend get to the landing site at the tip of the island!" Adam nodded as he and X proceeded to the landing site where they saw the helicopter hovering near the ground and Adam yelled "hooray we're saved" suddenly the helicopter was smashed clean to the ground and into a pile of rubble.
As the rubble cleared before them stood project-omega 16, it had the oversized body of a purple Tyrannosaurus rex dragging its upper torso along the ground, its head was massive and was lined with thick girthy teeth, its tail was long and thick designed to balance its weight and failing miserably. X and Adam immediately backed off, omega 16 roared at them as they ran away omega 16 in hot pursuit. Adam spoke up first "what the hell is that thing" X replied quickly "project omega 16 our most aggressive and stupid hybrid" omega 16 didn't like them calling it stupid so it raised its body up to pursue them faster. Adam was screaming like a child while X seemed strangely calm. After about a half hour of running they barely managed to lose omega 16 as it began searching for Adam and X. Thankfully its low intelligence made it unable to detect Adam and X, as omega 16 left Adam breathed a sigh of relief "thank god that damn thing is gone" X nodded as they got out of their hiding spot, "great there goes our escape from this island" said X annoyed.
chapter 7: another way out
Adam and X continued their aimless wander around isla pena, the almost constant hurricanes and tornados making it more rough to endure, soon they'd find a third hydraulic door inside isla pena's only mountain and it was labelled "laboratory gamma" Adam seemed interested while X said "ahh laboratory gamma this was the facility even I was never allowed into because it would ruin my sensitive mind like those bastards haven't done enough to me already" Adam didn't seem to care as him and X proceeded into the laboratory. Inside they saw what they expected human corpses dead security guards and then Adam stepped on something, upon looking down he saw a broken test tube leaking an unknown green substance, "ewww what the hell, is this dinosaur mucus" X stepped forth and examined the puddle "that's a mystery liquid, no clue what it is though" silence filled the room, Adam and X proceeded forth into the laboratory encountering everything especially human corpses and then X remembered something "hey Adam i just remembered about how calling for another helicopter may be a bad idea" Adam seemed interested "oh yeah what is this thing that'll prevent helicopters from landing here" X's expression went a bit annoyed "the EXP-089 sentry birds are guarding the island" adam was confused and thought that name was a bit silly "what're the sentry birds they sound ridiculous" X's eyes narrowed "they aren't ridiculous they're a dangerous threat that flies around destroying any foreign helicopters that come to the island" Adam was shocked and asked "so how do you suppose we take down these sentry birds" X's eyes narrowed "we take out their homing beacon" Adams eyes blinked "whats the homing beacon" X shook his head "its a central beacon that connects the 12 sentry birds as to relay information they're like a hivemind" Adam nodded, as he uncovered a abandonded map of the island "okay, so this homing beacon is grectly inside a former quarry now home to a armata of tribal blokes who are very strange" X nodded as he grabbed a soldiers corpse and dragged it behind a curtain and X came out no longer wearing his jumpsuit but was wearing the gear of the soldier as he checked himself out "hmm i don't look too bad in army gear" Adam shook his head, as they prepared for an attack on the homing beacon.
chapter 8: sentries down!
Adam and X left laboratory gamma and made their way to the old quarry, where they saw the tribe again as Adam and X loaded up their guns as they began fighting the tribe, they easily slaughtered the tribal people and a few at a weird shrine round the homing beacon began praying "Deus nobis avium ignis terras nostras ab his bestiis protegat" suddenly from the sky came the sentry birds, they were giant pterodactyls with armoured backs intelligent eyes and sharp beaks.
Adam yelled "there they are lets light up em up" Adam and X began shooting the sentry birds but they realised they were too fast to hit and too armoured to harm so X jumped over to the homing beacon and shut it off disorientating the sentry birds, allowing Adam and X to begin shooting down the sentry birds until they were all dead, adam breathed a sigh of relief "glad thats over."
