Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Poaching

It's far worse than what Melody Thorne makes.

Servant: "...Young Master Timothy, this is from our newly hired chef from Veldona!"

The monthly salary alone costs hundreds of thousands.

Damn, this is the taste and skill of a chef hired from Veldona? Timothy Lockwood was seriously doubtful, "It's far worse than what Melody Thorne makes!"

His family also had chefs. Could a real estate tycoon have bad chefs? Yet he came all the way here just for the breakfast Melody Thorne made!

But she seemed to have changed, a new trick to catch Jared Quinn's attention?

Jared Quinn also tasted a bite, slowly chewing. For the past six months, his breakfast had been made by Melody Thorne, so he rarely ate what the family chef made.

Timothy widened his eyes, staring at the man in hopes of sharing the sentiment, "Right, right, isn't it terrible? Not as good as the little dummy from your family?"

Little dummy! Saying it so casually! Melody Thorne gritted her teeth and clutched the fork in her hand tightly!

All the servants became nervous too, the atmosphere froze, and the chef from Veldona in the kitchen felt like a knife was at his throat, not daring to breathe!

On edge, the man's words would decide whether he'd be kicked out!

Jared Quinn stirred the food in his mouth, his elegant and handsome face showed not a hint of change, still overly cold and hard, but nobody noticed that his eyes lowered over the food were gathering a faint cold light, dim and unclear.

Others didn't notice, but Melody Thorne did. Especially as his chewing slowed down, which meant he was very dissatisfied with the food in front of him.

Melody Thorne smiled in good spirits, serves him right!!

That little expression, that smug look imprinted in a certain man's peripheral vision, touched a nerve, making the temperature in the hall plunge to below freezing!

For a while

"Not bad!"

The tense atmosphere suddenly lifted, and all the servants breathed a sigh of relief.

Including the chef hiding in the kitchen, as if surviving a disaster, collapsed to the ground.

Timothy's eyes widened instantly, looking incredulous. He knew how picky Jared Quinn's stomach was.

Yet he said it was not bad?

"Daddy," a tender child's voice sounded.

The little bun finished the heart-shaped fried egg on his plate, elegantly took a napkin to wipe his mouth, and seriously said, "You don't have to pretend so hard, admitting it's not as good as my woman's cooking, no one will laugh at you."

"Pfft_" The milk Timothy just drank sprayed out, thoroughly shocked by Little Timmy's unexpected words.

His woman? This digging at the wall sure is close...

Jared Quinn's face darkened, giving the little bun a warning look, "Eat your breakfast!"

Little Timmy snorted, raising his voice, "Melody~, I'm not full yet."

He just wanted to prove that now he's more important to Melody Thorne than his dad.

When Melody Thorne heard the little bun's voice, her heart melted, and she immediately flashed a bright smile, "Wait, I'll fry another heart-shaped egg for you right away."

With that, she swiftly went into the kitchen.

"Okay~"

In a place she couldn't see, Little Timmy burped, lazily leaned against the back of his chair, and glanced sideways at the noble man sitting across, murmuring, "Daddy, Melody Thorne is my woman now, you're not allowed to take her from me."
