Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

Following behind Hiratsuka Shizune, Hikigaya Hachiman walked cautiously, eyes wandering across the new floor.

This floor of the school was dedicated entirely to the student council and club administration, and he had never been here before.

Everything felt foreign, and the quiet sound of activity made him uneasy.

After a short walk, they stopped in front of a classroom.

"Service club?" Hachiman muttered under his breath, staring at the two words emblazoned on the door.

Is this for real? he thought. What is kind club are their in our school?

"Hey, kid," Hiratsuka's voice cut sharply through his thoughts. "Don't start thinking any nonsense."

"No! Of course not!" Hachiman raised his hands quickly, signaling surrender.

His face wore a wry smile, almost sarcastic.

If I even think about it, I'm probably dead.

Satisfied with his reply, Hiratsuka nodded and pushed the door open.

"Alright, Yukinoshita, I'm bringing you a new member," she announced.

Hachiman froze.

What? he thought. Only one person in this school has that surname…

Sure enough, inside the classroom,

Yukinoshita Yukino, the infamous "Ice Queen of Subo High," sat elegantly reading a book. Her posture was impeccable, her gaze cold yet intelligent.

Hachiman's mind went blank for a moment—this was his club member from this semester.

....

Meanwhile, a few streets away,

Gojo could be seen strolling down the road, chewing gum lazily.

Just ten minutes earlier,

Arimori Tsuchimikado from Kyoto had called him, reporting that Benio Adashino had arrived.

The girl was to stay at his home, and in terms of school placement, she had already been assigned to 1st Year F Class at Subo High School—the class Gojo was overseeing.

Walking toward the flower bed where they were supposed to meet, Gojo noticed that the girl he was expected to meet was nowhere in sight.

Lost already? he muttered under his breath, though he didn't bother worrying.

Nearby, a small shop sold freshly baked sweets, so he decided to wait while grabbing a snack.

Behind a passerby, Gojo had instantly caught some peoples attention.

A few girls seated on benches whispered among themselves.

"Wow, so tall… so handsome!"

"He's wearing a blindfold! How can you tell?"

"You don't get it. I've seen plenty of men. This guy… he's handsome for sure."

"Do you… want to approach him?"

"Forget it. He looks so cold. What if he rejects me?"

Their whispers faded as Gojo approached, standing out with casual confidence.

"Hello," a young clerk said, about 15 or 16 years old, black hair neatly combed. "How many sweets would you like?"

Gojo didn't respond immediately. Instead, he stroked his chin, eyes glinting with curiosity.

"Sir… how many do you want!?" the boy repeated, a hint of impatience in his tone. If not for the high pay, he would've left long ago from this tiring job.

"Five," Gojo said finally, holding up five fingers.

The boy hastily packed the snacks, handing the small bag to Gojo.

"1,200 yen, please, thank you for your patronage," the boy said politely.

"Keep the change," Gojo said smoothly, handing over 2,000 yen. A faint smile touched his lips. "Young man, I look forward to your father's arrival."

"Huh?" the boy mumbled, staring at him.

Gojo didn't explain. With a casual toss of his bag, he turned and walked off.

The boy muttered to himself, confused.

"What a weirdo…meeting my father? What does he mean?"

Sitting on the flower bed, Gojo unhurriedly ate his snack, mentally reviewing past-life memories.

At first glance, the boy he just meet exuded a hidden demonic aura.

It was subtle, almost completely sealed.

The scent didn't match ordinary demons, nor could it be easily described.

Still, Gojo recognized it immediately because of his past life: this was Ryu Okumura, an illegitimate son of Satan in the Void.

The plot had yet to fully unfold—but Gojo could feel it approaching.

He narrowed his eyes, glancing at the gray sky.

Recently, Tokyo—and other regions across the country—had seen corpses rise, inhabited by ghouls from the Void.

These monsters appeared slowly, and strange ensrgy had been detected in the disaster zones.

A calm before the storm, he thought.

...

After finishing his last snack, Gojo reclined, arms behind his head, bored.

"Why aren't they here yet? You shouldn't really get lost…" he murmured.

Remembering the original timeline, this should be straightforward.

Luckily, Arimori Tsuchimikado had provided Benio Adashino's phone number in advance. Gojo dialed it quickly.

Toot-toot—

Half a minute later, a robotic voice replied:

"The number you dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

Twitch-

Gojo's mouth twitched, but his attention snapped straight toward the distance.

Filth? he muttered under his breath.

He knew why Benio Adashino hadn't answered: a cluster of ghouls had gathered in a disaster zone nearby, and an unfamiliar, powerful exorcists Master energy was present.

"Time for warm-up before dinner," he said with a smirk, tossing the empty snack bag into the trash.

He walked confidently into a nearby alley, summoning a subtle Barrier Technique with his fingers, tracing intricate seals in the air.

The alley walls shimmered as a hidden door to the Wilderness Realm opened.

Inside, shadows twisted unnaturally—

The air thickened with residual demon energy.

Gojo Saturo stepped forward casually, chewing gum, confident and unbothered.

The hunt was about to begin.