Adam and X left the site pleased with having taken out the sentry birds "alrighty X thats the sentry birds dealt with what next" X replied with "well we're gonna need to take down EXP-350 aka goldfish" Adam seemed confused "goldfish?, great now i'm dealing with some giant pet goldfish" X shook his head "not exactly goldfish is an abomination that makes resident evil fish bosses look like minor threats" Adam was a bit shocked so he asked "so how on earth are we supposed to defeat this thing harpoon it to death" said adam with intended sarcasm, X shook his head as he said "we're gonna use a harpoon yes but a modified one armed with a lethal venom belonging to the eastern brown snake which will take it out allowing us to be safer in the sea" Adam nodded impressed as they prepared the supplies, thankfully adam had found a boat nearby it wasn't enough to get to the mainland but good enough to sail round.
as adam and X began sailing they found goldfish, which was a giant sea creature with a large mouth sharp teeth brownish skin and powerful fins, as it attacked a harmless fishery boat and killed the crew, "man and i thought goldfish were cuties" adam said sarcastically, X didn't like Adams idiotic sarcasm as X perfectly timed and stabbed the venomous harpoon right into goldfish's eye killing it.
chapter 9: a (no so) relaxing night
Adam and X decided to relax by a lake in the woods as the night settles in X along with Adam noticed the trees were glowing and asked "huh why are the trees glowing like we're on pandora" X responded simply "these trees are genetic experiments using bioluminescence on trees and animals in what we've called the bio site" then they looked at the water and they saw velociraptors with fins webbing and gills, adam asked "the hell are those" X responded with "those are the aquatic velociraptors they're very pretty when they aren't trying to kill you" the aquatic velociraptors soon began glowing a beautiful blue cyan and some green colours, adam was simply stunned "wow beautiful" the aquatic velociraptors then proceeded to start doing some advanced dance techniques to impress the nearby female aquatic velociraptors, Adam and X cringed at the sight but they kinda enjoyed the sight of dance between the raptors and Adam asked X "hey X why don't you have a bioluminescent colour like those raptors" X shook his head and said "because that would be idiotic considering i'm a regular velociraptor and not one of their biological experiments" Adam nodded clearly understanding. as the night drove on, the aquatic velociraptors dived into the water, Adam was confused "what why are they swimming away" X stared at Adam "Adam i think that was another of the experiments" Adam decided to question "who" X simply asked first "you remember project QTR V2" adam nodded "yeah so" X's expression darkened "that is the original model 20 metres tall 100 metres long basically a real life kaiju" Adam seemed very worried "please don't tell me the V1 is freaky like the V2" X shook his head "no its not and good thing too its three times larger than a tyrannosaurus rex jaws large enough to crush army grade frigate in two" Adam seemed terrified by the idea of such a creature then he remembered something "wait i remember seeing a huge footprint a while ago that must've belonged to the original project QTR" X was about to say something when he heard it, footsteps that shook the earth they stood upon.
Adam and X turned around and saw the eye of project-QTR V1 staring at them its eye was as large as Adam's entire body in diameter, Adam uttered the words "oh god its huge", QTR roared at them as the smaller trees collapsed to the ground, Adam screamed while X was as silent as a rock. Then Adam and X proceeded to run for their lives as QTR followed behind, crashing through trees, stepping on dinosaurs turning them into fleshy pulps on the ground, Adam being the idiot he was said "i'm starting to really hate this island X" X replied sarcastically "really i couldn't tell" then they came into what appeared to be a giant site that was disguised as a small island village and then before them stood project atomised V21, a large tyrannosaurid creature with small mandibles around its jaws, clawed arms with smaller pincers and it was outrageous looking. X seemed actually afraid for once "shit its our two largest creations here face to face" atomised and QTR roared at each other as they charged and clashed, QTR got ahold of atomised's neck as it tried choking him out, but atomised retaliated with a powerful bite straight to the neck, QTR roared in pain as it slammed it's spiky tail tip into atomised's leg breaking one of its bones as atomised proceeded to bite harder causing blood to leak all across the ground.
