Vivian put down her bowl and chopsticks, her gaze sweeping over her three roommates one by one, and she said sincerely, "Tanya, Silly Vera, Faye, is there enough food? Do you want to order anything else?"
"No, no, ordering more would be a waste." Tanya Taylor shook her head and said.
"Are you silly? She means to shut our mouths!" Victoria Sheridan looked at Tanya Taylor helplessly.
"Damn, Vivian, you're too much! We're just looking out for your future!!" Tanya Taylor snapped back into reality, slammed the table indignantly, and said, "Order another portion of fish with pickled vegetables for the baby!!"
In the blink of an eye, it's Saturday. After five continuous days of classes, the students in school were restless as lunchtime approached.
Ethan Hayes was sitting in the last row of the classroom, his long legs stretched out into the aisle beside him. Even though the warm sunlight poured in from the window onto his body, he still propped his head up, looking sleepy.
On the podium, the teacher was passionately lecturing about the class, while Liam Shaw, sitting next to Ethan Hayes, nudged his arm with his elbow and called out softly, "Ethan… Ethan…"
Ethan Hayes snapped awake, his deep eyes slightly opened, maintaining his posture but turned his head, glanced at his desk mate lightly, and casually asked, "What's up?"
"Class is almost over, just three minutes left." Liam Shaw pointed at the watch on his wrist, speaking quietly to him.
"Hmm…" Ethan Hayes closed his eyes, ready to continue dozing off when suddenly he seemed to remember something. He turned to Liam Shaw and asked, "Did you bring what I asked you for yesterday?"
"Huh?" Liam Shaw was momentarily stunned, then quickly nodded and said, "I did, I did. If you hadn't mentioned it, I'd have forgotten to give it to you."
While speaking, he retrieved a package wrapped tightly from his backpack and stealthily handed it to Ethan Hayes under the table, saying, "But Ethan, what do you need this thing for?"
Ethan Hayes silently took the package, tearing a corner of the wrapping paper open, glanced inside, and a faint smile curled his thin lips.
He placed the package into his backpack, then continued resting his chin and stared blankly at the expressive history teacher on the podium, casually saying, "It's useful."
"What's it useful for?" Liam Shaw leaned closer with a gossiping face and asked, "Is it to scare girls? Hmm… probably not, doesn't seem like your style…"
Upon hearing this, Ethan Hayes's body slightly stiffened, but his face remained expressionless as he replied to Liam Shaw, "Uh, to scare the kids at home."
"Oh…" Liam Shaw was instantly a bit disappointed upon hearing this answer, "Boring, is it to scare bratty kids? Hey… I'm telling you, just hitting a brat once is enough, scaring them with these things is pointless."
Ethan Hayes listened absentmindedly as Liam Shaw murmured beside him, turning his gaze towards the tall camphor trees outside the classroom window, responding half-heartedly.
"Ring—" As the bell signaling the end of class rang, the classroom suddenly became lively.
