"W...w....what?" he stammered, completely thrown off guard.
Gabe looked up, his lashes still wet, his expression heartbreakingly vulnerable. "Just for a while," he whispered. "Until I can stand on my own again."
Alex's eyes widened in shock, so wide it was almost comical, except that there was nothing funny about what he'd just heard. For a second, he thought maybe he was hearing things.
"Stay at my place?" he repeated, blinking as though to confirm if he'd heard correctly. His brows furrowed, disbelief flickering across his face. "Is that… what you just said, Gabe?"