The battle raged on blood covered the grass, small shards of bone were stuck in cars as atomised ended up having its head ripped clean off by QTR, throwing it to the ground as QTR roared victoriously over its only rival.
chapter 10: 7 days to die
adam and X had escaped long from the battle site and were back at the radio tower as they got a message from a helicopter pilot named carlos "hey this is carlos i'm coming to isla pena but i need to get rights before landing there it'll take seven days for the costa rican government to approve it i'll see you later" adam slammed the radio tower table "fuck" X went over to adam and tried calming him down "listen adam we've survived here for days me its been months i'm sure waiting a few days here on isla pena won't be too hard" adam smiled happily it was the first nice thing that had came from X "thank you X" Adam then thought up something "hey X i feel calling you X all the time gets a bit dry you feel me" X thwacked Adam round the head "no adam thats my name and it'll stay that way" adam rubbed the back of his head where X had hit, when they saw that it was getting dark again as they saw the full moon rise into the sky adam began to make a joke "he what if we-" adam was cut off by X smacking him again "shush adam" adam seemed annoyed but remained silent for now as they sat on the grass staring at the moon.
as they watched the moon Adam and X laid on the grass and fell asleep. the next morning adam woke up, washing under a nearby waterfall "fuckin ants they crawled all over my while i slept next time never sleeping on the grass" adam said angrily, X on the other hand chuckled at adam "hehe idiot" as the sun rose over the lands adam got ready while X washed, still wearing that same security gear he'd taken from laboratory gamma, X then commented on his minor reflection in a waterfall "hmmm this gear is starting to feel a bit tight" and X then used his claw to slice a hole in the gear for his tail "much better" adam then went along the shorelines. After a while X heard Adam scream and saw him running from a bunch of angry crabs "hahaha idiot" X mocked again as Adam yelled "X do something" X shook his head as he watched Adam get chased around all morning and into the afternoon.
Adam eventually came to a stop when the crabs gave up chasing him, adam uttered "fuckin crabs" X then seemed to want to mock him more but decided against it, as the afternoon proceeded X and adam began setting up a fire as adam left to collect some food from that petrol station in the woods.
chapter 11: alone again
Adam was all alone again no raptor companion just him in the woods it was actually kinda relaxing not having X yelling down his ears, Adam soon came to the petrol station from two days ago but upon going inside he found a megaraptor sleeping in a pile of random fabrics, adam froze upon seeing the megaraptor when it suddenly woke up and stared him down, adam was very scared "uhh nice big raptor" said adam nervously, when suddenly the megaraptor rubbed its head against his leg. Adam was absolutely confused "what why's it not attacking" adam then noticed for some reason this megaraptor had a collar round its neck that said "pursuer" Adam shrugged as he collected up some food when the tv screen hanging on the ceiling suddenly came on and began playing a corrupted video file of a mysterious man chatting with scientists "okay so how has project-X V9021 been going" the other scientist in the video said "very well in fact since the bosses dna was compatible with raptor genomes" the first scientist said "what you mean the boss is the only one out of over 9000 specimens to be properly compatible" the second scientist in the video was surprised "yeah the boss has the most compatible genetics so we best tell him that this experiment is technically his son" the first scientist in the video was annoyed "what barry you'll know what'll happen when the boss man finds out he has a son who's not only a reptile furry but that it's permanent" as the scientists in the video bickered back and forth about project-X adam recognised the first scientist by his voice and build "wait a second he sounds and looks almost exactly like gary" then the video zoomed into the second scientist and there it was a younger less fat version of gary in a lab coat, looking like he's trying to hide the fact he shat himself. adam seemed a bit sad at being reminded of how gary used to be before everything, before the island, before the zesty dinosaurs, before the hybrids and mutants before he ever reached costa rica, the good times with gary when they went to the beach, the time they got dive bombed by seagulls and the time they went to a peer and it rained heavily yet even through all that they were great friends.
