HARPER
All through yesterday and up until now, I hadn't said a single word to Dominic. And he hadn't said one to me either.
I was still mad at him for toying with my feelings like it was a game. What irritated me most was that he hadn't even cared enough to apologize. Not a word. Not a glance of remorse.
The nerve of him to think that ridiculous prank counted as our first fight as a married couple!
I grumbled under my breath, pushing the knife through the carrot with more force than necessary. I was in the middle of preparing breakfast. I woke up starving, and since no housekeeper had shown up, and ordering food after yesterday's grocery haul felt wasteful, I'd decided to cook.
A knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts. I set the knife down, rinsed my hands, and wiped them on the apron cinched around my waist before heading over. I unlocked the door and peeked outside.
