Seraphine's POV
My heart hammered against my ribs as I stared up at Alpha Theodore. The towel felt impossibly thin under his burning gaze.
"For a week?" I managed to whisper.
"You heard me." His voice was cold steel. "Elder Gina wants to meet with you tomorrow morning."
I clutched the towel tighter around my chest. "Why are you telling me this yourself?"
Something dangerous flashed in his dark eyes. "Would you prefer I sent Kayne? Maybe you'd like him to see you like this too?"
The jealousy in his tone caught me off guard. Heat flooded my cheeks.
"I didn't mean—"
"Get dressed." He turned abruptly. "Don't keep the Elder waiting tomorrow."
His footsteps echoed down the hallway, leaving me stunned in the doorway. The way he'd looked at me. Like he wanted to devour me and throttle me at the same time.
I locked the door with shaking hands.
The next morning brought an unexpected surprise. Several maids arrived with armfuls of fabric and silver trays.