chapter 12: knocking on heavens door
adam continued daydreaming till he noticed that he'd been imagining for so long it was dark outside, "christ it's already dark out" adam said amazed, when suddenly the ground began to shake as adam peered outside when he was nearly crushed by the foot of project QTR who ripped the ceiling of the petrol station off as QTR stared into adam's soul. "Christ on a stick" Adam said horrified as he noticed pursuer was standing up to QTR as pursuer jumped onto QTR and began biting at its heavily armoured back as QTR got distracted by pursuer allowing Adam to escape to safety.
as Adam eventually made it to a clearing now safe for now from QTR, Adam sighed as he left for the location of the radio tower, where X was.
as the night seemed to eternally last, Adam stared at the beautiful blue stars that filled the sky, Adam seemed to think this island what he's seen should he find a way to escape without X, but he'd been with X for several days should he really consider abandoning his only friend on the island aside from that megaraptor pursuer he just met, as he thought to himself he tripped and fell over a dip in the sand.
chapter 13: a look to the left
Meanwhile back at the radio tower X sat alone as it had been over 8 hours since Adam had left "where is that idiot now" X questioned, annoyed, X then decided to remain at the tower for an additional day.
randomly during another adamless night, which X enjoyed quite a bit, the radio activated it was carlos "hey carlos here the costa rican government were extremely generous and gave me access to isla pena but i'm gonna need some backup that abomination there is 20 metres tall maybe more so its gotta die okay carlos over and out" the radio cut off, X seemed frustrated but he remained calm awaiting Carlos and his backup helicopters to arrive to the island.
meanwhile adam was aimlessly wandering the islands lower sectors until he encountered the central island lab of laboratory alpha, but its main hydraulic door was completely shattered "oh god shes free" adam said terrified, upon looking around he saw project QTR V2 as she winked at Adam causing him run for his life, QTR V2 continued to chase adam but it did it purposely slow to scare him, yet as adam got to the beach where he was cornered project-QTR V2 was suddenly mowed down by hordes of minigun bullets.....
chapter 14: duel of titans
Upon looking to the sky he saw Carlos in a UH-1 Huey. carlos then yelled down to adam "glad to see ya in one piece meet ya at the helipad near the radio tower" as Carlos flew away in his helicopter Adam quickly began running towards the landing site where he met up with his old pal X, "adam where the fuck were you its been nearby two days" X said annoyed "i got jumped by both abominations projects QTR V1 and two" adam replied to X, X responded impressed "damn and here i thought you were too incompetent to escape even a few tribal people" as carlos brought his helicopter in for a landing suddenly he flew back up and said over the radio "christ all mighty what the fuck is that" upon looking behind them adam and X saw project QTR standing there.
project QTR roared shaking the ground and them as carlos flew his helicopter out of there, Adam this time tried standing his ground "hey big asshole dinosaur you don't scare me" adam said confidently as X facepalmed, QTR then tried eating adam good thing X dived and shoved them both to the ground and as QTR was about to strike they heard a roar....
upon looking they saw project omega 16 roaring at QTR as they entered a duel, the two abominations clashes shaking the ground QTR went to choke omega 16 out yet omega 16 retaliated with a crunch before using its powerful jaws to rip off QTR's arm, QTR roared in pain blood covered the terrain and QTR then proceeded to get a good grip on omega 16's head as the two fought for a while until QTR snapped omega 16's neck killing it as QTR stood victoriously over the dead abomination.
as QTR turned to Adam and X sensing their fear, until suddenly project QTR was struck by missiles and upon looking to the shoreline there it was carlos in his helicopters and two AH-64 apache helicopters opening fire on project QTR, QTR let out one final roar as it collapsed to the ground permanently dead "and stay down" said adam acting like he was some kinda hero in a stupid anime.
