Chapter 41 - "The Sun That Rose at Midnighthe Battle!"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

A small sun slowly rose in the middle of the night.

Its dazzling light burst forth, piercing through the deep darkness.

In ancient times, there were beasts revered as messengers of the sun—creatures so radiant that people called them those who devour the sun. When their bodies shone with blinding brilliance, they took on the form of the sun itself, erasing the darkness and illuminating the world.

"What… what's happening?!"

"Is that the sun? Is the sun rising?"

"But it's the middle of the night—how can there be sunlight?"

"Lord Muzan!!!"

The demons screamed and wailed as the radiant light washed over them, turning them to ash in moments.

"W-what the—?! Did morning come already?"

Murata, who had thought he was about to die, looked around in utter confusion.

"It's not morning," muttered Goto, the Hidden Corps member, his voice trembling. "It's… a sun rising in the middle of the night."

"Holy crap!!!"

Across the multiverse, countless onlookers watching the scene through the dimensional screen froze, eyes bulging, jaws practically hitting the floor.

"What in the world is going on?! How can there be a sun in the night sky?!"

"It's Nebby! Nebby evolved again!"

"Nebby's turned into something like the sun itself!"

"Whoa, look at that! It's literally the sun!"

"That's what a true interdimensional ally looks like!"

"To be matched against an immortal like Muzan, of course the outsider had to be special!"

"I bet that skinny mustached guy can transform too!"

All over the worlds, spectators lost their minds, shouting and theorizing in excitement.

Meanwhile, in the Pokémon world, no one was more ecstatic than the researchers.

"That's… Solgaleo!!!"

"The legendary Sun Pokémon!!!"

"So that's it—this is Solgaleo's final evolution!"

"Quick, record everything!"

Professors like Oak, Kukui, and even Cynthia sprang into action, eyes wide with scholarly fervor.

"Wait—that's really Nebby?" gasped the students of Alola's Pokémon School.

"That's what Nebby looks like all grown up," Lillie said firmly, eyes shining.

"No matter what it becomes, Nebby will always be Nebby," Ash said with his trademark grin.

In the Demon Slayer world.

"The sun… the sun's rising?!"

"Wahahaha! It's over for you, demons!"

"I don't know why it's suddenly daylight, but you're all done for now!"

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke shouted excitedly, their hope reignited.

"Is that really the sun…?" murmured Shinobu, Giyu, and Rengoku, staring blankly upward.

"Kanroji! Earlier, it was Kanroji and Nebby—"

Obanai Iguro's mismatched eyes widened as the pieces clicked.

"Muzan!!!"

Suddenly, Sanemi the Wind Hashira yelled out.

"You trying to run away again?!"

Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, snapped to attention too.

Clang!

Gyomei, the Stone Hashira, swung his chained axe to block the way—

—but it was no use. Muzan was already gone, fleeing with everything he had.

You had to be insane to fight under a nighttime sun.

The moment he sensed the anomaly, Muzan abandoned all plans. There was only one thought left in his mind—run.

"Hurry, Nakime! Retreat!"

As he warped back to the Infinity Castle, he didn't even think about his Upper Moons—he just shouted the command to flee.

But—

The next second, something terrifying happened.

The small sun in the sky suddenly dove down, crashing straight into the Infinity Castle.

Sunsteel Strike!

Solgaleo's signature Z-Move exploded in a blinding flash.

BOOM!RUMBLE!

The entire Infinity Castle disintegrated under the overwhelming blast.

"AAAHHHH!"

Muzan screamed as he was blasted backward, his body torn apart by the impact.

But—

After unleashing its ultimate move, the blazing light around Solgaleo finally dimmed, revealing the familiar core within.

"Hey, everyone!"

Mitsuri Kanroji waved excitedly from Solgaleo's back, grinning ear to ear.

"Kanroji!!!"

"Mitsuri-chan!!!"

"You're alive! Thank goodness!"

The Demon Slayer Corps erupted with cheers.

"I'm fine, I'm fine! You guys, Nebby's amazing—it's literally like the sun! It blew up the whole Infinity Castle in one shot!" Mitsuri said, brimming with excitement.

"We saw! We saw the whole thing!"

"That little thing really did that?!"

"Amazing! Just amazing!"

Inosuke howled with delight, fists pumping in the air.

"So warm… it really does feel like the sun," murmured Shinobu and Kanao, running their hands through Solgaleo's soft, glowing fur.

"As expected of the ally summoned by our master—truly magnificent!" Rengoku praised with his usual booming laugh.

"I don't know how this happened," Uzui said, "but with Nebby in that form, our odds just skyrocketed!"

"Get ready, Muzan!" Tanjiro roared.

"Don't think you can defeat me with just some beast!"

Muzan inhaled sharply, and his torn flesh began to knit back together.

"It seems that creature's solar energy has already run dry," said Doma with a smile.

"You won't get another chance after this."

"That's our line!" Tanjiro shouted back, blades drawn.

The air crackled with killing intent. Hunters and demons glared each other down, the next round of battle moments from erupting—

—when suddenly—

BOOM!

A deafening crash tore through the night sky.

Something massive slammed into the ground in front of the Demon Slayers, shaking the earth.

A huge man—over three meters tall—stood there, muscles bulging, casting a shadow even in the blazing light.

"W-whoa! Big guy—who the heck are you?!" Inosuke yelled, stepping back in shock.

The man turned his head slightly, voice deep and calm.

"Me? I am Escanor, the Lion's Sin of Pride—of the Seven Deadly Sins."

"..."
