Chapter 40 - 40

Hello, your name is Leo, correct? I'm Agent Coulson, we last met at a press conference in New York."

Coulson walked over to Leo and introduced himself.

"I still remember. Hello, Agent Coulson." Leo looked at the super agent in front of him who was losing some hair.

"Mr. Leo, you are living with Mr. Stark now, right?"

"Yes."

"Then I believe you should have some understanding of what happened to Stark in Afghanistan."

"Agent Coulson, I know you have a mission, but hasn't Mr. Stark already agreed to a meeting with you? I think it would be best if you ask him these questions in person."

Leo watched as this future would cost him his life and brought together the key figures of the first generation of Avengers.

I even heard in my previous life that Nick Fury resurrected Coulson through the drug GH-325, and in the end, Coulson even became the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. However, Leo didn't pay much attention to the plot of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

But Leo couldn't avoid liking this agent who always had a smile on his face.

"Agent Coulson, I think if you have time, you could visit Stark Industries more often. Miss Pepper might be happy to see you."

Leo smiled and took a sip of ice water.

Coulson, who was standing by, became interested in Leo, who was so mysterious even though he had only met once. Thinking of the task Fury gave him, Leo seemed to be involved in it.

Coulson didn't leave either, just stood next to Leo.

The two of them watched with great interest as Tony and Pepper slowly danced the slow four-step, also commonly known as cheek-to-cheek dance, a very intimate dance.

The two people were talking and dancing, laughing as they spoke, and it was unknown what they were discussing.

After a while, Tony and the other man talked about something and went to the balcony together. Coulson found that there was nothing to pay attention to, so he left.

Leo smiled, his eyes shining with gold. Through the crowd and the wall, he saw the two people standing face to face.

After a while, it seemed that their eyes met while they were talking, and the atmosphere suddenly became charming as they looked at each other.

The inexplicable emotion between the two was also rapidly growing.

Pepper Potts showed some movement, leaned forward slightly, and took the initiative.

Tony's body moved at first, but then returned to its original position and became a little stiff.

Although he had performed this action countless times on other women, he hesitated when facing Pepper in front of him.

Pepper closed her eyes, as if expecting something.

Tony's eyes were full of struggle. He didn't know how to face Pepper. He liked her, but was afraid of losing her. She was responsible for him, but how should he be responsible?

Finally, he made up his mind, closed his eyes, and wanted to kiss her.

But Pepper, who had been waiting for several seconds, opened her eyes, and Tony also felt something was wrong. The distance between their lips was only two or three centimeters, but they separated again.

"Oh!"

Leo slapped his thigh and felt sorry for Tony. It was a pity that he didn't see this classic scene.

Tony hurried to the bar stiffly and stuffed a hundred-dollar tip into the glass. "Two vodka martinis, not sweet, with lots of olives, quick."

Leo sat beside him, holding a glass of ice water and looking at Tony with a smile, "Mr. Stark, you seem a little shy today!"

"Little Leo, ice water tastes much better than vodka, remember to drink more." Tony glanced at Leo's cup and mocked him back.

A figure in a halter dress came up from behind and stood in front of Tony.

"Wow, Tony Stark."

"Oh, hello."

Tony looked at the figure and had a little impression of her.

But I can't remember the name.

"Reporter Christine, do you remember me?" Leo said as he sat aside.

It was when Leo followed her that he met Tony Stark for the first time and handed the reactor model to Tony.

Kristen glanced at little Leo, ignored him, and continued speaking facing Tony.

"You're quite brave to come here tonight. Can you give me some reaction?" he said, looking at the stiff Tony.

"Panic. I think what I felt was panic."

Tony had recognized her, the last woman he had slept with before going to Afghanistan.

But now I'm a little worried that it will affect my conversation with Pepper tonight.

Leo felt a little embarrassed and continued to drink a sip of ice water.

"I heard your company was involved in a recent scandal, and yet you're still showing up here despite the storm."

"In case you didn't know, I've been out of town for a few months."

"Is this what you call responsible?" Christine handed over a few photos.

"This town is called Gemila. Have you heard of it?"

The three familiar words "Gemila" temporarily calmed Tony down and he took the photo and started looking at it.

The photo shows some bearded warriors carrying weapons manufactured by Stark Industries. Behind them are broken walls and ruins, and the weapons also have close-ups of Stark Industries' products.

"When was this filmed?"

"yesterday."

Tony frowned, "I didn't approve the shipment."

"Oh, but your company approved it."

"Just because my company agrees doesn't mean I agree." Tony's eyes flashed with anger.

He walked to the door angrily and found Obaday who was still being interviewed by reporters.

Obadi noticed that Tony was in a bad mood and pushed away the reporter who came over to take pictures.

"Have you seen these photos? Ha, what's going on over there at Gemilla?"

"Tony, Tony" Obadiah pulled Tony to the stairs.

"You can't be so naive anymore"

"Let's put it this way, I was naive before?" Tony stared at Obaday in disbelief.

"They told me 'the bottom line of business cannot be crossed' and that this is our way of doing business, but did we make any deals behind the scenes? Did we?"

How Tony hoped that Obaday would say the three words "I don't know".

But Obadiah no longer wanted to tolerate Tony like this. The two faced the reporter's camera, and Obadiah leaned close to Tony's ear.

"Tony, who do you think wants to kick you out? I signed the injunction. Only in this way can I protect you."

He looked at Tony coldly, patted his shoulder, and strode out.

Seeing Obaday, whom he thought was his last relative, say such words, he stared blankly at Obaday's back, motionless.

The reporters around him also followed Obaday and left. Everyone left Tony at this moment.

Tony Stark was still standing there, as if the temperature around him had suddenly dropped by more than ten degrees. Tony was shivering with cold, and his heart was chilled.

Leo, standing on the steps, looked at Tony who was standing there in a daze, and felt a little distressed. Since the death of Tony's parents, Obadiah had been with him for fifteen years and had always been his dearest uncle, but now he had left him.

Leo stepped forward, "Mr. Stark, I..."

"Leave me alone."

Tony lowered his head and walked away quickly.

Leo watched Tony, who was extremely disappointed, drive away and scratched his head.

"Pepper's still on the balcony waiting for that vodka martini."
