Because No. 17 possesses an inexhaustible energy supply from Dr. Gero's design, he showed no signs of fatigue. He launched wave after wave of rapid-fire ki blasts, pushing back Vegeta.
"Tch, your attacks are like mosquito bites! If this is all you've got, then you're just trash standing in my way!" Vegeta sneered, his golden aura flaring violently as he instantly closed the distance. With a single crushing blow to the chest, he sent No. 17 skidding across the rocky ground.
From the side, Trunks' face lit up with urgency and hope. "Dad! Finish him now! If you destroy them, the future will finally change!"
"Hmph, I don't need my own son to tell me what to do!" Vegeta snarled, his pride boiling over. "All of you mechanical dolls deserve nothing but extinction! Since you offer no challenge, I'll erase you here and now!"
He thrust both arms forward, gathering an enormous surge of ki that crackled violently in his palms. "Final Flash!!"
A brilliant torrent of golden energy roared forth, swallowing the battlefield and blasting apart the ground beneath No. 17 and No. 18. The explosion echoed like thunder across the horizon, leaving behind a massive crater that shook the mountains.
When the smoke cleared, however, Trunks, Piccolo, and the others widened their eyes in disbelief. The androids were not obliterated instead, a new figure stood looming amidst the rubble.
A grotesque, green, insect-like creature held both No. 17 and No. 18 firmly in its grip. His long, segmented tail twitched menacingly, its tip expanding like the open end of a trumpet.
"It's you two at last," the monster's distorted voice hissed with elation. "With you, my perfection is finally within reach!"
Trunks' eyes widened. "No… it can't be! That's Cell… the bio-android from another timeline!"
No. 17 struggled furiously, shouting, "Damn it! Who the hell are you!?" But his efforts were useless Cell's clawed grip was like iron, and his strength easily dwarfed theirs.
"You don't need to know," Cell said coldly, his tail whipping forward. "All you need to understand is that you are my fuel… the final pieces of my evolution!"
Before the horrified eyes of Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, and Krillin, Cell's tail swallowed No. 17 in one swift motion. Screams echoed briefly, then fell silent as the android was absorbed.
"No… stop! Get away from me!" No. 18 cried in desperation, but Cell's tail coiled tighter, pulling her inexorably toward the gaping maw at its tip. Within moments, her body was consumed as well.
A deafening roar split the sky as Cell's body trembled violently. His aura erupted outward in a massive shockwave, tearing through the battlefield like a storm. The earth quaked, rocks shattered, and the heavens themselves seemed to tremble under his expanding power.
The brilliance of his energy lit the entire sky in blinding light.
"What… what is this power!?" Krillin shouted, shielding his face before the overwhelming pressure flung him and Yamcha thousands of meters back like ragdolls.
Even Piccolo staggered, his teeth clenched. "Damn it… his ki is skyrocketing beyond anything we've ever felt before!"
Vegeta, instead of retreating, stared wide-eyed but with a twisted smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "This… this is true power. So this is what happens when that creature absorbs them… fascinating."
As the light began to dim, the monstrous figure before them had changed. Cell's body had transformed, his hideous, incomplete features refined into sleek perfection. His aura was calm yet terrifyingly dense, radiating a godlike pressure.
Complete Cell opened his eyes, a cruel smile spreading across his new, flawless face.
"Heh… finally. At last… I am complete."
The warriors could only stare in disbelief.
"Who is this guy really…?" Yamcha muttered in terror. "He absorbed 17 and 18, and now his power is beyond imagination. Is he… another kind of android?"
The ground shook again as Cell's energy flared once more, announcing the dawn of a new nightmare.
Vegeta was inwardly shaken as he stared at Cell, whose aura was rapidly expanding to terrifying levels.
The very air around Cell crackled with electricity, thunder rumbled in the heavens, and the earth trembled violently. Rocks floated up from the ground as though gravity itself no longer applied, a spectacle that looked like sorcery.
This overwhelming ki spread far beyond the battlefield. Even in distant places, warriors could sense the monstrous presence erupting from Earth.
"It's unbelievable…! That monster's aura is already greater than Vegeta's! With that kind of power, I don't know if anyone here can stop him," Yamcha stammered in fear, his body trembling.
At this moment, all eyes turned to Cell, whose aura surged with golden flashes of lightning. His previous grotesque, insectoid appearance had transformed his features sharpened, his carapace sleek, his figure tall and balanced. He looked more like a supreme warrior than a beast.
"Ha ha ha ha!" Cell laughed with manic triumph, spreading his arms wide. "At last, perfection! The form the good doctor spoke of… the power I craved! This is the might that surpasses the stars themselves. I am invincible the strongest existence in the entire universe!"
Cell closed his eyes briefly, savoring the unfathomable energy flowing within him. His ki was so refined and overwhelming that it dwarfed everything he had felt in his incomplete state.
"Now then," Cell said coldly, his gaze sweeping across the warriors. "Are you ready? It's time to wipe you all out. After this, I, Cell, will reign supreme over the cosmos."
"Hmph!" Vegeta scoffed, his Saiyan pride burning hotter than ever. "I don't care who or what you are. I've ascended beyond the limits of a Super Saiyan. Crushing the likes of you will prove my supremacy!"
With a roar, Vegeta powered up, his aura erupting in jagged flames of gold, his muscles swollen, his eyes filled with arrogant confidence. This was his newly achieved form the second stage of Super Saiyan, the so-called Ascended Saiyan.
If anyone dared to look down on him now, he would show them their mistake with overwhelming force.
In a single step, Vegeta's figure blurred from sight, reappearing in front of Cell with blinding speed as he launched a storm of furious blows.
"Die!!" Vegeta roared, his fists and feet striking like bullets, pounding against Cell's body.
"Swish, swish, swish!" The rapid-fire strikes rang out across the battlefield.
But to Vegeta's mounting frustration, his barrage had no effect. Cell didn't flinch, didn't even take a step back he stood as though made of steel, a smug smile on his face.
"Is that it? Is this the power you're so proud of, Vegeta?" Cell said mockingly. "Pathetic. Allow me to demonstrate true strength."
With a sudden flare of his perfected ki, Cell released a shockwave that sent Vegeta flying back through the air like a ragdoll.
"Grrr… damn it!" Vegeta snarled, righting himself midair. He refused to accept humiliation. His aura burned hotter, and with another explosive burst of speed, he hurled himself back at Cell, fists blazing.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Their blows collided in rapid succession, shaking the earth as they clashed from the shattered ground to the open sky, then back down again, the shockwaves of their strikes splitting mountains.
But through it all, Cell looked amused, regarding Vegeta as if he were a child throwing a tantrum. "You're far too weak, Vegeta," Cell said, his tone dripping with disdain.
Vegeta's fury boiled over at Cell's contempt. "You dare mock me!? I'll make you regret it! This is the true power of a Saiyan prince!" He gathered every ounce of his strength and charged with a ferocious roar.
"Take this! Go to hell, you abomination!!"
But before Vegeta's punch could connect, Cell's arm shot forward like lightning.
"Ughhh!!" Vegeta's eyes bulged as Cell's fist buried itself deep into his abdomen, the force doubling him over. The speed was so overwhelming that Vegeta hadn't even seen the strike coming.
Cell smirked as he retracted his fist, watching Vegeta's body hurtle helplessly through the air before crashing violently into a rocky mountain, shattering stone upon impact.
"Boom!!" The mountain crumbled under the devastating collision, leaving Vegeta buried in rubble.
