Chapter 5 - Chapter 3 – The Beast Awakens

The moment the phone rang, everything changed.

The temperature in the room seemed to drop as soon as Rajveer's tone shifted.

The softness that had just kissed Siya's skin disappeared, swallowed by a tension that dropped the temperature in the room. Rajveer's posture stiffened, his gaze darkened, and within seconds he transformed—from the man who had just kissed her gently, to a man who looked like he could kill with a whisper.

"Speak," he answered, voice low, sharp.

Siya sat up immediately, heart suddenly pounding in her chest.

She watched as his hand clenched around the phone, the muscles in his jaw ticking with every second of silence.

"What?" he snapped. "Say that again."

A pause.

Rajveer stood up, already moving across the room with precision toward the closet with quiet urgency. Siya noticed the shift in his movements—focused, trained. He wasn't just reacting—he was preparing.

"Rajveer?" she whispered, her voice barely above a breath.

He didn't answer immediately. He pulled on a black shirt, clipped a holster around his waist, and checked the pistol he retrieved from the back of the closet—swift, fluid, like muscle memory.

Siya sat frozen on the bed, her heart pounding so loud she could barely hear her thoughts.

Only then did he glance at her.

His eyes were darker than before. Not with rage. Not with fear. With something far more terrifying: control.

"You're not safe here anymore," he said calmly. "They found you, the brother. Maybe you uncle. Maybe worse. Doesn't matter. They won't reach you." His eyes dazzling with fire and passiveness for her.

Siya felt like the ground beneath her had disappeared. "What… what do you mean?"

He walked toward her, lifted his phone again and sent a voice command. "Lockdown. Protocol 7. Now."

Within seconds, she heard a mechanical click around the house—doors sealing, shutters sliding into place, a metal groan as the security grid engaged.

"Rajveer…" her voice trembled.

He finally looked at her—really looked—and she saw it. The violence behind his calm. The storm behind his silence.

"They know you're here," he said with a surety. "And they sent someone."

Her blood ran cold. "Who? But how? I didn't tell anyone---really"

"They have eyes everywhere. Slime like that always does. But they made one mistake." He stood up straight and looked her dead in the eyes.

His voice was ice. And rage, and something else...something terrifyingly quiet.

"One of their men. He didn't reach the house. But he reached one of mine." A pause. His voice hardened. "He's dead."

She gasped, covering her mouth. "Because of me…"

"Not because of you," Rajveer snapped, stepping closer. "Because of them. Because they thought they could touch what's mine."

Her breath caught.

That word again—mine.

His hand brushed her cheek. "They tried to reach you once. I let it happen. That won't happen again."

"But… what are you going to do?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"They forgot who I am."

Rajveer's eyes flashed. "I'm going to remind them who I am."

She shivered. "Rajveer….you have a gun."

"I have more than that," he said flatly. "But I won't need them unless they're stupid enough to come near you."

He walked over and knelt in front of her, gently brushing his hand over her trembling fingers.

"I promised you," he said. "No one touches you again. No one."

🌙 Emotional Collision

Siya bit her lip. Her whole body was trembling------not just from fear, but from the storm swirling inside her. She stood up abruptly, unsure what scared her more—the men hunting her, or the man in front of her who seemed ready to burn the world to protect her.

"Why are you doing this?" she asked, voice cracking. "Why me? You could have sent me back. You could have walked away."

He looked at her, then took a slow step forward, standing in front of her. He took her face in his hands, firm yet soft cupping her cheeks "I don't know."

"Maybe because the moment I saw you when no one else did. Running barefoot on that street, I knew I wasn't going to walk away. I should have gotten out of that car, I didn't. I won't make that mistake again."

She inhaled shakily.

"And because I don't want anyone else to ever see you the way I do. No man should get to touch what's mine"

She backed up slightly as he stepped in front of her, until her back hit the wall. He leaned in, hand pressing to the wall beside her face.

