Chapter 78 - Chapter 78. Telekinesis Training Method

Chapter 78. Telekinesis Training Method

"One billion Pokédollars."

Sage Hart shook his head slightly.

If it had been a few years earlier, he would still have had some savings.

But over these years he had gone everywhere seeking doctors to treat Sabrina.

On top of that, cleaning up Sabrina's messes meant the rest of the money went to compensating the Trainers he rescued.

He was so broke he went to work on construction sites, and with telekinesis one person can do the work of ten.

"Hey, hey, Natsume, that's not very nice," Misty looked at him.

"Right, Natsume, how much is one of these?" Ash felt the uncle was a little pitiful.

But he would not blame Natsume.

He planned to buy one himself and give it to the uncle.

Big bro Natsume definitely wouldn't gouge him.

"Hm, in terms of manufacturing cost, about 500,000 Pokédollars," Natsume said, not treating Sage Hart like an outsider at all.

"…"

He really can sell.

"Natsume, then I'll buy one and—"

Before Ash could finish, Natsume handed the searchlight in his hand to Sage Hart.

"Take it as a gift, but I want the telekinesis training method, and make sure it includes your personal insights."

Natsume's voice sounded, and Sage Hart froze for a moment, then accepted the searchlight Natsume passed over.

He hesitated for a while, then took a thick notebook from his coat.

"It has the telekinesis training method in here, as well as my own insights and experiences. I hope you can control yourself."

After Sage Hart finished earnestly, he lifted the high-powered searchlight and vanished with Teleport.

"Wow, a human can use Teleport like a Pokémon!" Misty was astonished, and her understanding of telekinesis leveled up again.

"But there can't be many in the world who can do it to the level of Mr. Hart and Miss Sabrina," Brock praised sincerely.

"By the way, Natsume, since there's a telekinesis training method here, why did you still ask him for one?" Honora thought of something and turned to Natsume.

"I came to Saffron City a long time ago," Natsume said.

"The telekinesis training methods sold on the market here are all abridged."

He figured Sage Hart didn't want a second Sabrina to appear.

Telekinesis training can be roughly divided into three parts—Outer World, Inner World, and Main World.

The Outer World is the most obvious telekinetic application, like moving things out of thin air, and this is also what's popular on the market.

The Inner World is telekinetic application that can't be seen, such as inducing hallucinations or communicating with a Pokémon's heart.

The Main World is the creation of a world in one's own mind's eye.

If one's mind isn't mature enough and they enter too early, it's very likely they'll become immersed and unable to extricate themselves.

Sabrina's current situation belongs to having stepped into the Main World and gone awry.

Natsume skimmed a few pages, making sure Sage Hart had given him a complete telekinesis training system, then finally turned to the very beginning and started reading carefully.

Natsume had just finished the Outer World introductory section when a commotion came from the entrance of the Saffron City Gym.

"Bang!"

The main doors opened, and Sage Hart was thrown out.

Flying out with him were countless shattered pieces of searchlights.

"Mr. Hart, are you okay?" Ash and Brock stepped forward together and poked him with a stick.

"Why—why didn't Sabrina react!" Sage Hart suddenly stiffened like a corpse and howled up at the sky.

"Uncle, not reacting is normal, because when it comes to making people mad, Natsume is simply in a class of his own," Misty shook her head off to the side.

Misty's words woke Sage Hart up like a splash of cold water, and he scrambled to Natsume, dropping to his knees with a thud.

"Natsume, please, I'm begging you—please make Sabrina angry!"

Natsume: "???"

A father kneeling in the street, begging a passerby to make his daughter angry.

Natsume had never seen such a thing even in the morning papers.

"Here's the situation," Sage Hart hurried to explain when he saw Natsume didn't quite understand.

"Sabrina's current condition is very special, and I don't even know what kind of Main World she's stepped into."

"Only through her emotional reactions to the outside world can we roughly feel our way through it."

"Only then can I figure out a way to bring her out!"

"So, I'm begging you!"

Sage Hart stood and bowed deeply to Natsume.

"So I'm supposed to be an 'emotion trigger'?

I don't think so," Natsume shook his head.

Sabrina's anger had started when he snatched away the doll.

But judging from the original storyline, Sabrina's emotional trigger should be a Pokémon.

That didn't seem to conflict, though, because the doll had a wave similar to a Pokémon on it.

Natsume thought for a moment and decided to try the original solution first.

"Head east from here and you'll find the Pokémon Tower.

There's a Haunter there.

Go catch it."

Natsume pointed Sage Hart down a bright path.

"A Ghost-type Pokémon…" Sage Hart frowned.

In earlier years, he had considered a Pokémon-therapy approach to try to pull Sabrina out of her Main World.

Eevee, Pikachu, Growlithe—he had sent all kinds of cute Pokémon, but none of them worked.

As for a Ghost-type Pokémon, he truly hadn't tried that yet.

"But how could a Ghost-type Pokémon possibly have anything to do with Sabrina's Main World?"

His words were thick with doubt.

In his view, Sabrina had stepped into the Main World for two reasons.

First, her talent was too high and she reached that realm at a very young age.

Second, she lacked companionship in childhood.

In her Main World, it should be many cute, companion-type Pokémon, so how could a scary Ghost-type become the emotional trigger?

No matter how he thought about it, the logic didn't add up.

"Try the dead horse as a living horse doctor.

You've failed that many times already, so one more try won't hurt."

Natsume patted Sage Hart on the shoulder.

He wasn't joking.

This was the method he thought had the best chance of success.

After all, Ash and his friends had verified it in the original storyline.

With an S-Rank system task hanging over him, Natsume also wanted Sabrina to come out quickly.

Maybe then the S-Rank task would resolve itself.

"Also, becoming a Gym Leader was Sabrina's own wish, right?"

Natsume guided patiently, and Sage Hart nodded blankly.

"That shows Psychic-type Pokémon occupy a big place in her heart, while Ghost-type and Psychic-type have a love-hate, countering relationship.

It's reasonable that there'd be some connection."

Sage Hart nodded in a daze.

Right—besides that doll, Sabrina had also raised an Abra since childhood.

No, it's already an Alakazam now.

"Mr. Hart, don't hesitate.

If you want to do it, do it!" Ash cheered him on from behind.

"Ash, go with him," Natsume patted Ash on the head.

"Okay, no problem!" Ash agreed in one breath.

"I'm going too!" Misty raised her hand.

"It's two days to go there and back.

I'll handle the cooking!" Brock lifted a frying pan.

"You all…"

Sage Hart paused, then broke into a smile.

"Natsume, when do we head out?"

Ash looked at Natsume excitedly.

"Huh?

I'm not going," Natsume waved his hand, indicating he was staying at the Pokémon Center.

Behind them, Honora, who had been quietly packing, stopped what she was doing.
