He leads me to the top floor and then down to the end of the hall into his room.
"Sorry it's a mess.I didn't think anyone sober would walk in here today."
I laugh without realizing making him look back and smile.
"Wow Carlos.I don't think I've ever seen you smile."
"There's never really ever a reason for me to smile."
"So how come you smiled now?"
"You're gorgeous.When you laugh you're even more beautiful."
He's so good looking it's ridiculous.Why would he compliment me?
"Sorry is this Carlos?Thee Carlos?You've been nothing but a jerk ever since we've met.Why?"
He laughs nervously then responds, "I'm a jerk when I'm with my friends because that's just how it is.Everyone thinks we're jerks automatically just by looking at our football jerseys.Might as well play the part right?"

"I've always looked out for you.Danniel and I are also family.So you've also kind of been like a distant sister."

I then sit on his couch and he joins.
"Yeah.Our moms are cousins.We met as kids you remember?Just wasn't introduced to you as his relative..."
"Woah!My 5th birthday party!You were Aladdin!"
I can't help but laugh.
"Yeah." He joins.
"Why weren't you ever at his house or with him at school?"
"Danniel?Oh well,sh*t happened between him and Xavier so to avoid beef I hangout with them separately,or with Danniel at places I know Xavier won't be."

"I don't know." He says dismissively.
"Sorry...I..."
He can probably tell I feel bad because he immediately cups my chin and tells me it's okay.
He then changes the subject and walks over to his closet to grab me a t-shirt and sweatpants.
"I hope these will be okay." He hands them to me and smiles.
"Thank you."I smile back.
Turns out some of the drink got onto my pants so I need an entire outfit change.
"There's extra towels and brand new soap jell bottles in the cabinets in the bathroom.You can grab a pair of shower slippers as well.You can keep them if you want or throw them away when you're done."

"Thank you so much Carlos I appreciate it."
"Don't mention it."He smiles.

"Don't worry mami.Remember to lock the door as soon as I walk out okay?If you want to take a bubble bath,feel free.Take your time."

Before walking out he stops in his tracks and asks, "Cali...what does Calithea mean?"

He says then walks out.
He leaves me smiling alone.
I then lock the door and get the bubble bath started.
When I check my phone for the time, I see 5 missed calls from Danniel.
