Chapter 4 - 4

With five gunshots, Zoe killed the remaining five people cleanly and efficiently.

Then, he calmly left among the trembling figures of more than ten bodyguards. Only after entering the elevator did Zoe breathe a sigh of relief, lifting the [God's alibi].

It wasn't until Zoe returned home that the system notification sounded.

"Congratulations, Master. You have completed the mission and have won a C-level lottery. Would you like to participate in the lottery?"

"Let's not smoke for now. We'll talk about it tomorrow."

"Yes, Master."

Zoe let out a long sigh and sat on the bed, staring blankly at her hands. They were clean and the nails were neatly trimmed, but half an hour ago, these hands had taken the lives of six beasts. Zoe's emotions were very complicated now and she was in no mood to draw the lottery. Now she just wanted to be alone.

Fear? No

Are you excited? No

Are you satisfied? Not really.

Zoe silently closed his eyes and analyzed his current emotions. In the end, he found that he seemed to have no emotions. This was also where his complicated mood came from. He seemed to be born indifferent to the existence of life. Even if he was a little happy now, it was because the number of resurrections of the passive skill [Dead River] increased from 0 to 6.

It was 10 o'clock the next morning when Zoe walked out of the room, her eyes bloodshot and she was yawning.

Zoe fell asleep very late last night because he was lost in philosophical questions. Fortunately, he finally figured it out and didn't get stuck in a rut.

"So what if I'm born a murderer? Damn it, I love whoever I want."

This was Zoe's answer.

Zoe had originally planned to sleep until she woke up naturally, but now she was woken up by the doorbell.

"Who is it?"

Zoe asked angrily, standing at the door.

Zoe asked angrily, standing at the door.

"Police, here to investigate something. Mr. Zoe, please open the door and cooperate with the investigation."

When Zoe heard that it was the police outside the door, her originally confused consciousness instantly cleared up. Then she smiled slightly and wondered why they were so slow to come. The efficiency of the American police was indeed touching, and the taxpayers' money was wasted.

Although Zoe was complaining madly in her heart, she still opened the door as soon as possible. The moment the door opened, Zoe returned to her initial confused state.

Later, the police came to Zoe's house and asked her questions such as where she was last night and what she did. They also told her the news that the six people had died. Zoe cooperated very well and pretended to be shocked. Then the two policemen checked the house and left after finding no evidence.

Zoe watched them leave and sneered at them the moment she turned around. She had first used [Thousand Faces] to change her appearance yesterday, and then climbed out the window in the backyard where the surveillance camera had no view. Before leaving, she also activated [God's Alibi], so there was no eyewitness at all, and she had a perfect alibi.

As for the numbers on the bullets, Zoe had already ground them off. He also had the pistol thrown into the river yesterday. He was fully equipped with rubber gloves and a hat. There was no possibility of fingerprints or hair being left at the scene. It could be said that there were no clues left. Zoe proudly stated that all the detective novels he had read in his previous life were not in vain.

If the police can still find out the truth, then there will be no need for superheroes to save the world. Just calling 300 police officers will probably be enough to defeat Thanos.

Just when Zoe was about to go back to sleep, the doorbell rang again...

Zoe was a little confused. Who would come to see her now?

Despite her doubts, Zoe still got up and opened the door.

In front of the door was a very elegant young man sitting in a wheelchair, and next to him was a man wearing big-framed glasses who looked a little dull.

"Hello, is this the Abs family?" The young man in the wheelchair asked politely first.

"Yes, you are?" Looking at these two people who seemed inexplicably familiar, Zoe suddenly felt something was wrong.

"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Charles Francis Xavier. The person next to me is Hank. We are here to recruit students."

When Zoe heard that this person was indeed Professor X, she began to frantically ask the system:

"System, system, what's going on? Didn't you say my X gene had been completely eliminated? Why is Professor X still here now?"

"Master, your X gene has indeed completely disappeared. As for this human, it may have noticed you before you were bound to the system. At that time, your X gene still existed."

At this moment, Zoe remembered the information given during the system fusion, which was that his soul was protected by the system and could not be pried into. After he obtained the system, he would be completely undetectable by Professor X. Obviously, he realized that he was a mutant before Zoe came to the Marvel world.

Chapter 6 Mission Arrives

"Oh... what bad luck." Zoe sighed deeply in her heart.

"Hello young man, I'm Charles, the headmaster of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. You can also call me Professor. I've come here especially for you. You're one of our compatriots."

Zoe did not respond to Professor X immediately, but welcomed him and the Beast in first. After all, it was not a good idea to always let others stand at the door. During this time, he had been thinking about how to deal with it. Finally, when he thought it through, he inadvertently glanced at Professor X, who had a thick head of curly hair. Just now, because Professor X came too suddenly, he didn't even see what they looked like.

"Wait, thick curly hair, the bald guy has long hair, damn." Zoe complained wildly in her heart and even said it out loud involuntarily.

"Fuck, hair! Aren't you supposed to be bald?"

"Hey, why do I have to be bald? Zoe, it seems you know something we don't know!" Professor X looked at Zoe meaningfully.

(PS: Professor X has experienced the plot of Reversing the Future and communicated with his future self through the air, and knew that he would become bald in the future)

"It's over, it's over. I let it slip. Judging from Charles's expression, this part of the story should be after the timeline of Days of Future Past. So the next part is the storyline of Apocalypse."

Zoe organized her words, as if she had forgotten what she had just said, and forced herself to change the subject.

"Ahem, Professor, you said I'm a mutant? Don't the mutants I see on TV all have superpowers? Why don't I have any?"

That's right, Zoe was lying with her eyes open. Anyway, he no longer has the X gene, so why would he get involved in the mutants' mess?

"Zoe, you are indeed our compatriot. If you still don't believe me, I have an X-gene identification device here. You can try it."

Professor X said as he handed Zoe a small instrument. Zoe calmly took the instrument handed over by Professor X. At this moment, he felt nothing in his heart and even wanted to laugh.

"Professor, how do you use this thing?"

Zoe asked Professor X while fiddling with the small instrument in her hand curiously.

"You just have to turn on the switch on the back. If you are a mutant, the thing will light up green and make a sound. If not, it will not respond at all." Professor X patiently explained to Zoe.

"Okay," Zoe said as she flipped the switch on the back.

But one second passed, two seconds passed, one minute passed, and the instrument showed no response.

Zoe, standing in front of Professor X, clearly saw that the calm smile on his face gradually disappeared as time passed, and finally turned into a confused look.

That expression made Zoe want to take a photo as a souvenir. It would be interesting to show it to the X-Men later.

"Is the instrument broken?"
