Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Who Taught You?

Hearing this, Noah Drexler's expression froze.

The next second, he abruptly released her, got up from the bed, turned his gaze away from her disheveled appearance, and turned his back to her.

Summer Shawcross looked up at the man's tall and slender figure, feeling deeply grateful. Incredibly thankful to heaven for giving her this second chance!

"Who taught you this?" The man's steady, cold voice suddenly rang out.

She didn't like him touching her. She was betrothed to him at eighteen and had moved in here. It was also that year, after angering him once, he had pressed her against the bathroom wall and kissed her, leading her to lock herself in the bathroom overnight, crying loudly and cursing him as a freak for stealing her first kiss.

But now, she actually knew how to use herself to please him and calm him down!

...

Hearing his voice, Summer finally let out a slight sigh of relief. It seemed that there was hardly any anger left in his voice.

"Learned from watching movies." She pursed her lips, casually finding an excuse.

Although she was only twenty now, her soul carried twenty-six years of memories and experiences. She might not have learned much else, but during the six years of marriage when she constantly thought of getting rid of him, she became very familiar with his peculiar temper and knew how to go along with him gently.

Hearing her words, he couldn't help but furrow his brows again. Glancing sideways, he cast a displeased glance at the woman on the bed behind him and commanded in a slightly annoyed tone,

"Watch fewer trashy movies in the future!"

Those messy things outside were not suitable for her.

"Okay..." Hearing this, Summer didn't dare to argue further, so she obediently agreed.

Seeing her suddenly become obedient, Noah was rather surprised, yet his heart seemed to be touched by something...

Without further words, he turned around and strode out of the room.

Seeing him leave, Summer Shawcross let out a long sigh.

She was somewhat confused; she used to hate him and thought he kept her captive because he was a perverse man unsatisfied with what he could not have.

But now... she took the initiative with him, and yet he seemed to have little interest in her?

Could something be wrong here?

Thinking about it, Summer couldn't help but run her fingers through her somewhat messy long hair, feeling suddenly bewildered.

It shouldn't be like this...

The European-style curtains were blown open, and a gust of wind came in. Summer shivered from the cold, looked out the window, and realized it was already dark.

She was stunned for a moment, then suddenly remembered... at ten o'clock tonight was the time when her brother had his accident.

When she was fourteen, The Shawcross Family went bankrupt, her parents both died, and her brother was her only family.

But in the year she turned twenty, her brother was deliberately murdered, the brakes on his car tampered with, causing the car to lose control and plunge into the river.

This incident had a big impact on her back then. Even now, thinking about it still made her feel very upset.

Summer glanced at the clock on the bedside table, which showed eight o'clock...

Which meant her brother hadn't had the accident yet... maybe she could still stop everything from happening.

Thinking of this, Summer's heart suddenly turned tense. Not daring to waste any more time, she quickly got out of bed, dashed into the closet, grabbed a dress at random, put it on, and then left the bedroom, heading quickly downstairs.

She had just gotten downstairs, about to walk out the door, when the bodyguard at the entrance stopped her.
