"The lawyer who promised to help my dad with the lawsuit yesterday has gone back on their word." Vivian York sighed softly, looking at Ethan Hayes with a face full of helplessness.
"Gone back on their word??" Ethan Hayes was slightly taken aback by her words, then swiftly sat up from the sofa bed, saying: "They promised just fine before, how can they change their mind overnight??"
"I don't know." Vivian shook her head, her face filled with worry as she said: "They just said they've been busy lately and have no time to help my dad with the case. And for some reason, other law firms' lawyers are also unwilling to take on the case."
"How do you know??"
"I just heard my mom say." Vivian squatted on the ground, resting her chin on her hands, and looked up at Ethan with hopeful eyes, saying: "She made a lot of calls to law firms this morning, but no one is willing to take it."
As Ethan listened, his eyebrows couldn't help but furrow tightly.