"Or maybe…" he said, voice low and raw, "because I haven't felt anything in years. And then you walked into my house, into my arms, into my head—and now I can't breathe without thinking about what it'd be like to lose you."

Her throat tightened.

He was too close. Too warm. Too dangerous.

But instead of pulling away—she leaned in.

"I'm not yours," she whispered.

He didn't blink, his lips brushed her ear. "You were the second you said yes."

The air between them snapped with tension.

He leaned in, nose brushing against hers, lips hovering.

Their breath mingled. Their silence screamed. His thumb traced the edge of her lower lip, and she saw something flicker in his eyes—like a war between restraint and ruin.

"say it," he whispered.

She blinked. "What?"

"Say you're mine."

"Rajveer…."

"Say it, Siya."

Her lips parted.

"...I'm yours."

The effect was instant. Rajveer's pupils darkened. He groaned low in his throat and crashed his lips onto her-----not gently this time, but with fierce hunger.

She gasped as he pushed her back on the bed, crawling over her, his hand gripping her thigh and pulling her body flush against his.

"Tell me to stop," he growled against her mouth.

She didn't

Instead, she clutched his shirt tighter.

That was enough.

He kissed her again, deeper, pouring all his frustration, protectiveness, and raw desire into every movement.

His hand slid under the oversized shirt she wore-----his shirt----and his fingertips brushed over her bare waist, lighting sparks along her skin.

She whimpered into the kiss, arching into him.

"God, Siya..." he rasped, kissing along her jaw, down her neck, biting gently until she moaned.

He paused.

"You okay?"

She nodded breathlessly. "Yes. Just…..slower."

His jaw clenched, but he nodded. "Okay Babygirl."

He kissed her again, slower this time. Reverent. Like she was something sacred he didn't want to break.

Her fingers found his hair, tangling as he hovered above her, trailing kissed across her collarbone. His hand rested on her waist, grounding her.

Every brush of his lips, every breath between them, it wasn't just lust. It was possession. Reverence. A vow in the language of touch.

He kissed the corner of her lips again. "You're safe."

She nodded again, whispering,"And you?"

He paused.

Then whispered back, "With you, I'm something else. Not safe. Not broken. Just…..real."

For a few long moments, they lay tangles in that warmth-------heartbeats syncing, bodies wrapped in silence and longing.

But then-------Rajveer's phone buzzed again.

He pulled away reluctantly and read the message.

His smile dropped.

"What is it?" Siya asked, already sitting up.

"You should be sleeping," he said suddenly, stepping back. "Go to bed. I'll be back before dawn."

"Rajveer—"

"No," he said, firmer. "Don't follow. Don't open the door. Don't think of doing anything except staying alive. Do you understand me?"

His tone was dominant. Commanding. She didn't know whether to be offended or… grateful.

"I understand," she said quietly.

Rajveer pulled on his coat, holstering his gun again.

But before he could turn to go, she reached out and grabbed his wrist.

He stopped.

Their eyes met—hers teary, his unreadable.

"Come back to me," she whispered.

His jaw clenched.

Without a word, he leaned down and kissed her—not like earlier. This kiss was rough. Desperate. Possessive. It wasn't just about lips—it was a claim.

And then he pulled away, resting his forehead against hers.

"I'll kill them all before they touch you again," he vowed. "That's my promise."

She closed her eyes.

He looked at her, eyes softer now. "I'll be back before sunrise. I swear."

"But what if they---"

"No one touches you, Siya. No one. You stay here lock the door. Don't open for anyone but me."

He kissed her forehead softly….then whispered something in her ear.

| "Tonight, I won't just end this. I'll send them a message in blood."

And just like that, the man who kissed her like she fragile...

Walked out the like a beast finally unleashed.

And he was gone.

Siya didn't sleep.

Not really.

She curled into the bed, wrapped in his scent, heart echoing with his voice, every nerve awake. She tried not to think about where he was. What he might be doing. Whether he'd keep that promise… or die trying.

And though the house was in lockdown—she had never felt more exposed.
